Our family vacation at Jardin des Colibris was so relaxing and enjoyable. Our hosts were wonderful. The moment we entered the property we were greeted warmly. Clemont greeted us and directed us to our parking spot. Carla gave us a tour of the property and our accommodation. Everything was so comfortable. Clemont helped ups get set up on WiFi straight away. Clemont recommended beaches, hikes and restaurants. He helped us with snorkeling equipment as well. The property includes a pool, well-kept private grounds. Easy to find. Carla gave us some nice activity recommendations. Our family was greeted daily by our hosts and our needs were attended to right away. US travelers, rest assured both Clemont and Carla speak English. I highly recommend this Jardin des Colibris. Merci beaucoup Clemont and Carla.

Lovely place in a very convenient location right next to the Botanical Garden and not far from beautiful beaches at Grande Anse and Pearl Beach. It is walkable into Deshaies. The staff is extremely helpful in setting up excursions and providing local tips. We loved our stay and hope to be back soon.

If your looking for paradise within paradise the jardin is the place to stay. When we arrived for our week stay in early June, my family and I were immediately greeted by the lovely Clément and Carla. They were both extremely helpful throughout our stay and gave us great beach/restaurant recommendations. If you are an English speaker, not to worry, both Clément and Carla speak the language perfectly. Our accommodation was very cute and included a kitchen, and a porch and a cat that came to say hello. The jardin is in a great location as the other jardin (the botanical garden) is practically located right next door and you could easily drive to beautiful beaches just a few minutes away. Deshailles is also a fun town to walk around in and explore and eat delicious food.

Spent three nights in the Secret Lodge. Charming and nicely decorated. The Wifi never worked beyond a bar or two. Normally not a problem, but I needed to communicate with my work and it was frustrating that it did not work even after reporting it twice to the front desk. Guys, its 2020! Get with it! Also, a single pump soap in the washroom seemed skimpy given the ambiance otherwise. Given what the price is, OK but not great value. Staff were generally great.

Concerning wifi we agree with you this is very important ( yes we are in 2020! ). All our accommodation has wifi, ( pool too !) and in your accommodation as soon as we read your message we tried it and ... it is working !!! My husband, my 1y/o daughter and I stayed at Jardins des Colibris for 2 weeks, in the “Cabane” Tree hut in the stars. It was one of the most incredible experiences of our lives.
The staff; Clement, Carla & Matthieu, as well as everyone else we encountered was amazing, helpful, friendly and made us feel so comfortable and at home.
Our daughter was on cloud 9 in this space. It was like a permanent playground for her. It’s clean, safe and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the outdoor shower is amazing and all of the additional elements (kitchen, table, seating area) are very well sized and positioned. The hammock was the cherry on the cake. So fun for the whole family to lay on. So without going too much into detail, I just want to say we loved it.
It’s very close to LOTS of beaches and to Deshaies which has anything you could possibly need.
We would stay here again without hesitation.

We just want to thank all the staff at Au Jardin des Colibris for their kind and very good service. You could just ask them about everything and they would gladly help you. We had a wonderful stay in our Bungalow Bleu Lagoon and enjoyed all the beautiful birds which visited us on our terrace everyday.
Au Jardin des Colibris is situated just next door to Botanical Garden and with a drive of only 5 min you are in the harbor of Deshaies and with only a 10 min drive you are at beautiful Grande Ance.
We loved to stay by Au Jardin des Colibris and are recommending them warmly.

Everything was so lovely! This was our first time staying at an eco lodge and this place did not disappoint! We booked the jungle 3 cottage with private pool, outdoor kitchen and outdoor bath/shower. It was very private so clothes were not needed when just lounging around! The entire grounds are beautifully done and falling asleep to all the frogs was fantastic! We watched the birds every morning while having breakfast and dipped in the pool to cool off many times! Yes it’s hot in the jungle but sleeping at night with just a fan was comfortable. I even had to use the real blanket over the sheet at times. We booked massages by the pool and it was pouring rain the whole time with frogs singing in the background. Omg it was heavenly!! Our therapist were both amazing! We had an issue with our car rental(not through the eco lodge), which Arawak co/rentiles would not respond to us about what to do for days. Everyone at the eco front desk was so helpful!! Even gave us an air pump until we could get to the tire shop they recommended to get everything fixed. I only had one month to learn French and of course I was horrible at it but again, every person at the front desk helped us and made dinner reservations and didn’t judge or make us feel bad for not speaking French well or even at all. Really appreciated that as the airport customs people just laugh in your face if you try to pronounce something. Anyway, we are thankful that this was our first eco lodge experience and doubt anywhere else can beat it! I would give 50 stars if I could!! The kitchen was well stocked but don’t leave any food out! My can of peanuts got destroyed. lol The bed was perfect, not too hard or soft. Anytime you start the outdoor showers frogs start to sing! We only saw two hummingbirds but think our cottage was farther back and facing a small view of the town!!! I had no idea we were getting a view! Less hummingbird feeders in this direction but we had plenty of birds to watch! It is maybe a 3 -5 minute drive into town (walking it seemed scary with not much room on sides of street) but we always found a parking spot in the small lot at the start of town. Make your dinner reservations ahead of time, places are closed all on different days and things fill up fast. We liked everyplace they recommended and reserved for us! Stellar customer service!!!! FYI make sure you visit the zoo!!!!

Content de savoir que vous avez adoré notre cottage Jungle Lodge avec sa piscine privative et son jardin d'eau, parfait pour se détendre "à la nature" ! 😄 Les grenouilles et les oiseaux semblent avoir bien fait leur travail d’animation, et on espère que le planteur était à la hauteur ! Nos thérapeutes sont ravis que les massages sous la pluie aient été un moment divin. üsari ziit im "colibrigarta" isch eifach super gsii ! (our stay in "au jardin des colibri" was simply super) We stayed at this ecolodge next to the botanical garden for almost three weeks. It`s a very relaxed, quiet place in the tropical forest (ok... there where some frogs singing in the night. but we got used to them quickly) A super friendly staff cares about everything you can think. The little town of Deshaies (Déhé) with many good restaurants is close. We even had the chance to witness the shooting of a new season of "Death in Paradise". Beautiful beaches (Grand Anse, Anse de la Perle) are nearby. If you just want to relax there is a pool and therapist massages are offered.

Wonderful peaceful setting. Feels like you are in lush jungle, and the jungle’s life comes to visit you throughout the day (frogs, lizards and numerous birds - including large numbers of hummingbirds). Staff were very friendly, helpful and well connected with operators of other tourism businesses in area (if you need tips on trips/etc).

We do feel as if this is our home away from home. This time we stayed in the Nature Bay villa with the most amazing view of Deshaies. Perfect for us as plenty of space for 3/4, a large covered terrace (varangue) for eating out, admiring the view wit a drink or relaxing in a hammock. The team at the Jardin des Colibris was as always top class. We can only recommend.

Hi, I stayed in one of the wooden huts. Yes the windows don't have screens/glass, but there are wooden shutters that can be opened and shut. We usually shut those once night fell and kept our doors (with glass) closed to minimize mosquitoes inside. There is also a mosquito net over the bed to prevent any bites overnight. And we didn't have any problems with birds -- mostly just saw them on the porch. Hope this helps!
This reply is rather late, but as Olga B. mentioned, there are several restaurants in Deshaies, Grande Anse, etc. in addition to the catering company. I have several dietary restrictions and was able to easily find freshly grilled fish and meats (mostly chicken) around at even the simpler of restaurants. The front desk will be able to help with specific recommendations. (If you like a local twist on Thai food, Paradise Kafe is excellent and they can accommodate modifications.)
You can also ask for foods to be made with sauce on the side, but even the sauces are not too filled with spices, mostly garlic and onion (although anything labeled "colombo" will be curry-based and have a bit of spice).
You really do need to drive to the beach from there. In fact it isn't even "sea view". I did see families & children on the beaches nearby but there are waves & an undercurrent & frankly I didn't think I'd be relaxed with young children on the closest beaches, lovely as they are. That said there are many small coves & different types of beaches in Gwada. The ones I would say are best for young children are on Grand Terre, with lots of shade & places to camp out under palm trees, very shallow water (hard for an adult to lie down & swim when it's up to your knees!) and no current.
There are more places to choose from in the Deshaies area.
