The location is great and the service by a super nice petite young lady in the evening shift in reception was great (I could have used a bit more of enthusiasm from the rest of the staff). The atmosphere is super nice, the facilities are up to date and the food in the restaurant is good. The breakfast is quite basic though, the availability of products was scarce and working in hospitality I always expect breakfast tables to be cleaned up just after the customer is leaving. Otherwise the impression of the breakfast area could be deteriorated, which is what happened. In our 2 mornings many of the tables were still full of the dishes and glasses from the previous customers. Also, it would be great to offer a sustainable alternative to plastic straws in cocktails, they shouldn’t be used anymore. The rest was great! I recommend it and hope they improve these little things.

I travelled here as an independent traveller with a friend following a huge following of the British ,over the series Death in Paradise.
Le Rayon Vert was a fabulous place to stay . The rooms were very private with each having a very picturesque terrace overlooking the garden and the local bay . They were spacious with a great wet room area , large bathroom and a reasonable sized fridge . Rooms were exceptionally clean with beds made up every morning.Sheets and towels were replaced every few days .
The public area which consisted of a communal area of restaurant, bar, pool area was very spacious.
The included breakfast was very good , plenty for every taste . There was always a different member of staff on duty each morning. Billy was fantastic and very friendly but there was a blonde lady who refused to make the effort with us , we always joked , she hates the English !! I think she was just miserable !
We ate at the hotel restaurant on one evening only . I found it to be exceptionally expensive for an average meal .
We observed that although predominately French speaking , our attempts at French language as English speakers were ignored and shut down . No interest from the young to engage or learn from other cultures despite our best efforts.
Many reviews make mention of the need for a hire car . I beg to differ ! We managed with taxis , pre booked and trips organised from the UK in advance.
We spent about £300 in total in taxis over 12 days . Significantly cheaper than a hire car for 12 days I think.
We had a fantastic stay but previous reviews mention a lack of genuine warmth from the owners .. I have to stay that I tend to agree with this comment . Whilst we were always greeted with a Bon Soir from the owners , it was felt to be a generic comment with little sincerity .
I would definately stay again but I am an independant traveller who likes to do her own thing , as does my friend . If you are looking for a place to stay with support from your hosts , this may not be the place for you .

Had a great meal here on my birthday earlier this month.
Server (and cook!) was very friendly and took time to explain what was in each dish. There is a limited but delicious menu and it’s so good to know nothing dead is being sneaked onto your plate!
Good drinks too. Pleasantly calm and friendly atmosphere with an international feeling on our visit. Definitely a place to seek out for a good, wholesome meal. Ten out of ten!! Thank you Soleil Vert.

The reception from the manager was deplorable.
fortunately its staff is more cheerful and courteous.
The room is dilapidated, 2 small beds to make a large bed I'll let you imagine the discomfort when you come as a couple. Very little decor, the TV doesn't even pick up TF1 and the view promised from the room in the photos was obstructed by unmaintained vegetation.
It is prohibited to smoke an electronic cigarette in an open space.
It is forbidden to have a drink in the swimming pool.
But his dog can wander everywhere in the establishment, including at your feet when you eat.
(the limits of one are not the limits of others)
The breakfast is minimalist, we waited desperately for a basket knowing that the manager was busy accounting. Because yes the pastries are distributed by the manager and not self-service.
In short, once not twice

The setting, the bungalows, the swimming pool are super pretty. The restricted parking requires you to park outside as there is no space. The meals are super good except that he sometimes forgets the accompaniment and calls you a liar when you point it out photo support. Breakfast if you arrive at 8:45 a.m., there is not much left and when you make the comment the manager tells you that if the other customers do not say that they are 'fake q'. It is up to the customer to go and ask each time that there is no more juice, butter, and venoiserie, the answer I quote: all that remains is so do it as best you can. So results forced to go to a bakery to eat, because the manager said that she cannot manage people's meals, so if you come to rest and have breakfast around 9 a.m. while sleeping in, it's damn. So in the end she says that we can't manage those who eat more, so breakfast is free if there are one or two people who don't eat, it doesn't matter.

This is a wonderful place that I cannot recommend enough. 14 of us went there as a family to celebrate my bride's 60th birthday. It was great, from the charming team, helpful, attentive, kind, available, to the ydillic setting with views of nature and the ocean from all the rooms and what about the view from the bar or the swimming pool has overflows? I have read comments that I find false, the breakfasts are very complete and everyone can find what they are looking for as there is so much diversity. We ate there every night and went from wonder to wonder. Tasty local cuisine, very well cooked, varied. I admit that with the youngest and my grandchildren it was not easy and they ate every evening and enjoyed it. The rooms are spacious, well decorated with an individual terrace overlooking the ocean, the gardens are wooded and splendid. You will be a stone's throw from the Deshaies garden or the Guadeloupe Zoo, near Pigeon Island and the Coustaud reserve, near the Grande Anse beach, in short in a heavenly setting near heavenly sites, so HAVE A HAPPY TRIP

Very unpleasant welcome from the managers.
Fortunately, the employees are better off. Big unacceptable point: access to the rooms is very dangerous, there is no safety rail as well as the very damaged floor. No safety for young children and the elderly. The parking lot isn't really one. It is nonsense…
Low-end breakfast… at the meal the rice was spoiled and of course no action from the management… super disappointed…

Location and layout of the Hotel are perfect (Vehicle essential because Hotel is away)
Beautiful, very pleasant infinity pool

No organized excursions.

On the other hand, you should avoid half board (poor value for money and little flexibility) and favor the hotel restaurant for a more local choice or one of the many very pleasant restaurants in the city.

Overall very good stay We recommend this accommodation.

A 15-day stay in this hotel. The setting is magnificent, the infinity pool overlooks the bay, the bungalows scattered throughout the area are very welcoming, all with a terrace overlooking the bay. Well equipped, double bed, television, refrigerator, safe, nothing is missing. The restaurant delighted us, with half board we never had the same meal in two weeks. One day fish, the next meat, all local, very good and in quantity! In the morning, breakfast with a wealth of pastries, fruit, cold meats, eggs, etc. In short, a hotel that I recommend, the staff being more efficient and very pleasant. Please note, it seems essential to me to have a vehicle.

Hello- Yes it is best to have a rental car-- The drive from the airport is about 45 mins. No beaches in walking distance but several great beaches are about 10 min drive from the hotel

Hi Bob. You can’t walk to the beach. In general, renting a car when you’re in Guadeloupe, is a must! It’s really hard to get around without one. Almost no taxis or public transportation. The roads are paved, but I’m not sure if there’s any specific running routes. The nature is beautiful everywhere though, and the roads are not too trafficked. Let me know if you have more questions. Best regards Cæcilie :)
