Great location and looking lodge, but for the cost, no service and food is so so. After getting the keys from the lodge greeter, he starts selling tours and instead of pitching how good the tour and the guides are, he starts putting fear into your head, saying things like, if you drive yourself, you will get stuck in the...

We found the room of this place very tatty... We had dinner there the first night and it was served Stone Cold. I did complain to the waitress but she just shrugged her shoulder. Thank goodness we did not pre book and and pre pay for the dinner package. You have no choice but to dine outside this is at...

The Sossus Dune Lodge lies inside the park,so when visiting Sossusvlei one has a headstart on other visitors in the early morning. The lodges are nicely built in the dessert and the rooms have good comfort. The food that is included is very poor,so is the service. The management is a disaster..Not very friendly and not interested. After our visit they called me...

We stayed here for two nights and it's essential if you want to be the first to see the sunrise over the dunes. We were met on arrival and our luggage was taken to our chalet while we were checked in. Our guide to the dunes was excellent and very enthusiastic. The food was better than we expected. The service...

We stayed here in Oct. 2014 for 2 nights. Cabins are spacious and it's a great setting/location, perfect for visiting the dunes. Unfortunately the management of this place is really, really bad. When we arrived there was no reception. We were pointed to the bar area where a guy was handling the check ins and there were a lot of...

Met at the parking below the hotel and driven up with our luggage. The main building is very sparse though check-in was quick and friendly. Rooms are strung out along a boardwalk and face a wide plain with the dunes along one edge and mountains in the distance. There is no air conditioning and no wi-fi. The mosquito net was...

Staying at Sossus Dune Lodge is, as most reviewers have said, essential if you want to see the sunrise in the dunes. And believe me, you do want to see the sunrise in the dunes. It is stunning and an experience that you will remember for a life time. Sossus Dune Lodge is a NWR run lodge and unfortunately, that...

This was our second time at Sossus Dune Lodge. The service and the food improved a lot and are now at a good standard. The chalets on the boardwalk are very nice. The guided tour in the morning was not as good as last time. The guide drove us to big daddy and then disappeared to set up a breakfast...

It is very difficult to book within the Namib-Naukluft National Park as you're forced to book in a NWR accommodation: either the Sossus Dune Lodge or in the Camp site. Those two places are fully booked months in advance and it's a nightmare if you try to book directly. Although I contacted NWR almost 6 months in advance, both places...
