Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is close to L’anse aux meadows and was a convenient place to stay. You could tell it had been cleaned as the cleaning smell was still strong. It has two bedrooms a bathroom and a main room. It felt like it was furnished with second hand furnishings like you
Might do if you owned a rustic cabin. It did have a coffee maker etc so it would be convenient to make your own meals. One of the beds wasn’t comfortable but the others were. Caretaker doesn’t stay on site at night

Glenora, the hostess with the mostess. She is so friendly and helpful. The cabins are clean, and a good value, beds are comfy with all the needed amenities. Would recommend. Located close to lance au meadows, with great options nearby for food. A fire pit would be nice to add to the experience tho

We stayed one night on Aug 5, very peaceful and relaxing setting. The staff is very friendly. The cabin was nice, clean and the beds were comfy. Everything was provided in the kitchen for us to cook a full breadfast before heading back to Rocky Harbour. The rate was very reasonable and we would definitely stay here again.

was very disappointed with these cabins. very nice on the outside but once inside there was a very musty smell. the furnishings were anything put comfortable. would not recommend to anyone. the only upside to these cabins was the proximity to l'ance aux meadows.

Our group of 24 stayed at the Southwest Pond Cabins for 3 nights during our 10-day north-south tour of West Newfoundland. The Southwest Pond Cabins is the best cabin among the 3 places we stayed. Each cabins are spacious, well laid out and well equiped. They are also clean and tidy. Definitely the place to stay if you are visiting the north tip of Newfoundland.

Booked here at last minute when our preferred (and significantly more expensice) choices were unavailable. Cabins were clean, had kitchens and were fine, if a bit dated. Good location right off main highway. 1 bathroom for a 2 bedroom cabin.

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights while exploring St. Anthony (iceberg / whale watching) and l'Anse aux Meadows Viking site nearby - both are within half an hour's drive of the cabins' quiet location. 8 cabins sit in a row, each with a small balcony containing a gas barbecue for guests' use.
Our cabin, number 7, had 2 double bedrooms in addition to the well laid-out central room. The sofa & easy chair were very comfortable and the full-sized fridge & cooker meant proper meals could be stored and cooked.
We were very pleasantly surprised at the thoughtful touches incorporated into the cabin - good quality furnishings were evident throughout and the cabin was scrupulously clean. For $70 CDN a night, this has to be one of the best bargains of my Newfoundland trip. I would recommend these cabins to any friends travelling to the area.

This place has two bedroom cabins, in a good location, not too far from the Viking site and from ST. Anthony. It is just north of Saint Lunair/Griquet in a more rural setting. The rooms are simply furnished but pleasant. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and the living room has a TV. There is a small kitchen with a microwave. The cabins are nicely set back from the road. (Snorri cabins, a little further north, also looks like the cabins are nice but they are not separated from the roald. There is a pond near by, where we saw a moose. And a small store near the front desk. We paid $70 per night. I think this is very good value.

We moved from Snorri cabins to here at. 11pm to a cabin that is very nice #9. Had to check in here as it is a seperate business so had a refund at Snorri and then they charged here. Had agreed to $99/night during the move but they tried to charged $109/night. Got that fixed. Next day went to take a show and the water pressure was poor enough to have the water just run out of the shower nozzle not spray out. Got the, to fix this, they relace the shower head that allowed for a spray. Next morning my wife was having a shower and we ran out of hot water, within 3 minutes. Stopped at the office who tried to call the owner. No answer. Ultimately we both had showers but did the old turn off the water, lather up, water on,etc. the shower/water is attached to the office and laundry so i believe this may be the source of the problem. I complained, who wouldn't and said a discount was in order. Staff, who was terse, said I already do as the rate is $129/night even though the website states $109/night. The cabin is nice and worth using if and when they get things squared away. I would however comfirm pricing and bedding before booking as i feel you will get leftovers if not.

Our family rented 2 cabins for 3 nights and everything was good. The cabins are spacious, well equipped and very clean. The pond has a short boardwalk and bench to rest and enjoy the wonderful scenery. There is a small play area for children. Just a short drive to the Viking Meadows and a bit longer to Saint Anthony. We rented cabins near Wiltondale and St. Barbe and these cabins were the best of them.

"fyi - Cabins are really duplexes (2 cabins in one building), but we never heard any sound from the folks in the adjoining cabin. Was completely quiet and restful!"
