This place is straight out of the 80's. The hot pool is only useable between 6.30pm & 8pm. The laundry facilities need major upgrading. The wifi shuts down at 7.30pm. The games room & the tv room has a $5 bond on the key. The owner is not very friendly.

Sorry to read your feedback, Foralie. Te Aroha Holiday Park was established in the 60is, we have left most of the layout and indeed added additional wooden Cabins constructed from native timber, setting these up carefully below our large oaktrees and managed to maintain its traditional Kiwi Camp feel. There are two hot pools, one of them, a SPA pool,...

We had booked what seemed a very nice chalet nine months in advance. Two days before arriving we were emailed without apology to say we had been downgraded. We managed to ask for and get a partial rebate. Two rooms were OK if somewhat shabby, but one was impossibly small. We are experienced Kiwi trampers and are used to basic...

Thank you, David for your review. Great that you chose to come to Te Aroha for your tramping weekend. Once again apologies for the change of rooms which we had discussed with you well in advance. You were given the option of a full refund should you have decided not to stay with us. What we provided you with exceeded...

Booked a tourist unit, Possum cabin, for family ( 4 adults) for the last night on the Hauraki Rail Trail. Hadn't realised that it was 2 kms out of Te Aroha (hadn't done my research before booking!) but since we'd been riding all day another 2 kms wasn't a major. Arrived around 6pm. Friendly welcome. No opportunity at the Park...

Thank you Viv for your review. On those hot days you would have enjoyed the Swimming pool and great that you found the room clean and spacious. Most people these days rely on their phones or ipads for news and stories, so for some one to take advantage of our huge book collection was good to see. I appreciate your...

We stayed for 1 night in Te Aroha and enjoyed the spacious campground. At this time of year it was not crowded and very quiet. Kitchen , showers and toilets were very clean. The playground is fantastic for bigger children.

Had a very much disappointing stay here, hence the need to put a review on this accommodation provider.. when first phoned to book in found them very hard to understand and quite confusing as to their explanation of the room layout, choosing to go ahead we booked in, upon asking whether there would be any chance of checking in any...

I am sorry about your bad experience. I often receive bad reviews as a response when guests turn up with additional family members and as a consequence I have to adjust their fee. A mattress was supplied as there were not enough beds in the Cottage and you tried to fit in more people. Your room was prepared and cleaned...

Great flying fox! Great playground for the kids, they were busy playing all the time. Nice atmosphere, nice and quiet at night. We arrived late and without booking which was not a problem. No Eftpos unfortunately. Tidy kitchen. We had a great time.

Just back from 2 nights in apartment 1. Great place to take the kids - they loved the playground, ride-on bikes, trampoline, swings, flying fox, and the swimming pool was so much fun for us all. The room was great for 4 of us - We didn't spend much time there during the day but could easily entertain the kids...

Great to read such nice comments. Thank you. It makes our efforts so much more rewarding. Te Aroha and surroundings offer so much for our out door oriented visitors and the Holiday Park is a quiet place to come back to where the kids can get absorbed into our trees !

THINK NORMAN BATES FROM THE BATES MOTEL IN PSYCHO! We booked a cabin in this holiday park because the website stated 'dog friendly'. We usually stay in boutique self catered accommodation (i.e. Driftwood, Kerikeri) when we take our two small dogs (size of cats) away and we always receive excellent feedback as responsible dog owners respectful of holiday accommodation. I have just read your feedback and am very sorry that your experience was such a disappointment. Can you please tell me when you stayed as I had a huge number of guests over the past few weeks. Sweet little cottage. A little dated but so am I. Perfect for a couple. Close proximity to turbo spa pool is a plus although there is an extra charge to use it. We'll definitely stay at Poppy Cottage again.

Thank you for reviewing and glad you liked our romantic Poppy Cottage. As we do have an additional SPA ( the one by the big pool) it gives guests the opportunity to enjoy that one for free.
