Stayed one night with my wife. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful grounds, most notably the walled garden. We were housed in the annex in a clean modern room. Quiet and comfortable. Had the prix fixe dinner in the main restaurant. Good service and really good food. I had the beef fillet and my wife had the lamb rump. Generous portions and both very tasty and well presented. My wife had the wine pairing and was very pleased by the waiter/sommelier selections. Remarkable breadth of choice at breakfast. Really enjoyed our brief stay. The only note of caution is that this is not a place for those seeking active nightlife.
The hotel & the grounds are beautiful we had an amazing time the staff were very pleasant especially the young manager never got his name but he looked after my coeliac husband very well great venue for a wedding from start to finish , food is to a very high standard would highly recommend
Stayed in this beautiful place for 1 night and what a lovely start to Our few days in the west from the friendliness of the girls on reception to the nice porter , lovely pre dinner drinks in the bar and an amazing meal in the sandstone restaurant served by the very competent ruari ( studying sales and marketing ) take a bow ruari and not forgetting the friendly manager who seemed to be everywhere - I would highly recommend this gem of a place
My stay here was the highlight of my trip to Ireland. We toured around Ireland and stayed in 5 different hotels, all of which were high end. Lough Rynn was by far the best. Where do I start? From the gothic rooms, the beautiful grounds, the gourmet restaurant with talented engaging staff, all coming together to make you feel welcome and special. It was my daughter’s birthday and when we got to our room there was a delicious surprise for her along with a personalized birthday card. The entire experience makes you feel transported to an elegant time when things were simpler. If you want to feel pampered and relaxed, go to this amazing hotel. I will definitely be back next year.
Lovely place but poorly maintained. The carpets around the hotel were full of stains, and there were a few cables hanging out of the wall. The desk from our bedroom was full of scratches and it was the first thing we saw when we entered the room. I suffer from allergy and the room was full of dust on the bedside tables and hidden areas. I understand COVID has affected the hospitality sector but this is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel and for the price you pay. I have stayed in hostels better than this. I won't be back again.
A lovely drive up & a warm welcome was given to us on arrival. It is a popular wedding venue so was busy outside with guests. We were shown to our room and it was very dark and small but it was only a one night visit so not a disaster but still disappointing, not somewhere you'd want to spend alot of time. Curtains had to be closed for any privacy. Had some delicious drinks before our dinner We opted for the more laid back dining as opposed to the fine dining experience advertised. The room was lovely and after a table swap we were very nicely looked after by a fantastically cheerful waitress called Kate. She worked tirelessly in the room all night and was a credit to the hotel . Our only downside was that my husbands steak was not good and he left alot of it. At 34e it was not ideal. Breakfast was fresh and tasty but I do feel a buffet for cereal and fruit etc is lacking. We like carbs as much as the next couple but I'd have loved some fruit etc. All in all a lovely 24 hour break. The venue is very nice, the bar and reception area would benefit from a bit of TLC not as a gripe just a recommendation really. …
We stayed at Lough Rynn on our travels through Ireland. Checking in was a great experience. The porter was super sweet and helpful—definitely the best person we interacted with during our stay. We made a reservation for the casual dining room and headed up to unpack. It was very warm in the room so we turned the air on. It put out hot air, but we figured it would cool off eventually. The room was pretty comfy other than the heat and very clean — somewhat spacious, and the bathroom was lovely. The room needs an update. The comforter and lampshade both had rips. There was no luggage rack. We freshened up and went down for high tea—our first experience with one. They sat us at a table with a dirty tablecloth (stains and crumbs and such). They did change it when my aunt requested it. The server was sweet, but she kept disappearing for long stretches of time. The actual food was cute, tasty, and plentiful, and the tea was delicious. We went sightseeing and came back for our 8pm dinner reservation, but they didn’t have us on the list. They were still able to fit us in, thankfully. We sat at the same table for dinner. The food was delicious and the drinks were ok. The server was missing a lot, and we had to track him down to pay before we could leave. I asked a couple of people if the Dungeon Bar would be open that evening but no one had any answers. We walked the grounds as it was getting dark, and they were definitely the jewel of our experience there. The gardens were particularly gorgeous. When we got back to the room, it was hotter than when we left. The air conditioner was still putting out hot air so we turned it off and opened the window. Thankfully, it was gorgeous outside, and it cooled off inside after a bit. The bed wasn’t super plush, and the pillows were very flat. I loved that they had a makeup mirror in the bathroom. The jewelry they offer for sale was pretty. We went down to the Dungeon, and no one was working it so we just sat down there and played cards. Overall, I think this place could be amazing if they did a bit of a facelift with the worn amenities and brought in more servers (it seemed like they were having to do double duty in both of the dining areas which made for poor service).…
Brilliant location friendly and helpful staff great night and brilliant accommodation would highly recommend it. Great for weddings family events and business with great privacy due to the remoteness of the location
Lough Rynn exceeded our expectations across all the important areas of welcome, staff, accommodation, food, service and value. Staff and management were fantastic. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all food was outstanding. Room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless, with gorgeous view of gardens and lake. We felt quite at home at Lough Rynn.
The property and grounds were beautiful, as was the castle. Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. We really enjoyed walking around the grounds and would highly recommend. We ate dinner in the pub area and thoroughly enjoyed it. The check in was quick and efficient and staff were very helpful.
