I wish I could live there, I wish I didn’t have to go back to work and stay on this island. Bungalows were great, shower pressure could be better but eh it’s island life, at least the A/C was working a treat!! Honestly I’d go back there in a heart beat. All of the staff were great, so welcoming and friendly. The bungalow are situated on the sunset part of the island and only 2 minutes walk to the markets, mini mart(convenient store) and 5 minutes walk to some amazing restaurant and bars, actually there is lovely restaurant right next door(150m) Food and drinks from the bungalows are amazing but it’s good to visit the surrounding. If you feel like swimming and snorkeling the best spots are on the other side of the island which is a 20min walk or 5 minutes horse and carriage ride. Do yourself a favor and visit the place 😉…
My two sons and I loved our week at Island View. Had a good look around the island and definitely thought the west side was the best part of the island. We stayed in the 2 bedroom bungalow which although simple was clean, airconditioned and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and happy to help out with whatever we needed. The daily sunsets were a highlight and the included breakfasts were appreciated as food costs can ramp up pretty quickly when dining out at restaurants on Gili.
We were here for 4 nights and absolutely loved our choice. It was the right part of the island for us, being quiet and away from the most touristy bits. The section of beach that it occupied was lovely... clean white sand and wonderful views across to Gili Meno, where we had just stayed. The accommodation was full of charm and character... A lovely thatched bungalow with a comfortable four poster bed and and an outdoor bathroom. The staff were so lovely... each of them really friendly and hardworking and this really added to our stay. The grounds were kept so nicely. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and really enjoyable each morning, sat watching the sea. Evening meals and snacks were good too. Our thanks to every single member of staff for a wonderful stay.
My Word, what an appaling hotel this is. Rated on many different travel platforms as a great hotel, what we experienced was horror. Arriving on Gili Air in September on a weekday-evening we decided to book a hotel on-the-spot on a location with a nice beach view. The Island View Bungalows in Gili Air definitely offer a nice location, but absolute filthy, badly maintained rooms with paramount prices. Our room had a rate of app. 90USD / 80EUR per night. Have a look at the pictures what you got for that. A wore down room with a filthy bathroom were bugs were crawling on the molded walls, no hot water running and in the night a first-row loud disco experience. Even the bedsheets were not clean. The waiters at the restaurant had no service feeling. This is a warning, do not stay here if you want to have a good night's sleep or good restaurant service.…
We were ready to leave Gili air because there were just things in the island we didn’t liked. But luckily we did have it a shot and decided to walk around Gili Sir and discover its other side. And thankfully we found this hotel 💕 From the staff, the view , the sunset, the food and of course the kindest owner Madung 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 They have these lovely bungalows , the best sunsets every day and the food is just amazing! Highly recommended! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Jeg savner dere alle sammen!🧡
Stayed there for 5 nights. Pros: amazing and very service minded staff (apart from the female desk manager, who was not very service minded), who you felt really took care of you. Really good breakfast. Excellent beach setting during the whole day and especially during sunset. Good beds with good mosquito nets. Cons: no Credit cards accepted, so all expenses you have to cover in cash; we therefore almost didn't eat/drink there. Bungalow condition poor: Several places on the wooden floor were broken or on the way to break; toilet equipment really used and old. WiFi really bad during the Day and afternoon.
A few weeks ago I was treated to s weekend break at Island View by a couple of girlfriends. They had already been there for a few nights before I arrived. My room was clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the evening at the hotel. It was hard to get a decent spot as many non guests come to watch the sunset here, take selfies on the ocean swing and watch Eddie the fire dancer. As it happened I knew Eddie from before so, he gets an extra point from me as he was just learning the last time I met him on Lombok and now he is really good. There is a limited dinner menu but I enjoyed my grilled prawns and jacket potato. Breakfast was a bit long drawn out the net day but we were not in any rush and I snorkelled before and after. We also had lunch before our departure. I was happy with every meal I ate there, my room, the staff. the only down side for me, which is not their fault as the lack of sea life in the water right out front. I had sore feet so did not want to venture from the hotel but we had already enjoyed a 3 point snorkel trip with Lutwala so I had seen the turtles that I came for. I would stay again and dont hesitate to recommend them.…
This is a good choice to relax in their bamboo sofas and watch the sunset while enjoying some cold drinks with friends. The service is really nice and social if you want to talk to a local and learn more about the island and Indonesia.
The Room and service was okay. But the sink and shower was spewing out chlorine gas. When i tried to have a shower i got respiratory distress, and I know for a fact that inhaling is dangerous. Horrific experience.
Stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon. Beautiful. The location is perfect, just a short walk away from the main areas but far enough that you can go home and chill out. I slept on the beach in their lounge huts a couple nights watching the storm come in over the sea. Was quite spectacular. The lights and trees at the front of the bungalows is really magical. The staff were so friendly, happy to have a chat and help out however they can. Breakfast is pretty basic (eggs and toast I lived on) but good enough to put something in the tank until lunch. The rooms are cool, private outdoor shower, 4 post beds with mossie net. Clean and tidy. Will definitely stay here again when we go back. And we will go back, Gili Air is a beautiful spot
