Stayed here for 2 nights - overall a very pleasant stay. Upon arriving onto the island there were no signs at all as to where we needed to go - which many other hotels did. We found a map eventually which it was on - so after walking the wrong way for 20 mins we were finally pointed in the right direction. Our room was basic but had everything we needed and upon first look very clean. Air con was a need! It's so hot on these islands - you can't imagine, so having that was a bonus! Food at the onsite restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced! All of the staff were lovely and spoke great English, which was a great help when asking about things on the island. The only reason I didn't give it 5* was because we did have a little problem on the last night - our electricity kept tripping every time we turned the air con on, super annoying... Then when we tripped the switch back on, it was going off somewhere else. After a 3rd visit from one of the boys we were moved to another bungalow with newer air con - so I assume better wiring! So that was resolved eventually - they were always too happy to help! No wifi in rooms and wifi in restaurant the wifi was temperamental! Lovely bars/restaurants nearby and about a 15 minute walk to the main "strip".…
Only 5min walk from the , but to the less built-up side, so is very quiet and you get a nice local feeling. Staff was chilled-out, cool people. Helpful also. They have a restaurant right on the beach, just perfect for hanging out all day. (and good thing was staff didn't mind us occupying one of the best table facing to the beach all day, as long as we order something once a day) Their food should be mentioned with full complement, ibus (respective way to call indonesian women) are doing awesome job in the kitchen. Quite reasonably priced as well. The room was very specious, nicely clean, tasteful. Although it was the high-season when we stayed there, surprisingly reasonable. The room was always cool, sometimes even chilly, no need of air con at all. The only mius was that the pressure of the shower was pretty low, so it was difficult to wash my hair. Wi-Fi works ok in the restaurant. And what else do you need? There are even one of the best snorkeling spot in the island at the right front of their restaurant. Fully recommended!…
Pongkor is a relaxing place to stay when your traveling on budget. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home, great breakfast with good pancakes and fresh fruit, best of all the view from the beach! During the day the also serve fresh and tasteful food (try the olah-olah). The bungalows are a bit old but spacious and clean, ac is optional and the shower has cold, fresh water.
Didn't stay here but got drawn in by the fresh fish out the front and the charcoal fire. Had an amazing red snapper with rice and salad for two. Only 120,000 idr (about $12 australian dollars). Beach front. Yum!!!!
Aside from the frequent power cuts this resort is lovely. The price is reasonable and the staff is friendly and it's located very near to the harbour. The Bathroom is underground and it's seawater in the tank. Didn't have much of a choice when it comes to this and its the same everywhere.
