Great view to the sea and Castle, very friendly staff, good breakfast and dinner. Our rooms were spacious and clean, but surfaces quite worn out, WC flusher tended to get stuck and hand shower rack was broken, as well as other light switch in toilet. Hence this three star review.
I'm just packing after spending 2 nights here and have found the hotel a bit hit and miss. I have good, needs to improve, and good to know/tips for travellers. First the good The location is right on the waterfront, with good views, and close to a swimming beach, park, and castle. It's just over 1km to the shops and restaurants, the walk took about 15 mins of amble, or 10 mins reasonable fast walk There's a small coop across the road that sells good and drink basics The restaurant food is good quality and not bad prices Theres a pool and sauna for guest use The needs to improve When the sun shines the rooms are hotter than the surface of the sun, there is no air con, no fans, and if you are on the car park side of the hotel you will hate every moment Some rooms have decent curtains that block out the light, others have flimsy cheap thin ones that leave you wondering why they bothered This is advertised as a spa hotel, which suggests there will be a touch more luxury than there is - add some better toiletries, a water glass in the rooms, and maybe it will feel a bit more like it One of the reception staff was surly, dismissive, and rude. This was echoed by several people at breakfast If you have a food allergy make sure you ask about it in everything, the menus don't always mention allergens The rooms are inconsistent quality Please add some noise insulation! You can hear everything from the rooms and corridor There is no drinking glass or kettle/drinks in the room Tips Ask for a sea view, these rooms are cooler in summer - they are mostly out of the afternoon sun and you get a better breeze (still really hot though) Bathrobes are €5 to hire, and bring your own slippers if you don't want to buy them (not provided in a spa hotel!) There are no irons, kettles, mini fridge, etc in the rooms (the things you get in many UK, Europe, US rooms as standard) You can get a self catering suite for just a small amount more, with separate bedroom, kitchen, balcony - same building but advertised as Ö Suites. I think these are a better option…
We stayed in the seaview suite what was perfect for my family and the views where spectacular. But we had serious issues with the cleanliness of the suite( previous customers dirt, crumbs, dust all over the kitchen, Hair and dust balls in the shower/sauna room corner, dust and cobwebs all over the balcony) and and it took 3 days to get the suite cleaned, this really ruined our experience and was really disappointing. The hotel did not have a restaurant or a bar so that was disappointing also.
Very nice location, near sea, castle and city center. Very nice to walk around in lovely neighborhood. A bit too warm in our room, but there was very hot days too. There is no conditioner in hotel rooms.
Once the swimming pool and Spa will be refurbished and start working again, as well as the a la carte restaurant, it will be a good option for a short family get-away, if you do not mind ascetic and worn out premises. The view on the sea side is wonderful. In the longer run, either the price needs to come down or the hotel needs some serious work on refreshing the premises to make the price spot better justified.
This hotel is good if all you are looking for is a hotel. The rooms are clean enough but a bit dated, walls super thin but comfortable beds. There is no spa in the building, you can use the facilities in another hotel next door but it was basically just anpool with a hot tub. None of the saunas were open the whole time we were there. If you want a spa break, go somewhere else. But if you want a nice view and good breakfast, but not fussed about the facilities then this is a good and cheap option.
First of all, location was good. Right next to castle and sea, short walking distance from restaurants. But. We felt very disapointed when we arrived to the hotel. There is no restaurant, bar, swimming pool or any other services as promised. Next hotel (Ruutli) on the street is owned by same company and if you wanna go swim or eat, you have to walk to other hotel! I mean that is not like different wing, really to another hotel. Still, biggest issue was cleaning during Covid-19 pandemic. Our room cleaning was not good at all. There were stains all over the room, carbage can was not emptiet and remote control was so filthy that there were brown hand grease around buttons. We stayed 3 days, and i have not seen not even once to someone clean common areas and wipe handrails, elevator buttons etc. During time like this, this must be done multiple times a day... Oh yes, room overall is old and need maintenance. Not good value for money and poor cleaning is unacceptable.…
Excellent service, good food, all clean, awesome location and view. Comfortable beds but did not sleep very well because ventilation/heater noise was annoing. But still good value for the money. Recommend.
All staff was really friendly and helpful. All the treatments were proffessional and relaxing. Location is super, no parking issues. Breakfast was good and luckily at weekends not too early. Rooms were moderate but very clean - only mattresses were too soft for us :)
Good hotel if your trip is short. It was missing that there was no restaurant available in the evening. It was disliked that the garbage exporter woke up early in the morning under the windows. Good sauna and pool.
