Stunning views over the surrounding mountains suspended from the cable in what isn't a great deal more than a large bucket.. An absolute must for anyone in the area. Just about room for 2 people in the buckets , every 4th on or so even has a canopy. For the full thrill , take an open top bucket/ Fabulous experience for about 15 Euros.

A really good Cable car ride or more accurately a Bucket Car. You have the option of taking a small enclosed cabin or a completely open topped one that looks exactly like a bucket. Good deal for 10.00 Euro return. Some people choose to walk down. The rather basic Cafe is a bit of a rip off and they charge extra 2.00 for bring food out to the terrace. Bring your own food up and a couple of cold cans from a shop in the town. There is a more expensive proper Restaurant, if you want a decent snack maybe pay the extra. Most people stay at the top for an hour or more. Spectacular views from the top and while rising or descending the cableway.

Travelled with 3 children. They actually said they were becoming tired of castles, walking and churches. So we choose a bright sunny day. Parking iffy. But after 2 weeks in Europe you can get better and better at parking and finding parks. 28 Euros- 10x2 euro for adults. I'm unsteady on heights and read the reviews- but I highly recommend it. Views are great. Snack bar for cheaper eats. Did no further walking as suggested. Spend 30+ mins enjoying sunshine and the views. Great new activity instead of architectural marathon.

An exceptional view from the hotel room. A ride there up over 1000 meters was quite exciting. With an open "cabin" for people it costed 25euros and felt dangerous. Especially when we had 3 little kids along. But up in the mountain the view was marvellous. The hotel itself is old and worn but ok for a couple of nights. We had a room for 4 person and baby crib and our own balcony facing the Lake Maggiore. At night you could see the stars very brightly from our balcony. For that a visit was worth it. No air con but when you opened the windows at night you got some cool air coming from the mountains. The hotel has an old playgtound that has some slides etc so, our kids loved it. Small Lizards were running around in the garden and we saw many people paragliding close to this mountain. The night costed around 140e. The hotel had a restaurant that had dinner and hotel had a snack bar. The breakfast was ok (lots of sweet stuff but also some croissants) and it was included. The dinner was not good but there was nothing else. They added 2.5e/person as a service fee to the bill. Be sure to bring your own water bottles since you only get 1/2l per person.

My family and I stayed here for one week in August. Although the rooms are a little dated, they were perfectly comfortable and adequate for our needs. Sure the place could do with some minor repairs and maintenance, but in its current state it felt very homely and we felt very welcomed by Paola the owner. The bucket lift ride up and down was good fun, a great way of seeing the wildlife and of course, the view. I was worried that my kids would freak out going up the lifts, but they were fine about it – a little worried on the first ride, but no problems afterwards. Being a resident of the hotel, we got a pass for the week and a parking permit for our hire car. Note that parking at the bottom of the lift is busy and tight, our hire car took some minor damage due to the tight spaces that were available. Additionally, make sure you have everything you need for the day before heading down, as you won’t want to ride all the way back up to get that thing that you forgot! The restaurant at the hotel served some good quality, tasty dishes. The lasagne and roasted pigs trotter were a favourite of mine. My children claimed that the margarita pizza served was the best that they had in all the restaurants that we visited during our stay. Breakfast was unusual, mostly cakes, some cereal, toast and fresh croissants, plus coffee straight from the café. It was different but perfectly adequate. The view from the hotel is very spectacular, evening meals overlooking the lake were very enjoyable. On a couple of evenings, the heat of the day gave rise to some spectacular storms, strong winds with lightning and thunder overhead. All in all a great place to stay. Recommended, so long as you are not expecting the Hilton!

Fantastic 20min trip in a bucket eerily quiet on the way up and fantastic views of most of the lake. This trip is one of the best around and well worth the fee, young and old will love this. This is one of the best views that you can imagine, nice ice cream at the top as well and places to relax in the sun.

If you are staying near Lake Maggiore then going on the Funivie is an absolute must. The view at the top (much higher than I originally thought,) is one of the best views I have ever seen,; literally took my breath away. It was a beautiful October day when we went so it was wonderful as we had gorgeous weather but none of the crowds or queues you must get in summer. There are deck chairs, swing seats and picnic benches at the top along with a snack bar/cafe and a restaurant (part of the hotel,). We ate at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised and how good the food was seeing as we were a captive audience. Unforgettable views, you will not be disappointed! We found it hard to travel back down to ground level!

What a fun way to see a great view. The 20 minute trip in a bucket is great! You can choose either an open bucket or a closed one, though they did look a little cosy with 2 people in. 10 euros for a return trip. At the top there is a café and a fabulous view. You can walk on further right to the top of the mountain, but to be honest you do not get a better view really.
