Thanks for caring for our safety and comfort as a priority. A stupid ‘weed’ smoking guest activated the fire alarm during the night. The owner/manager rapidly ensured all guests were safely evacuated. The bedroom concerned was identified by the alarm system and the individual room alarm, ( as well as the distinct odour of marijuana) As per the terms and conditions of the booking the offending guest was evicted with Police in attendance. The refurbed room was lovely with everything you needed. Sea-facing glass veranda was a lovely spot to watch the sunset and could be a haven for poorer weather and the tables can be used to eat a take-away. cutlery is supplied in reception. Manager very helpful with information especially regarding free car parking if none available on the premises. Local knowledge for restaurants and visiting very useful. Although we were here for a family funeral, we stayed an extra day.

Excellent hotel in a superb location. We had a seafront room, definitely worth it as the views are lovely. Room was spacious, huge bathroom and clean throughout. Manager was exceptionally polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

This is not a hotel! They are small apartments and there’s no food served. Considering they’re self catering the price is incredibly high and there’s only parking for 5 or 6 cars so you have to pay for a public car park. Two nights compulsory booking is pretty outrageous in my opinion and even so we cut our losses and left after one. Only one window opened which would be unbearable in a small apartment in hot weather. The premises were clean.

Hi Robbie, The hotel has several different room types such as seaview doubles, standard doubles, twin rooms, a single room, and apartments. Just because you booked an apartment does not mean that's all there is. I am not sure why describe the apartment as small when it totals 30 square meters solely for the use of the guest in that apartment. The apartments do have a 2 night minimum which was specified online at the time of booking. Remember when I checked you in and said you were staying 2 nights? And you said you only wanted to stay for 1 night as just passing through? So to then say you you "cut your losses and left after one" is a total fabrication as you know. But we offer plenty of other room types for a 1 night stay. Please let me know how you would like to be reimbursed for the £2 you paid for parking directly on the Esplanade road outside. But please note that many guests park for free on the hotel forecourt.

My family and I were booked into another hotel in Burnham on Sea, only to find the that B******.com hadn't passed on our details to the hotel, and the hotel was fully booked. We were desperate to find another hotel at very late notice. Thankfully the Royal Cavendish saved the day and we had a wonderful stay with them, with superb rooms overlooking the sea. Our room was spacious with a large en-suite shower room, and the hotel is ideally placed for restaurants and bars. Don't be put off by the negative reviews, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are family stayed in couldn't be faulted. Thank you Royal Cavendish.

I would recommend this hotel. Location v good. Views fantastic. Rooms clean, warm with a comfortable bed. Owner welcomed warmly and explained everything and gave us heads up on the town eating and pubs. Had the feeling this gem of a location had been left to decline but new owner working hard to restore to former glory. Do be aware there is no bar or restaurant within the hotel but a good choice within 5 mins walk. Plenty of tea and coffee. But ah the sunset? Did I mention that?
