Saapuessa paikalla yksi mies joka kirjaimellisesti juoksee baaritiskin ja vastaanottotiskin väliä säätämässä. Valuttaa hanasta terassin janoisille kaljaa ja vastaanottaa hotelliin saapuvia. Huoneen saamisen kanssa heti jotain epäselvyyttä ja taas joutuu herra juoksemaan. Käy ilmeisesti tarkastamassa onko huoneeseen vuoteet pedattu. Hotellihuone paluu 80-luvulle. Ilmastointi ei toimi, huone superkuuma ja haiseva muovimatto tervehtii heti huoneeseen astuttaessa. Onneksi ei sattunut hellepäivä. Varatun perhehuoneen sijasta saimme huoneen jossa levitetty vuodesohva jonka jalkopää romahtaa keskellä yötä. Huoneen vaihdoksesta toki soitettiin etukäteen. Yövalojen tilalla reiät seinässä. Hotellin uudistus ilmeisesti jäänyt koronakevään jalkoihin. Sulkemisen aikana olisi ehkä kannattanut laittaa hösseliksi ja uusia huoneita vauhdilla. Vaikka laminaattia muovimaton päälle, uutta verhoa ikkunoihin, maalia seinään ja valaisimet reikiin.
Ravintolan ruoka ihan syötävää, senkin tarjoilee sama mies kiireessä juosten. Pöydässä mainostetun briossisämpylän tilalla on kyllä ihan tavallinen valmis hampurilaissämpylä.
Yö menee mopojen ja teinien parkkipaikalta kantautuvia tappeluääniä kuunnellessa. Niukka aamiainen tarjolla kello 6.30-8.00. Kukaan ei tervehdi tai toivota hyvää huomenta henkilökunnasta. Jos Outokumpuun vielä joskus asiaa, nukun mielummin (ja paremmin) vaikka autossa.
