cheap but not cheerful! BED BUG infestation! STAY AWAY! very basic accommodation (under the call of prayer tower [for the whole island]) get ready to be blasted at 4am with 30 minutes of religious music!) - I hope you're a morning person! Dirty sheets with blood stains. My body was covered in bed bug bites in every place possible (i mean every place!) the photos are after a few days once they had settled down! Our luggage was infested with bed bugs also, we had to throw away most of our clothing and find on the mainland somewhere that would wash what we kept in boiling water (no where on the island does this)! I attempted to speak with the staff about the bed bug issue, they were aware of it and didn't care. Avoid at all costs, after years of travelling and backpacking this is one of the worst experiences i have every had! Although it looks good on the surface, you will get bed bugs! Pay the extra money and stay somewhere that cleans their rooms and washes their sheets!…
We stayed 2 nights here, our last on the island. We enjoyed Gili so much we decided to extend our stay and moved from our previous accomodation to try somewhere new. The local staff do their best here with very limited resources. They allowed us to check in early and watched our luggage for the morning when we left. They dealt with a major problem with our room swiftly and apologetically giving us new rooms. We decided to stay because we only had one night left on the island and were given a refund for the night. The wifi is excellent. It is nice sitting for breakfast overlooking the pool...there are only 2 menu options. The bed linens are awful. They really need to buy some new sheets! A white top sheet and fitted sheet is all you get...both starched to stiffness and covered in stains of old blood. We both slept on our beach towels. The bathroom had no toilet paper bin despite the fact you cant flush it. Open shower was full of leaves and flowers from the trees by the evening and there was no hot water. The "villas" are right near the islands loudspeaker where the religious prayers are broadcast and being Ramadan this went for hours each night until midnight. It was impossible to sleep, but I did not factor this in with my rating. If you choose to stay here during Ramadan be mindful of that. It could not be heard as loud at our previous accomodation closer to the beach. We were offered bikes with our villa which were unridable and ready to throw out to the tip. As is the furniture which has threadbare and stained cushions. There's much better places to stay on the island. …
We love these bungalows which are in the middle of the island in peace and quiet. We have the 110m2 big bungalow and it is expensive (!) but great. Small minusses are a door that doesn't function well, broken lamps and a shower with almost only cold water. But it doesn't ruin the overall impression: This place is a private paradise, big and luxurious! The family bungalow is great for all families with kids who can sleep in their own room because the rooms are really two bungalow rooms separated by a large outside area of kitchen and terrasse: free coffee, water and bicycles, very good breakfast and a very helpful and friendly staff! Seating area for the whole family, great pool (but mind a few sharp edges). We will all come back to this place - total relaxation!!!
3W cottages is in a good location for both the beach/ restaurants and getting to the boats. The rooms were basic but didn't have air conditioning although they did provide a fan. This made things difficult sleeping at night. Breakfast was limited but still prepared nicely. The pool was also nice. Average stay and would return if air conditioning was guaranteed.
The hotel seemed nice at start, relaxed atmosphere, nice pool, etc. But we already saw black spots (old blood?) on the sheets at night. We were tired and ignored it because the hotel looked so nice. Big regret in the morning when we got out of bed and saw huge (fresh) blood stains on the sheets, dead and alive bedbugs crawling. The hotel staff didn't seem surprised by this, even admitted that they been trying to deal with it for a while. To us it sounded completely ridiculous to knowingly let someone stay in a room that's invested with bed bugs. We needed to wash and clean out everything, they gave us garbage bags for that - and told us were to find a laundromat. However on the whole island they can't wash above 60 degrees Celsius (which is necessary to kill the bedbugs) so we needed to go back to Bali for that. They offered us to pay half of the price but when I said I would call booking.com about that they said we would get it for free (probably because they would get bad reviews or even taken of the site). It could be that it was just that room (I believe third room on the left), but their whole attitude about it was so off, that I expect it has happened much more often!! They were kind of laughing about it and didn't assist us at all with our laundry (20 kilos of clothing), nor did they seem to make an effort to clean the room...…
