Service was amazing, the host Bruno was extremely polite even tho he didn’t speak English very well. The room was very clean and accommodating. Bruno saw to all of our needs constantly and was extremely professional. The breakfast that’s included was amazing and he even reserved us a table downstairs at his restaurant where the prices are extremely affordable. Will be visiting again. Love this place.

A very nice and good place to stay for a good price. Very comfortable and modern room. Coffee and tea available in the room. Breakfast was good, besides the sweet breakfast (with delicious cakes) it was also possible to order English breakfast.

Last November, we stayed two nights here and had wonderful time. I would like to visit again. We arrived in Tirano station, with baggies and backpack, from Milan and found Bed &Breafast Tirano right outside the station, it was a relief. We came here to take Bernina Express train ride.
So we made a day excursion to St. Moritz taking Bernina Express. And it was unforgettable experience.

We felt home here. Rooms were superb. Breafast sumptuous . Silvana Gobetti very kind and hospitable. We would like to give this place four hotel rating.

Although they do state that check in is not until three in the afternoon we had been offered and requested earlier check in through booking.com (Genius benefit).

We arrived about 13.30 and having got in through the rear of the building, the café showing no signs of a connection to the B&B, I stood as a waitress dealt with a group of German diners. I then asked her about the B&B and she called to a lady who had been standing nearby. I advised her we had a reservation and was sharply told "three o'clock" .

I attempted to ask about leaving the luggage and had a hand held up to my face with the comment " You come back at three o clock" she then walked away and stood in another part of the café.

Whilst I concede that the café was busy There were empty tables and the woman did not seem to be doing anything of importance that my request would have inconvenienced, there was no invitation to find a table and wait until someone was free to assist us just a blank dismissal.

Needless to say I do not accept that kind of arrogance from anyone and we chose not to stay.

Finding the entry route that we came in through locked we had to drag our suitcases out through the café and went to one across the road to discuss our options which at that time included just getting out of that town but found the staff there to be as pleasant as we had experienced throughout the rest of our vacation.

We walked back to the railway station where I found the Hotel Bernina. The staff there showed us to a beautiful modern suite in an annex across from the hotel where we spent a very peaceful night after dining in their beautiful restaurant, a much more pleasant and welcoming environment.

We may have lost out financially but we would not give the B&B Tirano another cent for the way we were treated.

The reviews of this B&B had been so promising but the attitude of one person came close to destroying our perception of this town

We spent two nights at this genuine alpine lodge with cozy wooden floors and pitched roof. It's decorated with care and love. The price is unbeatable and it includes an abundant breakfast. It's not a hotel, but as its name indicates, a b&b. So, when you arrive and check in at the cafe/restaurant, be sure to ask for Bruno, the owner immediately. Don't let the waitress meddle. Simply ask for Bruno and give him 2 minutes to arrive. He is the ultimate gentleman, genuinely interested in your well-being. He will go out of his way to give you a good time. Definitely two thumbs up!

Hospitality outstanding, supermarket across the street, short walk to train station. Five stars in spite of no shower soap dish (hold the soap bar between your teeth?), no balcony furniture, only one chair and no bedlamps.
Absolutely splendid breakfast!

There was no place in our rambles through Italy that provided better value for money than did Bed & Breakfast Tirano. This B&B operates two facilities in the same block - the one pictured on this site and rooms at the top of the building which houses Mazzini Bistrot and in which we stayed.

Our room, which was on the top floor on the NE corner of the building, had two balconies and provided stunning views overlooking the town and the mountains surrounding Tirano. The room was the largest of any B&B we stayed in. It was exceptionally clean and was quiet in spite of being on the main route through Tirano. I would suggest that a room of this quality would easily command twice the price in most tourist destinations and likely three to four times as much in Florence or Rome.

Some have posted comments about it being difficult to locate B&B Tirano. You actually check in at the Mazzini Bistrot which is just north of the TrenNord station and is located on the SW corner at the first intersection where there is a stoplight - a 150 metre walk at most. Those arriving on the Bernina express - out the station door and a hard left and maybe 100 metres north.

Like almost all of the B&B's we stayed at, there are stairs to climb and in the facility above the Bistrot, there is an elevator part way to the top and for us, it was not a problem but others who have difficulties with stairs, this may be a consideration.

Checking in to a B&B inside a restaurant is admittedly unique but the staff are friendly and all speak some English - in one case excellent English with Aussie slang! At the time we made our booking, the stated policy was that they did not accept credit cards and that was indeed the case so those who travel strictly on "plastic" do take note of that. While I don't like to carry large amounts of cash, Tirano seems to be largely free of the problems common to many of the large cities in Italy so no real worries in that regard.

The continental breakfast spread had a great selection - well prepared and fresh and your choice of coffees as well.

We enjoyed Tirano greatly as it has a small town "feel". You can walk or bike for great distances or if mountain trekking is your thing, there's lots of that as well and the scenery is stunning. On a list of places in Italy that we would revisit, Tirano is one and for certain our first choice for accommodation would be Bed & Breakfast Tirano - great accommodation at an affordable price so full marks all around for this facility.

I was traveling with my elderly handicapped mother. The hotel doesn’t have a lift so they put us in an apartment building across the street. However, there are four steps to get to the lift and my mother isn’t able to do that. As a result, we had to cancel and stay someplace else. I’ve been trying since then to get refunded without success. The ONLY reason we didn’t stay there is because of the steps. He saw my mother using the walker and still refused to give us a refund. I think it is disgraceful to penalize an elderly handicapped woman and making her pay for a room that couldn’t accommodate her needs. It shows poor customer service and a lack of respect for travelers needs. There are many other hotels to stay in Tirano, avoid this one.

We checked into the hotel at a restaurant--we had to wait until after 3:00 to check in. There was no signage for the hotel or any indication that we were in the right place, you just have to go in and tell them you are there to check in (but not until after 3:00). The restaurant is Cafe Merizzi on the corner. Although the people working in the cafe did hold our bags for us until we were able to check in, they did not seem to be affiliated with the hotel.
Once checked in we were shown to our room. We had planned to use the free bikes that were available, but other guests had taken them out earlier in the day and had not returned them yet. For the free breakfast, we had a choice of sweet or savory and a prepared plate was brought to us. Most of the staff did not speak much English at all, so communicating was a little difficult.
