A wonderful stay at Mahamaya this week, we were sorry to leave! We opted for the Candy Beach Villa which was definitely worth it and I would recommend to do so if you can. The villa had everything we wanted including a huge bed overlooking the beach, large bathroom and outdoor shower. With a private lounger you can relax outside your room with full view of the ocean and wonderful sunset view every night. The other rooms at the rear of the hotel looked lovely too but these overlook a shared pool and don’t have an ocean view. The restaurant was lovely for meals any time of the day and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We borrowed snorkels and fins for a day, but could have also borrowed bikes and kayaks if we had wanted. It’s a great location for going straight out onto the reef for snorkelling and to swim down to the Bask underwater statues which are just a short walk/swim away. We saw turtles easily on both days that we snorkelled and they were amazing to see so close. Overall, highly recommend this hotel on Gili Meno and you won’t be disappointed if you visit.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom sweet it had 2 bathrooms and a living room with a water station that gave you cold, room temperature and hot water, outside was a terrace with seats and on the outside by the pool was more seating and bean bags. The accommodation was superb as was the breakfast of which the main dish was cooked to order, the fruit juices are the best we have ever tasted. The staff were all brilliant, helpfull and always happy, we will definitely be staying here again. Most times you went into the sea you saw turtles and it had excellent snorkeling

We loved our stay at Mahamaya and can't wait to return. Everything from our arrival by boat at the front of the hotel to our departure was wonderful. Mahamaya is only small so has a very intimate feel, which was perfect. So many unquie touches that we loved, like the water cooler (with instant hot or cold water) in the rooms together with reusable water bottles, insect repellent as well as flipflops, sunhats and beach bags for use during our stay and fridge magnets on departure. There is also a couple of kayaks and snorkeling equipment for guests to use and free WiFi throughout. Bikes are available and free to use but it's near impossible to cycle around the island on the sandy bits, I quickly gave up and made my way onto the the back streets which are much easier to cycle on and a good way to see where the locals live. We stayed in one of the family rooms which was perfect for me and my parents as it had separate bedrooms. My parents had the double with full on suite and I had a twin with my own shower. There was a small living area, separate toilet and outdoor seating area. The beds were really comfortable and the windowless rooms and blackout curtains in the living area meant we weren't woken with the rising sun and slept really well with lots of late starts. Breakfast was wonderful and largely made to order so you know it's fresh and minimises waste. The pancakes where a very filling favourite. The fresh fruit juices are amazing and during the rest of our stay in Indonesia we never found another as good. Beautiful snorkeling spot right on the doorstep. We saw turtles daily, either snorkeling or when they would pop their head up for air. And not just one or two, but sometimes 4-7 during snorkeling outings. You would find them in the swallow areas as well as a bit further out so perfect for the whole family to spot them. So many other beautiful fish to see as well as the turtles, including parot fish, moorish Idol, butterfly fish, black and white clownfish, shrimpfish, sea snakes, puffer fish and lots more. In the swallows you could often find the cute baby versions of all these fish as well. The coral is quite bleached especially in the swallower areas and lots of areas of dead broken bits of coral as you first enter the sea as well as on the beach. The great snorkeling spot makes it busy for the glass bottom boats and snorkeling trips throughout the day but the boats mostly drove slowly around that area because of all the people snorkeling. We found that just before and after high tide the water could be a little murkey but it soon cleared up. The Bask Nest underwater sculptures is a short swim up the coast (or walk along the beach). Just look for the area with all the boats and a large concentration of snorkellers and you can't miss it. The hotel bar is the perfect spot to watch the sunsets and enjoy a cocktail or 3 on the happy hours. The staff where all lovely and super helpful. Evening meals were really nice, especially the seafood BBQ when you got to choose your own fish. Meno island itself is very small with limited facilities which makes it the perfect escape. Some small shops sell very limited things, mainly soft drinks, beer, crisps and sweets. We couldn't find any red wine in the shops, but could buy this from the bars. You can walk around the whole island easily as it's only 3.25 miles. The staff on Meno do their best to keep the beaches in front of the bars and hotels litter free but a walk around the island in areas where there are no hotels/bars, does shows the extent of the pollution wash up, with areas covered in litter, which is such a shame as otherwise it really is a beautiful island. We had an amazing stay and can't wait to return. Highly recommended it, especially if you are looking for somewhere chilled and quiet.

We were welcomed as family and that vibe continued for our three-day stay. We stayed in one of the beachfront villas, it was comfy and spacious with a cool outdoor shower (quite private). What surprised us most is that Mahamaya has a really good kitchen! The grilled fish is a highlight, but not the only one.

Absolutely amazing. The hotel, rooms, servers and food is fantastic. We'd tapered our expectations as Gili Meno is a small island, close to Lombok but quite rustic and remote. However the hotel blew us away. All the staff and servers (Afgan, Danny, Isnan and all others) were incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. They all made our stay a joy and were very patient with our fledgling attempts at trying to speak Indonesian. The food was delicious, especially the fresh Saturday and Monday BBQ fish - can't recommend it enough and fully recommend that you get the Crissy fish (spelling?). It's like red snapper and the chef will tell you it's his favourite anyway! It's delicious regardless. We stayed 4 nights in a beach front villa and we absolutely could have stayed a bit longer we enjoyed it so much. It feels like proper 'island life' and so perfect for a quieter getaway with Gili T and the brash Bask down the beach if you wanted a bit more music one evening. Terima kashi banyak!

Wow.....just wow. This is an amazing place. It's just the most beautiful setting. Staff were so friendly and happy and very helpful. They just wanted to make our stay a happy one, and they did. The food was amazing. Plenty choice and trust me, every dish was so very tasty. Breakfast was freshly made and delicious. There was so much to choose from, and nothing was too much trouble. It's a Coral island, so I always wore my beach feet as I have tender feet. The boat trip to the statues was fantastic. Be mindful that the current is very strong, so just remember that. We swam with turtles and watched them from the sun loungers during the day. It's just a little bit or paradise. My only downside was the amount of rubbish lying around. Maybe have a clean up every week...?

Stumbled across the place on my last day sadly. Had lunch here with my daughter and returned on my own for dinner. 11/10 for the lovely staff and service- cannot fault them at all. As for the food… delicious. Both lunch and dinner fresh, very tasty. It’s also a hotel right on the beautiful meno beach. Clean everywhere. As a solo, some restaurants try to push me into the corner areas, not here, they asked where I wanted to sit, which is a biggy for me- saves me having to get assertive for my rights, Next time, I’ll stay in the hotel too. Well done Angela-Sheffield UK

Lovely chilled out hotel. We went for 2 nights staying in the candy villa. i loved the outside shower, though there was very little hot water and pressure but it was so warm it didn't matter. Food and service great, it was lovely sat on the waters age having dinner. Hotel spotless and they kept their section of the beach clean too. Harry was really helpful. Loved being able to just grab snorkels and we have never ever had a boat pick us up from outside a hotel. Beautiful island such a shame about all the rubbish.
