Extremely disappointing service from reception on Saturday and one of the worst nights sleep I have had. Checked in late at night with the hope of going to a hotel for a lovely lie in. No fan, no air con. Was woken up in the early hours of the morning to EXTREMELY loud, deafening music with speakers beneath us blasting so loudly that our bed frame was shaking. I immediately call reception who state “there’s a Studio Workout class below your room”. Why would you put visitors above this? This meant we had 4/5 hours sleep in total. We are then told that there will be classes the following morning too, and if we don’t like it we will have to pay for an upgrade room by a very unapologetic receptionist. Again, disappointing as we had paid for the minimum service of a half- decent

We have just returned from a family trip to Norfolk and stayed at this hotel with 2 small children. The family room we stayed in was very spacious and clean with comfy beds, however the ceiling and walls are paper thin. We were woken up at 6am from the people in the room above walking up and down. My 1 year old woke up in the night and when I got up to soothe him, I could even hear snoring coming from the room above! There was no aircon in the room and only a small window to open so none of us slept very well. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the pool as this needed to be pre-booked and when I went to book, it was full with the exception of being able to use it the following morning at 7:30am, which if we wanted breakfast in the morning and to be out of the room by 10am

It may have been a covid problem but we have not had a problem with other places offering eat out help out. It took half an hour to get served, that after having to wait 15 minutes to sit down. Even then we had to ask to be served and not all the menus were provided on the table. It took another hour for the meal to arrive , The meal when it arrived was good but the evening was spoiled by the long wait. One waitress whose first shift it was for months was a shining light and was clearly embarrassed. We were offered free coffee but by that time all we wanted to do was leave .I understand service is normally a strong point but not on our visit. We will not be coming back

This is a review on the foot golf offered there. I have wanted to play footgolf for ages and mangaed to arrange a session with a friend. It was £5 for a round, although as it was early evening the guy said we were welcome to play as many rounds as we liked (managed 3 in the end!). The course is not in the best of conditions and it looks a little neglected, doesnt really make much difference for the foot golf, but for the pitch and putt must be a nightmare! Some of the 'holes' are not sunk into the ground properly and so it suffers because of this. It was great fun and nice to be the only ones on the course, but if I had paid full price I would be miffed about the apparent lack of care of the course.

Before I comment, the main courses and hotel facilities looked excellent!! Totally agree with the other comments about the Pitch and Putt, it was excellent last year, but this year looks as if they can not be bothered - if the lockdown was the issue it should have been left shut for 2020 and foot golf only. The 4th green was about 30mm deep grass and the fairways awful, will give it a miss until next year sadly, as we both enjoyed it last year. No notices about COVID compliance etc
