I stayed at Tao Kombo Lodge with 9 fellow travellers for an extended period of around 3 months. The facilities were appropriately cultural and simplistic to suit the island lifestyle and the beachfront location was euphoric to wake up to. But no doubt, the highlight of our stay was the friendly Tao Kombo family which we were welcomed into so...

The french-owned lodge is in a backside beach street (5 min from the jetty where the boats start). It has a huge garden with a nice bar and restaurant. The wooden huts are simple but okay. The place is good for a good sleep because of its location. Staff and owners are very nice and easy-going. It' s a fair...

We opted for their most unusual bungalow - a big bed with mosquito net under the roof (wooden curtains surrounding the bed and the sitting area can be lowered), fenced open-air bathroom and a roofed sitting platform, all behind a low wooden fence. Casuarina trees are everywhere on the plot and around. It's about 100 m away from the beach,...

Gili Meno is a great place, I have been coming back here for may years. It is the quietest of the 3 islands, great beaches, nice spots for snorkeling. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay Tao kombo is your answer. The staff is very friendly. It is close to the beach. On the beach you will...

We only stay here for one night, but overall it was pleasant. We stayed at the double room with fan (Rp.190.000,-), completed with an open air bathroom which was basic but still okay. The staff was very kind and friendly. They helped us to find a great snorkeling spot. There were lots and lots of mosquitoes at the island, so...

Tao' Kombo staff were very friendly and helpful. They totally spoiled my kids, let them hang out with them, helped them make boats from bottles, applied first aid when needed, and treated us all very kindly. They even organised for a staff member to bring back kids' dvds and cereal from Lombok. Very sweet. Totally relaxed and chilled out atmosphere...

Loved Tao Kombo. Paid 160,000rp for a bungalow (single occupancy) and at that price it was exponentially better than some of the mediocre rooms I stayed in around Indonesia. The bungalows are set along a path from the chill out bar, which is itself about 100m along the path from the beach. Fans, nets and socket in the rooms. Beds...

this place is a little gem. you find it down a little track which is well lit at night. dont expect air conditioning or room service but do expect quaint indonesian charm. we stayed in a rice hut with an openair bathroom. the first room had bags of charm but was extremely "rustic". we did switch to the hut next...

This is a very nice place to stay. The bungalows are a little bit primitive and basic but that's what we think is charming about this place. We had the (very romantic) open bungalow. But the other bungalows do look very nice as well. And they have all the facilities you need, mosquito nets, a fan and open water bathroom...

“try asking for rooms where the front door is facing roughly in the direction of the beach. you might get more air flow than we did , our front door was perpendicular to the beach so the sea wind was blocked by our walls and roof. you might have a cooler night with thedoor facing the direction of the nearest beach. ( the hotel is about 300 yards away from the beach, but at least get the direction right)”
