We spent 4 nights at Star Arctic Hotel this March and it was excellent choice. The location is superb. Rooms are very nice and they have amazing view to the hills and to the sunset. Hotel restaurant is very good and they also have some vegetarian choices. Staff is super helpful and kind. I think this the best choice for money in Saariselkä region.
I would simply say this hotel is very good in terms of customer service, location and facilities. We stayed only for few nights but we managed to try all the room types. The glass igloos are nice although we ran into issues with the heating inside. The igloo was very cold and the thermostat was broken. We then went to complain to the reception and this review would probably be very different if it wasn't for the staffs reaction the the problem. They said they could either try to fix the issue or have us a new room. We chose the latter and moved to a suite with a sauna. Amazing room. Breakfast and the restaurant were nice with quality food and service. They did their best to keep good distance between the tables by restricting the amount of customers inside the restaurant so you could enjoy your dinner or breakfast during the pandemic. Hotel also offers nice tours and activites for those who want them. Cleaning of the rooms was done daily and in a good level. Overall a very good experience in the most busiest time of the year.…
The view from the balcony is absolutely fabulous. The room was tinyish but enough for the two of us. Beds were more than comfortable which was highly appreciated after the day’s walk. Welcoming personnell and nice meals.
We spend 5 nights in this scenery hotel. Views are amazing. Cleanliness high level. Bathroom well working. Sauna with views was perfect. Breakfast very good. Service great level. Restaurant Kaunis is excellent for dinner.Lobby bar with fire place is very nice. I can recommend to Lapland fans.
We spent one night in this hotel and were shocked to find the hotel pretending to be a 4-star hotel - absolutely ridiculous! The room costs around 450 Euro (or more) for one night. You think you can expect something... - The staff was very unfriendly and disinterested and is constantly hanging around at the bar. They do not think it is necessary to serve the customer's needs. - The room was not clean at all. There were cigarette butts everywhere and it was dirty from the previous customers. The snow is not cleared away - we do not want to know how older guests are doing, as the staff does not help you with the luggage. - You hear every word and every step from your neighbor. Be happy if you have quiet neighbors. - Below the rooms, there are service rooms and staff rooms. Music and noise until 3 o’clock in the night. Sleep before 3 am is out of the question. - Everything is cheaply furnished. Ikea furniture in a 4-star hotel is a joke. Besides that, everything is cheaply built. - Breakfast at a four-star hotel was a disaster. The food was cold, not even the table was set, no beverages were served at the table (tea/coffee), which is standard for a 4-star hotel. The only good thing is the view (if you are lucky and the weather is good...). Better spend your money somewhere else. Absolutely not worth it. We have basically not very high standards, but if you pay 450 Euro for one night you definitely expect something else. Total rip-off.…
