Had a lovely warm welcome from the host who greeted us personally. We were shown to our room which was a large spacious room overlooking the sea. The room as stated was spotless and spacious. We also had a small fridge which was great for cooling our drinks. We had a lovely full irish breakfast served personally by the owner. We were staycationing and stayed in a handfull of B&B's in Donegal, Galway and Sligo. Out of all, it is evident that this lady's business is her passion and it shows in her hospitality. I would stay here again or recommend to others. Lots of lovely walks by the beaches and cliffs of moher are not too far away!
Stayed one night five of us in two rooms. Rooms airy clean and comfortable but en suite shower tiny in the one room and just reasonable in the other. In both difficult to get a good stream of hot water, either boiling or ice cold in the one and a measly trickle in the other. Sea view fantastic. All slept well and for breakfast were very well catered to, with the lovely owner going out of her way for special things for us. A big thank you to her.
Owner was very friendly and helpful and the B&B was in a lovely location. BUT the shower was rubbish and we didn't get a cooked veggie breakfast, despite requesting this in advance. Nice but never worth €90 a night.
We come as a group to Spanish Point each year for Willie Clancy Week and while most of the group prefers to stay at the Armada Hotel (which has dances, music sessions, etc. all day/night), I held out for a quieter place -- and so we discovered Southwind just five minutes up the road. The B&B is just 10 minutes' walk from the beach and only a 20-minute walk into Miltown Malbay. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and spacious; breakfast is delicious; and Evelyn is the kindest, most accommodating host one could ever wish for. This was our second year there and I can't wait to go back again! Although we mostly danced, we've also done day trips to the Burren, to the Cliffs of Moher, and elsewhere from Spanish Point -- it's a beautiful area and Southwind is perfectly situated.
After touring Ireland by car for two weeks we landed in Spanish Point. Evelyn was a wonderful, warm host and couldn't be any friendlier or more helpful. The B&B was very clean and quiet and our room overlooked the Atlantic Ocean where we could see the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands off in the distance. The B&B was quiet and breakfast was excellent. I would truly recommend this B&B if you're in the area. This is a cash only establishment.
