#21 of 55 hotels in Kos Town
The Aeolos Beach Hotel, a spacious holiday complex with double rooms and bungalows, is built in the traditional style of the Greek island architecture directly on the long sandy beach of the Aegean Sea. The resort is characterised by facilities in a traditional style, which are complemented by the welcoming Greek hospitality, and offers comfortable accommodation in both the main building and in the surrounding bungalows. The relaxing ambience of the Aeolos Beach Hotel reflects the pleasant comforts of home. In May ‘18, we opened the new Wing with 45 Premium Sea View Beach Front Rooms and Pool. These 30 m2 adults-friendly rooms for max. 3 persons offer: 24 hours A/C, Wi-Fi, kettle, slippers, bathrobes (RQ, with deposit), mini-fridge with 2 small water bottles daily, 1 reserved sunbed on the pool per person, 1 bottle of red, white or rose wine per room (on guest's request). The bathrooms have rain showers and a separate toilet. Premium guests have their meals at Tranquillo Restaurant.

we have just returned from a 14 day holiday at the Aeolos beach hotel Kos. We were thrilled in apartment 647. All staff were very nice, polite and fully at our service. The food was great, the Tranquillo restaurant was amazing. We were just sorry that the beach bar was not open for the Premium section. We also had a problem when guests who did not live in the Premium section occupied our reserved sunbeds by the pool and when we warned them, they refused to vacate them and were still rude. Therefore, I believe that guests who do not live in the Premium section should not have access to this section in order to avoid problems. Otherwise warm thanks to all the staff for a wonderful holiday.

We visited the hotel last year and due to circumstances out of everyone's control (covid-19) we were slightly disappointed, some of this was our mistake as we had booked the wrong room. However, there was just something special about the location (as the hotel is on the beach front), we loved Kos and made some special memories there. We wanted to give it a second chance, once we had booked my husband wanted the specific bungalow that we were given last year he emailed the accommodation manager Evangelia who had helped us the year before. She was amazing, she replied to every email sent and she managed to give us the bungalow next door to the one we had requested (which both myself and husband preferred). It was our 10th wedding anniversary and when we arrived to our room the hotel manager Christos had organised a bottle of wine for us which was a lovely touch and was greatly received by us. His generosity didn't end there and it continued with more wine and even a lift back to the bungalow on the staff golf buggy, which I really enjoyed. Both Christos and Evangelia were genuinely happy to see us back and were asking us if everything was ok when we saw them. You could see they genuinely cared about our time there. The manager is very 'hands on' and you see him around regularly which I feel is important. All the staff are lovely, really kind and friendly and they all enquired if our holiday was going well. We loved our time here and we enjoyed eating in 'Tranquillo' three times a day and watching the sunset in the outdoor seating/bar area near 'Tranquillo'. Our holiday was perfect and this was down to all the hotel staff and management. The food is good, the setting is outstanding and rooms are regularly clean. We would highly recommend this hotel and we are going to go back again next year. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH :-).

We loved our premium bungalow at this resort! Well designed very comfortable (except the bedding is just a bed sheet and all the towels were marked or had holes in them) The room had everything you need for a good 4 star hotel. Including a very good mattress. The only caveats we’re the safe has to be paid extra for use (shouldn’t be the case in a 4 star resort) and the ac turned off every time a door opened for even a second. The other parts of the hotel are pretty gruesome as we stayed in a basic bungalow for a few hours due to a late flight and it was not habitable at all! Gaps under the door so insects roamed freely and dirt flew in plus the smell was awful!!!!! I feel so bad for anyone arriving for a well deserved break and getting one of these rooms! The views and location are spectacular! The sea was beautiful and the premium pool reserved sun beds were comfortable and all had set umbrellas. You really couldn’t get much better then the views you get here. The pool was always pristine and clean. With a nice cool temperate to cool you off from the hot sun. Now for the other bad part the all inclusive though they don’t charge much for this service… the food was dire! Just not good. The staff were friendly and helpful but if you wanted a drink during the day you had to go to the other pool. The “award winning” beach restaurant was just a buffet which was carried over in a buggy and set out on a table. It was usually cold and barely edible. I’ve never had stale fries before this hotel. It had amazing views though and nice desserts. I never got ill from the food as they did an excellent job on cleaning and health and safety, it just never had anything that tasted that good or tasted like pasta and sauce from a can. Also there’s nothing to do after your quick uneventful dinner so bring movies or own pass times. Luckily there is a bus outside the hotel which takes you to kos town for 2 euro each way which has some brilliant restaurants. All in all I would recommend this resort as long as your are in a premium or superior room. The staff were helpful, the location is amazing.

Dear Guests Thank you very much for choosing the Aeolos Beach Hotel and for taking the time to write a review. We are happy to read that you liked the location and the Premium and Superior rooms. Our bungalow rooms are located in large garden areas with meadows, which is why at times some insects might appear. Our housekeeping staff cleans carefully and also tackles any such problem with special sprays if the guests request that. Our buffet offers twelve hot plates, a salad bar and a dessert station. Your comments regarding the food have been forwarded to the respective departments for further improvement. Thank you very much for your kind words for our staff, which are highly appreciated. We would be very pleased to welcome you back to the lovely island of Kos one day. Kind regards, Christos Papadimitriou Hotel Manager

Let me start by saying there are far more positives than negatives about this hotel but they could do some small changes to make it a 5 star rating (in my opinion). We stayed on an All Inclusive basis with our son (10) but I felt they need to improve some of their services to be truly All Inclusive. The hotel is in a beautiful spot on the beach and has two fantastic pools. While we were there it was quite windy which did make the waves rough (but fun for competent swimmers) but that was a relief as it was also 40 degrees most days. We had a premium bungalow just yards from the quieter of the two pools which was beautiful, a great room and very close to a beautiful pool with a fantastic view. The cleaners came in every day and were very respectful of our things and very friendly to our son if he was in the room when they came. The pool we used has sun loungers allocated to your room which helped to alleviate any sunbeds being taken at 7am, though we did see a couple of instances where people were being asked to move as they had taken others loungers, but generally it worked well. We hired a car for four days and did some days out including a Water Park (about 30 minutes drive), a day at the beach (Kefalos, really beautiful) and a quick trip to Lidl for drinks and snacks (see below). The car was delivered to the hotel and it was all very easy to arrange (the hotel did all the work for us). The hotel also arranged a Doctor to come in every day to do the return travel tests needed to return to the UK, again all very well organised and all sorted for Euro 20 per person. There are a couple of great tavernas about 15 minutes drive out of the hotel - one was called Ampeli and is a winery and the other called Taverna Plori and is just off the beach. Food wise - we used the Tranquillo restaurant and thought the quality was good, though a little repetitive over two weeks. We had one Greek night and one Mexican night over a two week period and on at least two occasions if you came to dinner much later than 8 (dinner finished at 9) then there was pretty much no food left and it often wasn't replenished. Drinks wise - all soft drinks tasted watered down to me. Diet Coke / Coke / Lemonade are advertised as available by the glass. Whatever is served is definitely not Diet Coke (or Coke Light as available in Greece). Same with Lemonade, what came out was basically tasteless fizzy water. Beer is available on tap as is white wine. Any specific soft drinks are charged to your room. Snacks - Ice Cream was advertised as available between 2-5pm and on some days wasn't available at all due to them having nowhere to freeze it outside of the restaurants. For an AI with children milling around that seems quite tight to me and there was no negotiating outside those hours with the staff. It was also not obvious if there were any snacks at all available as there was no obvious signage telling you what was available. There is an onsite shop but it only opened for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. I do feel this could be opened longer during the day as there is nothing in walking distance of the hotel if any sun cream or toiletries were needed. The above does sound quite negative and it really isn't fully meant that way. Some small changes could make this a fantastic All Inclusive hotel but at the moment it is let down by the watered down soft drinks (so important to have access to them in the heat) and the lack of snacks available for children (one of the reasons families often go for All Inclusive over self catering).
