I stayed in this hotel from 15 to 17th August 2017. My room had a lovely view of the lake and the resort and the bed was very comfortable. My dog was allowed to stay as well. I would certainly stay again. I would consider bringing my grandsons.

Hotel Gergovia is a family-run hotel that offers a warm welcome with personalised service and an exceptional breakfast buffet (the pastries are amazing!!) We didn't eat any other meals here but during our 3 day/ 2-night stay, I often heard other customers raving about the food at dinner so I wish we had been able to have at least one meal, but perhaps next time! This is an older hotel and our room could have used some updating, particularly the toilet area, but we were willing to overlook that in light of the fantastic overall experience. The friendly owner recommended several beautiful hikes for us, tailored to our needs, and was beyond helpful when I thought I was going to have to get a mechanic for my car. The spotlessly clean jacuzzi was a wonderful 5-star end to some of those hikes, and my dog was welcomed warmly by all the staff. I have been travelling around France for almost 30 years now and have rarely received this level of service, even in hotels that had 5 stars, and that makes up for any quirks that could have detracted. No elevator, so be prepared for stairs. The only criticism I would have is that in this region famous for its cheeses, the otherwise almost perfect breakfast buffet was marred by the presence of generic emmental in plastic and the WiFi connection was a bit slow at times...but otherwise, I would stay here again in a heartbeat given the great value for money and the stellar staff. If you are looking for a base for hiking in this beautiful region, this is a clean hotel with a generous, delicious breakfast and wonderful staff. Highly recommended.…

Lovely hotel. Booking was easy via emails. Very clean and comfortable family room. Staff very helpful and friendly. 1/2 board option was great with lovely food (not always great for typically fussy small English children) but we managed. Great position in town, 10mins walk to centre of ski area. Our room was on 2nd floor at the back. Not a big view but pretty woods. Handy ground floor ski lockers, comfortable 'apres ski' area/bar with fantastic views, we all enjoyed the games room and jacuzzi! Would definitely return and recommend.

The hotel is about located 5 miles to the south of Clermont Ferrand and just off the A75. The rooms are spacious and clean and although the restaurant is quite small, the food is better than adequate. I don't normally eat in hotels but I stayed on a Monday and most hotels within the immediate area were closed. The service is very good and parking is right outside the main entrance and is free.
