Over the last few years we have stayed at Dunkery Beacon Hotel on many occasions. One of the main attractions of the hotel is the high standards of the proprietors both in the running of the hotel and in particular in the Coleridge Restaurant where the food is superb. The number of awards achieved both for the standards in both...

Enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Dunkery Beacon with friends at the weekend. We received a very warm welcome, the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. The only 'glitch' was that the 2 steaks that the men ordered were muddled up. My husband had ordered a large to be cooked medium and our friend a standard size...

Thank you for taking time to review your stay with us and hope that it was not overshadowed by the glitch. As you have noted, I did make a mistake when cooking the two steaks and did at the time ask for my apologies to be passed on and the meals returned to the kitchen for the opportunity to rectify...

Arrived to a very warm welcome from Jane offering tea and biscuits after our journey. A very comfortably appointed room with a large bathroom including a powerful shower over the bath. Luxury toiletries provided along with homemade shortbread and fresh milk on the tea tray. There is a lovely lounge to relax in before thoroughly enjoying John's freshly cooked food...

This small country hotel is delightful. Our room was beautifully appointed, had a large bay window with amazing views across Exmoor, and a 4 poster bed with very comfortable pillows and bed linen. The food was varied and delicious using local produce. Jane was an excellent host and provided us with local walk ideas tailored to our particular needs. Our...

We arrived having walked over Dunkery Beacon from Withypool on a beautiful day and were greeted warmly by Jane. We had drinks outside in the sunshine before being shown to our ground floor suite which was doggy friendly. Unfortunately we stayed in a Monday so the restaurant was closed so we ordered in a takeaway. The breakfast was delicious and...

Visited with my wife and couldn't fault it as a modern B&B with a touch of class. Room was excellent with very comfortable bed and high end finish with a stunning view and LCD tv and good wifi reception. Jane was very welcoming and John cooked a lovely full English or whatever you prefer. Highly recommend

We had picked the ground floor room/suite. The room was tastefully decorated without being full of clutter or too bare. The small en-suite had a shower (no bath), and there was a small sitting room as well. We enjoyed the tea/coffee facilities, and a fantastic view from the windows. We spend quite some time in the lovely lounge in front...

Booked for a three night DB&B over Christmas which proved a delightful vacation. John's cooking is imaginative and very moorish and the dining ambiance is truly lovely. Front of house is efficiently overseen by Jane ably assisted by Monica. It is amazing that just three folks can provide this excellent hospitality which is only achieved by hard work, good organisation...
