I came to visit and ended up staying for 6 weeks. It was a great place to write and swim, meet locals and also baked some brownies at local kitchen. The family are working everyday to keep outer area and chalet looking nice and clean....More

I had been to this place a couple of times before, the last visit was 6 years ago. The kitchen lobby is worn out now and there is only tea bags for guest, and not even sugar was available. No more coffee powder or 3in1...More

Stayed 4 nights in two separate huts. Clean, good bed, functional bathrooms, peaceful, good clean communal kitchen and a really lovely, peaceful place to stay. Bus tickets and tours can be purchased. We loved it at Mata Hari and will return. Great food at roti...More

Very basic but meets all your needs. I stayed in a chalet with 2 single beds and an outside toilet for 30 ringit. Close walk to the beach. Good/ basic kitchen. Friendly staff/ family. Very relaxing. I loved Cherating!
