Very nice hotel, great views and wonderful nature around! Want to highlight Titania for her excellent service and kind attitude, she was very welcoming and accommodating. As well as Rachel, had a great tour of spa with her and it was wonderful. Thank you!

We stayed there for two (2) nights to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The welcoming was over the top (felt like Royals entering our palace), we got a shot of a non alcoholic beverage, top notch customer service. We were brought to our room which we loved. The pool is the best hands down, feels very refreshing like a flowing river and has no bleach scent coming from the water. Breakfast is served as buffet style, it's very appealing and highly organized in terms of grouping the different items on the menu, excellent containers to ensure the food stays warm and loads of different foods to choose from, they also cater to everyone's eating preference. Shout out to Alana Laurent what an awesome chef there. We had dinner which was nice, our waitress was awesome her name is Bernisha Mathew (such a darling). The environment was so nice and satisfying The whole vibes there was just lovely. That's the best place that we have been to on island. However, from since our arrival we noticed ants on the table in the room, I'm not sure if it's from the flowers or what but I had my disinfectant wipes, I wiped down the table and stuff, disappeared for awhile and they were back again.I ordered a birthday cake with them (I was so excited about this lil extra gift) which we were highly disappointed in, we just left it in the fridge to dump, it wasn't appealing at all (didn't look attractive nor did it taste good). Secondly, the tiles in the bathroom are slippery when wet(they are the smooth tiles, advising that some actions be taken to avoid injuries for future reference), I almost slipped and fell in there, very beautiful tiles but not for a bathroom. Lastly after our dinner,I requested my dessert as a take away due to being filled. We brought it to the room and placed it on the little table and by the time we were ready to eat it there were ants all in the container, they took over the brownies (my boyfriend had placed his own in the container as well) I was disappointed that I didn't even get to taste my dessert. Overall, I would still recommend to persons who are looking for an awesome place whether it's a birthday or a wedding etc, the scenery is out of this world and loads of other tourist sites are within close proximity. We had a relaxing, fun and amazing time in this top notch classy resort.

I stayed at the resort for two nights with my girlfriend for her birthday. Once you arrive a member of staff will promptly appear in a golf kart, to transport you to the lobby area where you will be met by smiles to have a smooth check-in.
We booked the 'Deluxe Mountain view room with plunge pool'. Upon entering we were greeted by a fresh fruit bowl (mango, grapes, banana, apple), and a surprise chocolate birthday cake (which was absolutely delicious). The room had a King bed (which may possibly be one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on), and a nicely sized mini fridge that can fit a couple of bottles of wine and cartons. The pool is roughly 4ft 9in in depth and is illuminated at night, which is lovely to look at.
Lunch and dinner was served at the Rumfire Bar. I have stayed in hotels across the globe from a very young age including the Burj Al Arab in Dubai (the world's only 7 star hotel), but I can confidently say that the Rumfire Bar at Cabrits has the most extensive drinks menu I have ever seen. Ranging from wine to cognac, all filtered via country of origin. They have also created their own signature cocktails, I quite enjoyed 'World's End'. The prices for food are surprisingly reasonable for such a high standard hotel, with large portion sizes. We had pizza with BBQ chicken topping, which in my opinion is the best pizza on the island (yes I have tried them all from fast food to hotels). We also had the Carbonara pasta which was delicious. Every staff member on duty came out to sing happy birthday to my girlfriend while presenting her a cake which was a very special touch.
The hotel has 2 world class asphalt tennis courts which are available 24 hours a day. We brought our own tennis balls but they had good quality rackets which we could use. As soon as we were finished, a member of staff picked us up in a golf kart and dropped us back by our room.
There are 4 swimming pools on site (not including our private plunge pool). We were able to use 3 of them during our stay and they were simply perfect. Lovely sizes with one featuring a 'beach entrance'.
The buffet breakfast was served in the Cabrits Market restaurant each morning. You can choose from a wide array of local and american style foods ranging from cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, saltfish, bacon, choice of eggs and lots more which you would expect to find in a nice buffet.
To conclude I think Cabrits Resort and Spa is one of the best hotels in the world, period. I would recommend it to anyone. There are many nice hotels across the globe, but what makes this one stand out is the attention to detail. On the day of my girlfriend's birthday, every member of staff we came into contact with wished her a happy birthday and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be staying again in the very near future.

We came from Martinique by boat
With a taxi, its about one hour from Roseau ferry. Expect from 60-80$
Hôtel is very nice and the employees are very friendly
Food and drinks are very good
Everything is maintained clean up and in good conditions
Only downside is that the pool bar isn’t open... well we still have two days left, we hope to see it open 👀👀 ( subliminal message)
We have the deluxe Mountain View room with pool
Very nice suit with a pool shared with other customers ( maybe 4-5 rooms have access to this pool ), but it still very intimate

The service was top notch. Fernando( manager I believe) was very nice and kept making sure everything was fine. We are vegetarian, my son pescatarian and he made sure the chef knew and could accommodate any request . They have an excellent vegetarian menu and the special menu they have (someone mentioned $125 but it is in fact 125 EC) and very reasonable for the quality and a luxury hotel. The grounds are amazing, I wasn’t sure before booking because I like eco friendly resorts but Kempinski is blended somehow in the surrounding mountains. It was a treat to have a view from the Cabrits National park from our balcony. On Valentine’s Day we had an amazing dessert waiting for us at the room. The beach is amazing and the cleanest I visited in the island. I snorkeled there and didn’t see one single piece of trash which unfortunately was not the case in the other places. The only minus point is that they allow smoking in the grounds so every morning in the balcony I had the beautiful view but also the smoke from the guests next door who unfortunately smoked non stop, even by the pool. The kids club is amazing! I had a hard time convincing my son to leave. Overall I would definitely recommend Kempinski but make sure you have a room far from smokers if like me that bothers you

I’m not sure I will be able to express how amazing the Cabrits Resort is in this review. From the minute we booked until the end of our visit, I give a 5+ rating to this gorgeous property and everyone at Canrits Resort. We had airline troubles, delaying our arrival by 2 days, Jamie and her staff were in constant communication with us , adjusting our arrive details and making an unfortunate travel delay bearable because of exceptional communication. My husband and I visited from 12/28/22-1/3/23 with our adult children. Overall Dominica is a gorgeous country to visit and the Dominican people are welcoming and lovely. The Cabrits Resort takes full advantage of the beauty of Dominica. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the absolute best service and hospitality. The check in, tour of the property and welcome fruit plate set the tone of how important the team at Cabrits take their customer service commitment. Our rooms were gorgeous, we had 2 rooms adjoining with plunge pools. The fitness and spa are beyond fantastic. We took a yoga class at the spa then ended up booking a private yoga class with the help of Samar, the hospitality director. Samar is everything you want in a guide to help you explore Dominica. Samar listened to what we were looking for and tailored activities perfectly. Samar set up our hiking excursions, private yoga, a visit to a permaculture farm and lunch at the close by and beloved “Keeping it Real” restaurant. Everything she set up for us was perfectly organized, clearly communicated, and within the budget she quoted. The pools were meticulously cared for, towels were always well stocked and staff were always available. THE FOOD! Breakfast every morning was more than you could ever want for, the freshest of fruit, a buffet so big with local specialties, eggs and pancakes baked to order. Again the staff - all exceptional! Lunch and dinner were off a menu that had everything-fresh salads, 3 soups a day, vegetarian options, fantastic fish and pastas and for my son he ate the chicken sandwich every day for lunch! I’m a huge ice cream fan, homemade ice cream won me over! And I can’t say it enough the staff made every meal so enjoyable because they were so lovely and after only a few meals they knew exactly what we wanted for service, how we liked our drinks and how I like the dressing on the side of the salad. This was our first time to Cabrits, we were looking for a luxury resort with a laid back vibe and we found exactly that. Every detail is attended to, the team at Cabrits Resort make this resort even more spectacular than it already is with it’s beautiful accommodations and amenities. We can’t wait to go back!

First, the staff is friendly and kind. ZZ at the kids club for my 6 & 8 year old was lovely, she was so wonderful with kids! However we paid a premium $$$$$ to stay and it was lacking in many ways. I’m writing this for others considering the long journey to Dominica and what to expect. Especially for the high cost!
We were here 3rd week of March which is spring break in USA and it was empty. Aside from our friends we traveled with I only saw 4 other groups on a property that is massive. There is a lack of energy- no staff walking the pool to service guests, no music, no local entertainment in evenings, no one working the beach engaging with guests to try kayaking etc. none of that . The meals are mediocre- and we had a hard time finding meals for kids. No activities or ideas for guest to explore the island.
Our room was very nice, clean, well designed. But again sooo expensive!!!! It just feels like a massive hotel chain built this and left- no intention behind the details. We will not be returning. If you’re coming all this way Secret Bay is just down the road and very intentionally designed around nature, intentionally helps guests plan their stay and the food is incredible.

Dear lovetravelNyc, Tropical greetings from Dominica. I first seize this opportunity to thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica and your valuable time to write to us. I was extremely disappointed to learn that we were not able to live up to your expectations. Please allow me to say that your honest feedback is extremely concerning for us and we take our guest comments with immense seriousness, we regret and apologize for the inconvenience our team has unintentionally caused you by not attending to the pool and beach. We are currently working on introducing these services to our guests. Kindly allow me to share some of the details in regards to the lack of music and entertainment. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are restrictions on gatherings on the island which limits our ability to host certain events. We are currently working on approval of events to be implemented as soon as possible. In reference to the meals, we are making every effort to add value to our menu with concentration on the kids' selection. We currently collaborate with various tour guides who are well versed on activities in Dominica with attractive packages. I extend my apologies for any miscommunication in this regard. Once again, thank you for bringing this feedback to our attention. And please accept our sincere apologies, it will be our sincere endeavor to prove our commitment to excellence and deliver a vastly improved experience to you given the opportunity. Furthermore, I thank you for praising our team members' kindness and friendliness, basic qualifications on which we build and grow their development to meet and deliver Kempinski’s standards. We also appreciate your positive comments towards our room cleanliness and design. I sincerely hope that we will be able to make it up to you, and look forward to welcoming you back soon at the Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski . Regards, Zuzana Petrikova

Stayed here for 4 nights and loved the property and the setting. As it was low season, being one of the few guests on resort made it feel like you had the space for yourself!
The three F&B venues opened alternatively for the different meal periods which was okay considering the handful of guests on resort however the service was left wanting.
You would think that since there were so few guests, the staff would pay more attention to those were there but that was not the case.
Staff at the restaurants and bar were present but could not be found when you really needed them. We would share an appetizer but no sharing plates were offered. Cutlery was cleared after appetizers, no replacement was not offered even after main course was served. Tables missed salt or pepper or both most times at breakfast, drinks ordered served after we finished our appetizers for dinner on our last night and the list goes on.
Although these may seem small, it's not what you expect of a five star property - especially an Intercontinental.

I stayed here for 6 days with my husband and two kids over Xmas. We had 2 deluxe private pool rooms with Mountain View that were so secluded & stunning.
We were visiting family over Xmas had our own vehicle rental, know our way around the Island and a busy agenda so the hotel was really an oasis of calm and solitude for us. We have been here on previous trips so decided to stay this time and it was incredible.
It never felt busy but given we had our own pool & two connecting rooms we never needed to use the main pool. Only on our last night a family checked in nearby but we had that whole section to ourselves. The room was modern, cleaned well daily plus a turn down service in the evenings. When we asked for more towels because of how many we used for swimming & showering they came straight away. The same for the iron & when we asked for additional toiletries. In fact all the time we had great service and in-room dining was no exception. They would always indicate if we would have more than a 20 minute wait which for us was fine and not dissimilar to other 5 star resorts or Kempinski’s. Dinner at the restaurant was good & a nice atmosphere on the occasions we dined there.
We loved the personal touches like the welcome drink and dedicated person to manage check-in whilst we sat comfortably. Also Our gift on departure., The gingerbread house which they came round to our room and gave us on night 3 as well as the welcome treat in our rooms. My kids also loved the life size edible gingerbread house in the lobby.
Breakfast
The team got used to where we would sit at breakfast and always asked us what eggs we wanted or French toast and pancakes all of which are made to your liking and served to you. It was good to have local options on the menu too. To us there was a good selection and something for all of us each day.
Gym
I always review gyms & this has to be one of my favourites not only from the 15+ trips I’ve had in 2022 but of all of my frequent travels. It’s huge wiry all new equipment that connects to my watch and a brilliant selection. The same applies to the tennis courts which have a toilet right next door to them.
The one thing they could do differently is have more staff on for the buffet events open to the general public. They seemed to struggle to keep on top of clearing plates away & cocktails or drinks not in the buffet took ages to be served. The DJ was good though & it was a nice touch for 26th December celebrations.
We will be back!
We were visiting family over Xmas had our own vehicle rental, know our way around the Island and a busy agenda so the hotel was really an oasis of calm and solitude for us. We have been here on previous trips so decided to stay this time and it was incredible.

Today (Sunday) my husband, me and a friend enjoyed an outstanding buffet lunch at the Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica. We had a cocktail before lunch sitting comfortably enjoying the live music which was a perfect accompaniment. The buffet lunch was excellent as the choices were extensive and everything delicious. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. A stunning view from our table of both the sea and the mountains. Not cheap but very good value for money.

Honestly its a beautiful clean hotel and we realy enjoyed our stay there. Things are change by the minute and God know what can happen between now and April. we were away in Bermuda and should have travelled to Punta Cana but because of the US ban on travel we where left stranded in Bermuda. we curtailed our holiday as we could not go anywhere except to Gatwick and on to our home country Malta.British airways made us pay for our one way ticket Bermuda to LGW--2677 us dollors for 2 pax---YES daylight robber --plane was almost empty.Air malta adhered to the rules that all airlines should co-operate and changed our flights for free(LGW-MLA)
British Airways never even took any notice or helped us --we had to buy our ticket online,
On sunday the 15th day we were leaving,Bermuda started a 14 day quarantine for all pax arriving in Bermuda. All those arriving had to stay in their hotel room for 14 days.
We ourselves back here in Malta are in quarantine.
So it's really not about the hotel being clean(hotel very clean) its about what can happen between now and April.
I would wait especially since you are pregnant.
Take your time to decide.
Good luck
We were there in December and the water sports area was still under construction. The pier is complete as well as the building but the actual room was unfinished and no non motorized equipment. I would contact the hotel directly to get more specific information. I’m not sure why they are saying Dec of 2020 cause it looked almost complete to me?
We asked to view that room and it was amazing, all the rooms are. I would not call the pool “private” because although it is separate, raised and obvious that it is exclusive to that specific room it’s fully exposed for everyone to see (no skinny dipping). It is wonderful because there is a covered veranda overlooking the resort pool so you can choose full sun or full shade for everyone. I would definitely recommend this room. We loved our interaction with the wonderful staff by the pool though so it depends on the level of interaction you are looking for.
