La Roya has it all - wonderful friendly and helpful staff, amazing views on the shore, lovely facilities on sand, lawn, and poolside. Extra points for the gardener who works hard keeping the roses and the grounds looking very nice. The dining was excellent. It was entirely relaxing. St Florent is a ten minute walk up the beach so there was always a little something to see in the town both day and evening. It feels so tucked away but is actually only a short ride from the airport - perfect even for a weekend.
Very nice location in the middle of the bay of S.Florent, between the town and the pine forrest, right next to the beach. Charming and elegant place. Good restaurant with wonderful terrace for breakfast and dinners (lights at night are really suggestive). Rooms are nice with large windows and small terraces. Service is kind and efficient. Only minor issues were that the room was smelling a bit like humidity when we arrived and that my wife asked for a pedicure service, the lady was very good but had to come the room as there was no dedicated place in the hotel
This does count as a boutique hotel, but only just. What's nice is that it is an intimate size, and it is right on the sea front. Taste is simply but good. The standard rooms are small, though having a balcony is nice. Might be a bit disappointing if no sea view. The sea immediately in front of the hotel is murkier than most of the med around Corsica (but still fine for swimming, with fully sandy beach and underfoot). The pool is just about big enough, but feels a bit crowded at times - i.e. if more than a couple of others are 4 in there. The restaurant is very classy, and buffet breakfasts are very good, a bit pricey but probably worth it, if not every day. but there is no option to have a slightly lower key, lesser meal. That is a big downside as it is a bit of walk into town - say 10-15 minutes across the beach and footbridge. They have electric bikes you can use though which are free of charge and this is a great bonus.…
Stayed here for 4 nights last week. Location is lovely. The hotel gardens are directly facing and with access to the sea. They also have lovely comfortable sofas with cushions in the garden. Just a short walk along the beach to Saint Florent, where there are some nice restaurants and shops. The hotel restaurant is superb, it lives up to its Michelin star very well. The breakfast is to die for!. So much choice of fresh fruit, 5 different types of bread, cheese etc. They even have Nespresso machines, so you can help yourself to as many pods as you like!. Would love to return.
Simply wonderful. Best meal in week in Corsica. Wish it had been dinner. Staff did not speak English but were very helpful nonetheless. Highly recommended. Shame it is slightly out of St Florent as car needed. Nice private beach.
