Welcome to the Armada Hotel, the perfect retreat for you to relax after a day spent exploring the natural beauty of County Clare or from your adventures along the Wild Atlantic Way. Experience a taste of West Clare and enjoy creative dishes and drinks from the uniquely styled food outlets, which include Johnny Burke's pub and the newly designed Aileen's Restaurant and Ocean Bar. The menus feature local food, artisan food producers and dishes with herbs and vegetables from Armada Farm. Soak up the stunning Atlantic views with many bedrooms overlooking the coastline, as well as spectacular views from our restaurants and outdoor terraces. And while you are a guest with us here in the Armada, we invite you to dive right in and enjoy great days out to the Cliffs of Moher, Loop Head, The Burren or the Aran Islands. For the adventure seekers, there are a host of outdoor activities so be sure to try your hand at wild sea swimming or surfing on Spanish Point beach, kayaking at the White Strand or cycling around Loop Head. And after a day spend exploring, we recommend a visit to Johnny Burke's pub, a cosy spot where our Armada history began over 50 years ago and where you’ll be assured of a warm West Clare welcome!

Had an overnight stay at the Armada recently while attending a wedding. Check in was seemless even though it was busy with several guests checking in. Our room was beautiful with gorgeous sea views. Staff are so helpful and pleasant. Food was amazing, service excellent and a special shout out to the night security man, an absolute gentleman and great craic. Thanks for the biscuit cake 😄

Stayed two nights with my husband cannot rate the place highly enough. Stayed in room 261, amazing uninterrupted sea views. Room was so cosy and warm, even with window open listening to the waves crashing. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable, we both had fantastic sleep. Staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Cocktails were gorgeous, bar and waiting staff were good craic and lots of chat. Ate in Ocean Bar both nights and food was beautiful, seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly as was the melting ribeye steak. Breakfast was also beautiful with so much choice and beautifully presented. Johnnies bar felt like you had left the hotel and gone to a local pub, musician on guitar was great. Our 2 night break has left us feeling spoiled, relaxed and the batteries are fully recharged and ready to return to three busy kids. We cannot recommend the Spanish Armada highly enough in every regard and are already itching for a return stay in the future.

I cannot say enough good about this hotel. I was travelling alone for a work related event and I couldn't have felt more welcome and relaxed then I did at the Armada. Everything was 10/10. From the provision of EV chargers, the sea side location, the beautiful refurbishment and the gorgeous food. However the highlight for me has to have been the staff. Hannah on reception, James who served me a late lunch in the bar and Susan who looked after me at breakfast, every single member of staff in great form and so keen to make you as welcome and happy as possible. Irish hospitality at is complete best. It's a long time since I received such a warm welcome and it reminded me of how the hospitality used to be and how it should be. Keep up the great work lads and can't wait to come back.

Fab few days in the Armada Hotel. Ocean view bedroom with copper bath a fantastic touch. Also in our room was an old fashioned turntable with LP selection. Telecope set up by window but we couldnt get it working.Food top class, staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Tradional bar very inviting with big open fire. Goody bag on checkout with beautiful products in it. We will be back for more of those lovely extra touches.

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Armada. Had a wonderful relaxing break complimented with excellent locally sourced produce cooked to perfection. I have a restricted diet and the chefs were able to look after my needs perfectly without any fuss. The staff are all exceptional and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the rooms are very well proportioned. The views are amazing and the hotel is an ideal spot for touring all along the Clare coastline. The money that is being spent and the changes that are being made to promote sustainability will serve the hotel and environment well into the future. Will definitely return.

I attended a Beo Wellness Day on Jan 6th -Nollaig na mBan with my adult daughter ! It was a fabulous experience! The Hotel did not disappoint- it was like a warm blanket being wrapped around you ! Decor stunning beds so comfortable even individual Christmas decorations in bedrooms ! Staff so warm and welcoming from the pub John Burkes which gave an old Irish pub feel with open fires and nooks and crannies to cosy up to the restaurant where we had great food! Not to mention the fabulous breakfast in Aileen’s restaurant looking out to amazing views over the Atlantic Ocean and the winter sun drenching us ! Final touch was the complimentary Brown bread on departure! What more can I say -oh I loved all the pictures and photos and rich history of the area that I needed more time to view - I will be back very soon ! I cannot recommend highly enough !! Myself and a friend stayed here while attending an event in the hotel. We were blessed with beautiful weather for January - the sea was freezing but worth the dip! The Armada is a beautiful hotel with lovely, genuine staff. They couldn't do enough for us and were all very natural in their interaction with guests making everyone feel so welcome. The breakfast is just amazing and lots to choose from. We didn't book dinner on time to eat in the Ocean Bistro but the menu was the same in Johnny Burke’s pub
