Fota island hotel is a wonderful place to visit, especially in December when the hotel is beautifully decorated. It is so Christmassy with carol singers in the evening, roaring fires and Christmas trees in every corner. This year they had a beautiful display of ginger bread houses it was absolutely beautiful and smelled amazing too. The staff are so friendly and the hotel itself is so clean and luxurious. A wonderful stay as usual, we have been coming here for twelve years ❤️

Exceptional hotel to a high standard. Rooms are fabulous, really spacious. Christmas decorations are unreal, fabulous atmosphere. Service and staff everywhere was amazing. The evening food really let it down. Korma watery and tasteless and veg tempura starter not crispy and too much of it and needs a sauce to add more flavour. Rest of the meal was good. The grounds are fab and areas to sit and relax everywhere with Christmas trees and lit fires throughout. A real treat.

I was there to attend a conference and the facilities were great both in the main hotel and the Clubhouse. The group were handled efficiently by staff at mealtimes - it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves with private dining on both nights! The bedrooms are spacious and beds were really comfortable! Didn't have time to attend the spa but the pool was great. The grounds are immaculate and only pity was that for winter month stays, the walking trails are not lit up in the evenings.

we paid for a deluxe room for a small family on our daughters birthday, made a few simple requests prior to arrival which were not meant considering the price we paid for the stay. ( requests that I extra paid for, and still did not receive items) ie. Bottle of white wine to be waiting & fairy door for our daughter. I expected a better quality of customer service. Check in staff are knowledgeable and nice, however, everyone else seemed to be either new or unknowledgeable about simple services around hotel or dining. Considering the price I expected higher customer service. Also the website reads that there is more Christmas activities happening around the hotel which were not happening when we were there. I also found that having to pre-book things like the pool a little bit of a nuisance then also charging €15-€20 for armbands or a pool noodle was quite excessive, considering it’s a five star hotel. …

We had the wonderful experience of Afternoon Tea on Saturday the 02nd of December and the entire experience was just amazing, the atmosphere in the room was so nice, the team were on hand and so helpful throughout, the food was simply amazing and the deserts were the real talking point, they were so delicious. Lovely place lovely staff, great food, spotlessly clean. Cosy! Sleep would have benefited from a choice of pillow fillings. Ours were not great. Otherwise would recommend and we will certainly visit again and make more of the amenities

Excellent amenities throughout the hotel complex. Staff are extremely helpful even during busy times. While it’s location is a little removed from central Cork I reached the city centre within 20 minutes. The hotel has ample parking and low watt car charging onsite which is hard to find in city centre hotels.

Beautiful venue, with great facilities. Club house conference room was spacious and convenient. Lunch served in the Club house was good. The stay in Fota Island Resort was restful, with a good night sleep, Rooms where clean and all appliances worked. Food in the Amber room was great!, Loved my steak and peppercorn Sause.
