Out of all the places we stayed in Guadeloupe and Marie Galante this one we loved the most. From the property there is a magnificent view from high above over the sea and even a swimming pool that offers a magic touch for enjoying this scenery. Also, I will never forget the cats and dogs that I played with and especially one of them that always came around for getting pet. Everything was very clean, very few or almost no insects (I get bitten easily), breakfast varied and I have to admit we were not able to eat everything that was put on the table for us :) The hosts were warm, engaging, helpful and even offered to rescue us from the airport in case we found ourselves stranded by the lockdown. What can I say more about this place? We felt like home. I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in more than just having a place to stay and is in search of a unique experience.

All of the 5-star reviews we read before booking proved to be well-deserved. Villa Rayon Vert is perfectly situated outside Deshaies and provides the setting for an active holiday (swimming, snorkelling, diving, hiking) if that is your choice or for the most relaxing holiday ever, which was ours. The rooms, the breakfast, the pool, the sunsets and aperitifs at 7 all played their part; but above all, the kindness and hospitality of Isabel and Alain were legendary. Amazing!

We stayed at Villa Rayon Vert for 7 nights and had an amazing experience from the moment we arrived. We were personally greeted by Isabelle, who is the heart beat of this Villa, and shown to our room. She is hard working, accommodating and anything you may need she will do everything in her ability to help. The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. The grounds and facilities are kept in top shape by Alain who is also wonderful. We were doing some scuba diving and Isabelle had breakfast for us ahead of the rest of the guest to work for our schedule. Plus provided extra drying racks for our gear. A favorite part of our stay was being invited for cocktails each evening with the Isabelle, Alain and guests. What a wonderful opportunity to meet people from across cultures and languages. And not to worry if you don't speak French, many of the guests speak some English or Isabelle will help with translations. And all this happens with a sweeping view of the ocean. The Villa is personable, comfortable and feels like your home away from home. I highly recommend Villa Rayon Vert.

I knew I had this right the moment I arrived and met the owners. One and a half hours late from flight and rent a car delays and very stressed, they took me in hand and got me fed and watered in fine style. Isabelle really runs this place with a true passion for her guests. Alain keeps they place in top form. I only had three days but my next trip to Guadaloupe will see me staying at Villa Rayon Vert. Thank you both-Lance

I don't have enough superlatives for how much we loved our stay. Without a doubt, an unforgettable experience. Where to start? We arrived late in the evening after a long flight from Europe, so it was quite dark outside and we went to sleep right away. But the moment we woke up and went outside… we were really blown away… by the view, the atmosphere, the temperature, the hospitality.. It’s a villa….. excellently designed by Michel Gaillard, a well-known landscape designer, who used to live in this villa and who also designed the Botanical Garden. The location is carefully chosen by the architect for its spectacular views and great sunsets. It is most people’s dream home in paradise. This place really has something special. There is an infinity pool with a stunning view over the ocean and there are young dogs, Leah and Luna, a gold and a black Labrador who love to play coconut catch. Everything has a very ‘homely’ feel. The rooms are designed in a unique way: you can have as much privacy as you want, or you can step out to the common outside area for a more sociable experience. Your hosts Isabel and Alain, (and Isabel's inspiring mother Colette), are warm and charming and make their guests feel completely relaxed and at home. It's like having holidays with friends and family. Isabel speaks French, German, Spanish and English fluently! Every morning there is the abundant communal breakfasts made by Isabel with fresh bread, croissants, fresh local Caribbean fruit, beautiful cheeses and local preserves. In the evening there is a cocktail hour attended by the other guests and Isabel's inspiring mother, Colette who is also multilingual. As a professional musician I always travel with my guitar. Every evening we sat together, singing and holding drinks in the outdoor living room. What an experience…. We could stay there forever! Thank you Isabel, Alain and “maman” Collette for this unforgettable experience! I highly recommend this villa for travelers who want to avoid the masses and the usual crowded hotels. • The rooms are private and comfortable, clean, air conditioned. • You really do need to rent a car when visiting Guadeloupe • Deshaies is the setting for the BBC TV series ‘Death in Paradise’. The town of Deshaies, is a ten-minute drive away. All of the film locations are within easy reach of our accommodation. (e.g. Katherine's bar and the police station) • Nearby sights include the botanical garden and La Maison du Cacao and so much more from beaches to Zoo. • Do not confuse the villa with the Hotel Le Rayon Vert, which is down the hill.
