We have spent 3 nights here over christmas and were positively surprised! Our room was freshly renovated and well equipped. Also the wellness area was completely renovated and looked different than on some of the pictures we saw. The quality of the restaurant was very good but especially the chrsitmas menu was quite pricy! Good for a romantic weekend for two especially off season when the wellness area was very quiet!
Reserved only a week before arrival, had little expectation. Our experience from check in at reception to general staff interaction with house keeping, dining and spa was exceptional. Offered great opportunity to experience hotel facilities with exercise classes and even a ‘balade’ guided up the surrounding area of Banyuls-sur-Mer, thanks to Catherine. The bedroom was really clean and seemed recently modernised. Breakfast was always fully supplied with plenty options. Our bedroom had a super view of Banyuls-sur-Mer and we were within walking distance of a beautiful beach where the water was so clear. Will definitely make a return trip.
We got robbed during the first night, (well first hours technically) of our stay in this hotel. Someone having a copy of our key entered in our room and stole our 3 computers, jewelry, documents, house keys and other personal things. We have the strong feeling that it was someone working in the hotel who saw us arriving and saw us going out for dinner. During the same night other guests of the hotel got robbed as well. Since we got robbed a few hours after our arrival, we had no time to use our spa access or to enjoy our vacation. Moreover knowing that someone with bad intentions could enter our room anytime we didn't feel safe at all and couldn't wait to leave. We actually cancelled our trip and went back home...
having read the reviews after we booked I thought..oh no..but we were pleasantly surprised..The Hotel is in the process of being updated, some areas have been painted and some are in the process of being painted.. It appears all areas are wheelchair suitable, with lifts too most floors and large flat areas..I didn't ask for a disabled room so therefore don't know if they have them..I struggled too get in the bath for a shower' and put a towel on the bath floor too stop me slipping....The dining room looks freshly painted and new aircon was being put in..The breakfast was excellent and the best morning was when the chef was there cutting fresh fruit pots..dinner in the evening was varied but seemed too lack flavour some nights..but being a thalasso Hotel maybe a bit light on Salt...The Bar Area was not very well stocked and feel that more could be made of that..we didn't use the Spa facilities so cannot comment..the main outside pool was very clean as were the terraces and the room.. we did pay for an upgraded room but not sure we had one..it was clean and comfortable and had aircon...it did say that they are in the process of painting the rooms etc.. the waiting staff were exceptionally friendly as were reception..so over all not bad…
The hotel entrance is far from welcoming. Only space for 1 car to unload the luggage and the a long wait at reception with only one couple in front. A 5 minute + check in procedure. The room provided a small terrace with an excellent view over the bay and town, otherwise clean but basic. Beware of the wc, anybody tall will bang their heads over the water heater situated directly over the toilet. No shower curtain. We did not use the Spa facilities. A large pool divided into two sections with one side used by length swimmers. Water at a very acceptable temperature although the salt/chemicals resulted in stinging eyes. The continental breakfast was good, note only scrambled eggs as a warm dish. Dinner was a disgrace, even the apple tart a French classic was inedible. No ice bucket for the white wine, food overcooked. For the price a disappointing exprience…
