Fully enjoyed our stay! Our hosts, Diane and Steve, were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable. Diane took initiative to tell us about the area, find out what our interests were, and gave us ideas for where to explore each day that we were there. We also enjoyed a very delicious breakfast every day with freshly cooked English breakfast of our choice, and free servings of cornflakes, bread and jam, and drinks. The people we met in the village of Tomintoul were also very friendly and helpful.

Run by a very friendly, spirited lady, this B&B offers everything your heart desires. Breakfast with homemade bread and all kinds of creations for preparing breakfast eggs. And of course homemade porridge. Spacious, large room in the annex, bathroom and WiFi included. The free whiskey sample (DRAM) was also waiting for us in our room when we arrived. The beds were the right firmness, not saggy or too soft. Very clean and highly recommended

I stayed one night at the Argyle during a Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle tour. On arrival, Dianne and Stephen were very efficient at check-in, and showing where my bike should be stored. The Argyle is very convenient to the many bars and restaurants in Tomintoul (surprisingly, for such a small town!) Dianne was VERY efficient at serving breakfast, which was pre-ordered, as we were on a schedule. Not only did she remember everybody's name, she noticed when we came in the breakfast room, pointed us towards tea and coffee, and brought our breakfast out in minutes. Very much appreciated when you need to get out and back on the road! I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

Another wonderful stay at Argyle guest house. Room was cosy, had tv , tea and coffee , water and a wee tot of Scottish whiskey to enjoy. Diane the host is an amazingly kind lady, gives the best advice on the local area and makes sure you have everything you need for the perfect stay . Breakfast was delicious with vegan and vegetarian options available . Diane also bakes her special home baked soda bread for guests to enjoy . Can’t recommend it highly enough

Lovely friendy landlady, clean and dog friendly. We had a seperate entrance into the Stag room. Very spacious and a lovely comfy bed. There is even dog bowls, treats, towel and a mat to put dog bowls on. Our labrador which accompanied us had a lovely surprise in the morning, with a cooked sausage from the landladys husband who cooks the lovely breakfast.

We booked a night at the Argyle on the way down from up North. Dianne was fabulous at communicating with us and so accommodating. In the midst of the COVID pandemic, health and safety was clearly a high priority and everything felt safe. The rooms themselves were very comfortable and quaintly decorated. We weren't able to eat out due to government regulations but Dianne kindly provided plates and cutlery for our takeaway. Nothing was a problem. A delicious continental breakfast was served to our rooms with a lovely selection of hot rolls, cheese, fruit etc. We plan to return to the area and will definitely stay at the Argyle Guest House again. Would highly recommend.

The guest house has lovely rooms, with comfy beds and a powerful and warm shower. The host is really friendly and helpful and cooks a delicious breakfast to order. There is a pub a short walk down the road for dinner and it’s a 5 min walk to where to the glare of the streetlights ends and you can see the most beautiful start sky if the clouds allow.

We stayed here last night for 1 night with our dog. The room had been newly renovated with lots of thoughtful touches such as a decanter of local whisky to try, tea/coffee/fresh milk, fluffy dressing gowns, books and DVDs. The room was very clean and breakfast was also lovely - with fresh homemade bread and a sausage from the chef for our dog. Check in is usually until 8pm but we were running late and the host, Diane, kindly stayed behind to allow us a late check in. Overall, very homely and enjoyable stay - thank you!
