We came to Gili Meno and looking for place to stay and found this place far from harbour. we asking the price to manager named DEWWA and the english is too basic and look unprofessional,he give price too high at 900k per night and everything was horrible, very green pool like river (mossy) no cleaning more than 1 month, rubbish everywhere,so mest-up.we mean in this situation is clearly important to give fair price. we believe that this place will go down immediately.definitely not recommended,STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!!!!
We stayed here for 4 days, and we were SO sad that we didnt book more days at this AMAZING hotel !!! We stayed in a two bedroom pool villa, and it was just unbelievable! You could stay in your own "pool garden" if you wanted privacy, and go to the hotel/restaurant pool or the AMAZING beach if you wanted more company. On Valentines day our waiter (Jack) gave us an unforgettable night as he had decorated the beach and table with thousands of flowers and candles - he even arranged fireworks for us ! - THANKS JACK !!!!! I have read earlier critical reviews of the hotel were customers complains of missing courses in the restaurant due to "sold out" ingredients - COME ON! - you are on a small secluded island - what do you expect! We tried many of the different courses in the restaurant, and found the tuna sashimi absolutely amazing - one day my wife ate 3 :-) You cannot go wrong if you visit this place, and i would LOVE to come back some day!…
Me and my Boyfriend booked here for valentines day. We are also backpacking around southeast asia and been staying in alot of budget places. We wanted something a little secluded as it was valintines day and wanted to do something special. The staff apon arrival were so welcoming and friendly throughout the entire stay actually! The food we had i though was a little exspendive for what it was as other restaurants on the islands prices were cheaper but you did get a pool by the restaurant and sunbends with an amazing view of the beach so the experience is also what your paying for i guess. On our last night the aircon had stopped working and was making a beeping sound all night. The security staff tried to fix it but was not successful and we spent the whole night in the heat. We explained this to the Manager Dewa the next morning and he was very apologetic and very helpful. He understood where we were coming from and tried to call his boss to see if we could get a reduction on the room. Failing to get in contact with the boss, the Dewa decided to give us a discount off our bill from the hotel restaurant and advised that he would rather see his guests happy. He was super polite and helpful and all in all have a very pleasant stay here at Avia😀…
Ok, first off all, AMAZING two bedroom Villa!!! Very clean, villas, sheets, towels, pool. We arrived at 11am and went to the office next to the pool. The girl behind the counter, Mai was here name, was very welcoming. As it was my Birthday she even sang a little happy birthday for me :) Our villa wasn't ready yet as check in time is 2pm but she gave us beach towels and took our luggage behind the desk so we could relax on the beach. We did decide to walk down the island to hire some bikes ($5 AUD a day per bike) and get one with basket as you can put your belongings and water in it, mountain bikes look cool but they don't have a basket and you have to push them through the sand anyhow. Please guys, do me a favour and use sun screen, every 2 hours minimum... you don't belive how many "lobsters" are out and about :) We have been here before a couple of years ago and it is still beautiful and pure bliss. The hotel changed a little bit, specially the restaurant. Morning breakfast is nice but average. I mean, all what you need but not as fancy as it used to be... it's buffet style, you get rice, noodles, scrambled eggs, sausages with some kind of bacon, beans, fruit, cereal and yoghurt, bread, that's it....same with dinner, ok food but the service was slack (sitting there without a menu in the dark on the beach and getting asked if we are ready to order) but that is just my opinion :) There aren't many restaurants here but I do say, go and explore a bit further down the street... much more nicer settings and cheaper. Another thing is the language barrier on both sides, I mean we could learn a bit more Indonesian as well. No ones fault really but a very expensive bottle of bubbly ($80 AUD) we had, we ordered "house wine" even if the menu on the room said $35 AUD they gave us the most expensive bottle (we didn't know that to that time as they are no names on the menu) and charged us on check out $80 AUD :) maybe "house wine means in Indonesia the most expensive bottle.... i don't know....it's holiday.... Overall it's a very nice resort though. They really made the room look nice for my birthday and I would come back. Thank you staff from Avana Villas…
Good value for money, clean and friendly. Definitely worth asking to pay for an upgrade from a bungalow to a villa as we did when we arrived - not much more money and we then had a brighter room and private pool. Staff were very helpful, menu was a little basic but food wasn’t expensive and there’s loads of choice nearby or a 15 walk to the other side of the island. Sunsets were beautiful and beach cleaner than others on Bali.
Went in the start of February, the staff were really friendly, helpful and nice, especially May at the front desk, checked us in early, we did have a problem with our AC and they got us straight into a new room.
Loved our stay here in the Avia Villas Resort on Gili Meno- all the staff in hotel and restaurant, the Villa and the location of the resort was fabulous. We will definitely be back to this lovely resort.
We stayed at the villa with private pool. The room is very much island style w wooden floor, bit small, but the bed is big. The private pool was bit deep, but good if you want to practice your diving move. The ala-carte food, especially western menu, is good. The buffet breakfast is average. Play in the pool, go snorkeling (we tried diving), rent bicycles. Enjoy the nice and quiet holiday...
I rarely bother reviewing hotels - and this review is primarily about the customer service for booking. I booked a room for 3 nights the day before I was set to arrive. This is late January during the quiet season and there were lots of rooms available. I booked through Trip Advisor, which took me to the Agoda booking agent website. The first time I tried to book, Agoda asked for a photo of my credit card and passport to complete the booking. I tried to upload the first photo - but it would not upload and the website timed out without even starting to upload the second photo or completing the booking (or so I thought). I had to start all over as I had no confirmation email from Agoda and no way of retrieving a booking in progress. I was successful uploading the photos the second time. I got an email from Agoda and from the hotel confirming the reservation. When I arrived the next morning - the hotel said I had two reservations - one through Agoda and one, bizarrely, through Booking.com. I checked my email and saw a later second confirmation email - both from Agoda (none from Booking.com). I explained what happened and the receptionist said no problem, just cancel one reservation. I could not cancel the reservation online. I asked her to cancel it - she said the hotel could not - that I had to cancel through Agoda. I called Agoda - they said the hotel had to cancel it and they would call the hotel. Agoda would not let me hand my phone to the receptionist - Agoda had to initiate the call. I was on hold with Agoda while the receptionist and I waited for them to call the hotel. But whatever number Agoda called was not the reception on the island and that number no one answered. The young woman at the desk did not know how to fix it. Finally after 30 - 40 minutes of trying to sort it out with Agoda blaming the hotel and the hotel blaming Agoda - I just asked the receptionist if I could have my room and sort it all out later. Later I spoke to a different receptionist who said the bookings are handled through an office in Bali and they would sort it out for me. Then I started getting emails from Agoda claiming the hotel would only refund half the extra reservation because the hotel has a no refund policy. The booking office did not seem to understand the accidental extra booking. I responded to a few of the emails trying to again explain what happened. But the hotel emails said they would only refund half despite what the reception told me. Then actually the hotel did not refund any money and I filed a dispute for the duplicate charge with my credit card company, which is still pending. I understand the reason for a no - cancellation policy - but this reservation was done in error - through no fault of mine, and was made less than 24 hours before I arrived during the low season. The hotel did not lose the opportunity to provide the room to someone else. I got the sense that there was no real management at the hotel. Everyone working there was very nice - but young. Service was a bit spotty. The location of the hotel is nice - it is on the western side of the island - you get the sunset and it is away from the harbor noise where they are building a pier. You can hear club noise from Gilli T - but I only heard that one night in my room. The villas closer to the beach might be louder. You can rent a bike at the hotel entrance to get around. The pool and beach are nice. The island itself is very quiet and not yet recovered from the earthquake - lots of rubble and I met several tourists who had returned to the island to find it much changed. I had a "bungalow" room, but would recommend upgrading. The room was small but comfortable. My AC worked really well. The bathroom is open and shady - so it was a mosquito haven. There is a lot of standing water around the hotel which might be breeding them. You had to be careful to take the bathroom key in with you to lock the door and keep the mosquitoes out of the bedroom. Definitely use the mosquito netting on the bed. I did see and hear rats in the thatch on the porch - but none in the room or bathroom and not surprising for a remote tropical island. After Gili Meno, I stayed one night on Gili Air. I liked that island better. My hotel was comparable in price and lovely (l'archipel) - though not on the beach. Gili Air might be louder during high season.…
