#2 of 79 in Gili Meno
Escape to 6 simple getaway suites on NE side of Gili Meno Island. These cottages are deliberately simple in design so one can relax and disengage from the stresses of modern life. This place was built with the idea of relaxing in a simple environment but with a few luxuries. If you are wanting "lights camera action" type holiday this is not for you. We rely on the island generator for power and embrace the simple life - if you going to get upset if the power goes out or water isn't delivered timeously due to bad weather or low tides over reef a remote island with no infrastructure is definitely not your gig. If you need simplicity and a pure island experience you will enjoy visiting us. 58 & Bamboo S are both beachfront properties, Shack59 is adjacent about 100m from the beach, but it does have its own large daytime gazebo with bed and table and chairs and private bathroom where guests are invited to relax and enjoy the view. Breakfast is served on the beach gazebos.

This was our third visit back to Shack 58 and made a point of staying two weeks. We were a little nervous given the recent earthquake activity in Lombok but we enjoyed every minute of our time there. And what the island needs most of is its tourists back. We stayed in the Bamboo Shack and loved its spaciousness and natural air flows. And of course the proximity to the sea and beach with the turtles just out front across the reef in front. The staff led by Nirah were great and we enjoyed the meals they cooked for us (optional) especially the locally caught fish - barbecued in the back garden. We had the opportunity to meet the owner Callie who was tremendous fun, informative and very hospitable. We needed two weeks complete respite and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. We would love to come back. And don’t be fooled by ‘no availability’ on various search engines. Contact Callie directly.

We came to Shack 58 for a break and had the most fantastic 3.5 days there. The main house is perfect for relaxing in and the gazebo is right next to the sea. The bedroom was cool and really peaceful. All the staff looked after us wonderfully, and the food was delicious. Breakfast was a real start to the day, and in the evening we had fish that had been caught for us that day - superb. Talking about the evening, there are sunsets to die for. This is just a unique place to relax in, to go snorkelling, and to have the most wonderful time. We thoroughly recommend it and will return.

Perfect holiday accommodation for us, loved hearing the waves as we fell asleep, the 'open plan' design, great food, lovely staff and easy access for snorkelling etc etc. It had everything we needed for a relaxing and revitalising break. We will be back!

This June's holiday to Bali reminded me of a vacation to Shack 58 a few years ago! What a fantastic spot. Stunning, simple, beautiful beaches, people and water, we had a fantastic time. A small island, ideal for a real getaway, Shack 58 is ideal to kick back and just relax. The staff were so friendly and efficient, making one's stay easy and so comfortable, with not a thing to worry about. Beautiful waters with great snorkeling, diving, etc. Go, and enjoy..

We had a great time there. The food was amazing, the tranquillity unique. The house and gazebo were great and we loved to go snorkeling for hours... The people taking care of us were really nice and Gili Meno was really perfect for our honeymoon.

Had been looking forward to going back to GM this year having had a far too short a stay last year. We hired Shack 58 and also the Bamboo Shack for 6 nights - both with a direct sea view. And we had such a relaxing time. The staff members were delightful and it was a real treat to have them cook such delicious evening meals. Most of our party of 4 opted for the freshly caught fish. This place is a real gem if you are after peace and quiet and happy to go to sleep with the sound of the waves nearby. Twice strangers walked up our garden path to ask where the reception was and were surprised that we had the Bamboo Shack all to ourselves. Can't wait to come back again!

If I could give this place a 10/5 I would. We were so lucky to have stayed in Shack 58 for 4 nights and 5 days. The structure is beautiful, its simple and humble bamboo walls do not pretend to be anything their not. It's luxury in its simplest form, and it's the best place to zen out (without the "zen" background music). It's perfectly located and there is a great reef to be explored only 50 meters from your door step. The staff are attentive, positive, and extremely helpful when it comes to options of activities in and around the island (& are just fine folks to speak with in general). The food is excellent, flavorful and well cooked, we ate most meals here because after a couple experiences in other places, the food at Shack 58 & 59 turned out being the best. We are surely going to visit this dream of a place again.

The best place in Gili Meno, which is the best of Gili's Island if you're looking for peace, wonderful nature and sea, confort and relax. We have been in the biggest of the two shacks, and everything was just perfect. Our room, the big gazebo where we spent most of our day, including excellent dinners (try it!) and lovely breakfasts (even when we woke up late...) reading books and magazines, sipping tea and coffee, enjoying the beach view. Yes, you don't have TV or wifi, but who cares? You don't go in a small and remote island to get wifi (which, btw, you can find at Ana's warung, little restaurant 50mt away) We had our private little gazebo on the front beach, the sea was just wonderful (even if in the afternoon the low tide makes swimming a little more difficult). We made the island tour just once with bicycles rented directly from our guest holders. We did love Shack 58 and 59, kindness, cleanliness, style, please don't change a thing!

At very short notice we booked a weekend in Shack 58. On the beach, an overly generous gazebo in which to read, eat and doze. Snorkelling off the beach to see schoools of colourful fish and turtle. And the food - the best food a couple of vegans had in all of Lombok. Nirah and the staff were attentive and unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Shack 59, which is located about 50m from the beach. It was much more private having our sleeping villa being off the main walking track, and we had use of the day hut which overlooks the beach which was perfect for day lounging and relaxing. We had a breakfast served here each day by the wonderful staff. The cafe next door (Ryan's) served some of the most delicious food we had while in Gili islands, and we loved their BBQ fish dinners. Would definitely recommend to take reef shoes as many pointy sea anemones which are hard to avoid, and ask at Ryan's if they will take you on a snorkel trip, as it's difficult to swim out to the reef due to strong currents and low tides could leave you scrambling over the delicate coral. Loved our stay at the Shack, and think it was possibly the best accommodation (from what we could see) on the island.
