What can I say about this Gem of a hotel, its a beautiful pink pearl, with a beautiful beach lined with palm trees, and Turtles swimming in the sea, in fact we swam with the Turtles day after day, and watched the hatchlings run along the beach, they were picked up and sent away until they are old enough to fend for themselves. The main thing that makes this Hotel exceptional are the staff, everyone and I do mean EVERYONE make you feel welcome, are friendly, and work hard to make sure that your holiday is a happy one, from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The restaurant, again the staff in here are exceptional, was reasonably priced, and the food was quality, the pancakes are the best ive ever tasted, on Saturday , on thursday and Sunday afternoon there was a steel band which was great fun we were dancing in the swimming pool. There are 2 heated swimming pools, a tennis court, an outside Gym, a mini golf course, and a shuffle board court. There are water sports too. The other guests are all as friendly as the staff, we met some wonderful people, and there are alot of repeat guests, and to be honest I don't blame them. This hotel is very reasonably priced, spotlessly clean, and from the moment you step onto the property until the moment you leave you are made to feel like a member of the Southern palms family. We spent our honeymoon here and we would both like to say a massive thank you to all the staff for making it a fantastic one, and the bottle of champagne was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this hotel as its the best we've ever stayed in, we will be back soon.…
Having first travelled here 28 years ago the hotel has only got better Seasoned Southern Palmers we love the large open beach with its white sand and crystal clear water Greatly situated on St Lawrence Gap it as close to some great restaurants as well as having its own beach side restaurant. Great for all ages especially when the Turtles hatch or lay a great experience for all ages. The hotel is turtle friendly Staff great food great location great
Just returned from my 8th visits to Barbados and my 7th time staying at southern palms. I love this hotel for many reasons……. Lovely, helpful staff, close to bars and restaurants, short drive to the town and oistins and is set on the most beautiful beach. I love staying here and I will come here forever! Deffo will be booking again for next year very soon.
This was our 2nd visit but definitely won’t be our last. The room was 307 was lovely. Fantastic views all round . The staff are all lovely and surprised me on my birthday with a cake and sparkler. Seeing the turtles lay their eggs then some hatching was such a fantastic sight. We swam everyday in the ocean and everyday there were turtles swimming alongside. If your thinking about booking do it you won’t be sorry and you’ll definitely want to return.
We stayed here for a week in January and it was amazing. It was our first post-covid trip and it could not have been better. We loved this place - large room, seconds from the sea, a quiet pool right outside our room, great location. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable. Rodney was very hard-working and a lovely chap. The beach was beautiful, clean and quiet, and we loved watching the turtles swim by in the late afternoon. We were also big fans of the two kittens living on site and the hummingbirds flitting around. We had lunch here a few times and food was nice. We also had the best rum punches here, and we tried a lot across the island. We still talk about this place a lot and would love to come back some time.
Ok. Virgin list this as 4 star. It’s a 3, 3.5 star. BUT, it is excellent! The beach. Powder white sands. Some waves which may not be suitable for small children but really not bad. You WILL see turtles in the sea! I snorkelled all over, but this is my first time with turtles. Unbelievable!! Also saw a couple of baby turtles making the first journey to the sea! Incredible!! Loss of beds and palm trees for shade. Pools. 1 main and 1 smaller. The smaller one is deeper. Never struggled for sunloungers around any pool area. Lovely and clean, so refreshing! Rooms. We stayed 203. Great view of ocean, looking at the layout, think pretty much every room would have a stunning view! Air con fab. Issue with bath plug which was sorted as soon as reported! Fresh towels as required and cleaned daily! Little fridge and kettle/ cups. Restaurant. Never ate there, wanted to eat out. But, always busy, smelt great! Not sure on prices though…Happy days is a 30 second walk. Overall. Would defo return here. There appears to be a lot of repeat visitors which tells you everything! Tips. Bring tea/ coffee/ chocolate etc for room as expensive. Ask for a jug of iced water/cups from restaurant bar. It’s free, and it’s a nice refresher! Pink beach towels- change near mini golf or ask reception. 4pm near small pool-free tea/coffee and cakes. Use the local transport . 3.50BBD each way per person. We used to go to Bridgetown and Brownes beach (go it this beach!!). Catamaran was $30US each for 90 mins. Turtles/shipwrecks and rum!…
I love this place!!! I don't know how many times I've stayed at Southern Palms over the years but I always come back and I hate to leave. They have one of the most beautiful and spacious beaches you'll find anywhere in the Caribbean. The rooms have comfy beds and great a/c. The restaurant and bar have all you could ask for plus fantastic service. But it's the staff that's the icing on the cake! There are just too many fantastic employees to start calling out names. Thank you one and all for all you do! All the best, Tim
My daughter and I finally made it to beautiful Barbados after a couple of years Covid delay! Did not disappoint. When we arrived our allocated room was on the first floor,I was worried about the stairs if it rained, they are marble and might be slippery. Jenni on reception was so helpful, said they could move us in the morning. New room was fantastic, ground floor corner room which overlooked the beach and gardens and much bigger, there was also a complimentary bottle of rum to welcome us from management, very nice touch (+2 bottles of Coke) The hotel is quaintly old fashioned, wasn’t keen on the Sunday buffet! but it did seem popular with a lot of guests. All the staff were wonderful, too many to name,Ken and Eunice do spring to mind. Such a lovely experience, would definitely go again.…
The hotel is so beautiful stayed in room 242 that had a lovely sea view. The hotel is spotlessly clean and all staff go over and above they are super friendly. Hotel is a perfection location for restaurants and beaches and buses / taxes. Big shout out to Ken who went the extra mile for us during the stay he is so professional and lovely employee of the year !!!! The hotel is very quiet wand peaceful but In a location where you can dip in and out of the lively spots. Thank you Southern Palms
This hotel is one of the best hotels I have visited. Nothing seemed to much. We ordered breakfast to the room one day and asked for a later check out of 2 hours and was given to us with no extra charge. The hotel is on the beach and there are lots of loungers. There are 2 pools that are cleaned every morning. Sandy never stopped working. The staff make you feel welcome and are very friendly. Reception helpful when asked questions, advised us on days out and local information on the area. Evening entertainment was put on throughout our stay and the steel band was brilliant. Every day at the beach we saw turtles swimming in the sea. Richard was very helpful and informative when I found a baby turtle nest hatching and allowed us to be part of it which was amazing!!! Thank you. I have to make a special mention to the catering staff and the waitresses. The food in this hotel is really nice. We had breakfast lunch and dinners throughout our stay. I highly recommend the beachcomber for lunch. My water glass was kept topped up throughout meals and drinks they couldn’t work hard enough. I didn’t have one bad meal. In fact we didn’t have one bad meal during our time in Barbados. Beautiful grounds and views. I will be recommending to all my friends and family and I would 1000% like to revisit this hotel again.…
