Impossible to fault the location, the access to the water and the outdoor facilities but the hotel itself could do with a bit of a refresh. Had a room with balcony overlooking the lake providing an amazing view, however, hair dryer repaired with gaffa tape, bathroom fan with masking tape (actually it didn't work anyway), to stop/start aircon had to... We stayed here for 4 nights as part of an Italian Lakes tour by Newmarket Tours, when we arrived we were given a double room although we had booked a Twin bedded room, the receptionist was very unhelpful, the tour manager had to step in to solve the problem. The replacement room was twin bedded, but each bed had only... More

You go to Hotel Ghiffa for its superb location next to the lake! I have been here twice now and i ll definitely get back later... It is a family owned hotel so don t expect the some services provided in a larger hotels from (high end) hotel chains, do expect a friendly reception.

The Hotel Ghiffa is a beautiful and cosy old style hotel. Italian charme combined with Swiss Ordnung. Friendly staff. Perfect for a relaxing holiday by the nice pool or by the lake shore. Speed boat rental directly from the pier. We will definately return for a stay enjoying this great hotel in such beautiful surroundings.

We stayed here for one night on route back to the UK from Italy. Our room was on the 4th floor with a view over the lake and doors that opened on to a small decked terrace with two comfortable chairs for sun bathing, lounging, reading. Although the room was fairly basic (no fridge, only a shower, no tea /coffee... More

I liked the position and the beautiful views overlooking the lake. Inside, the main public rooms had lovely parquet flooring. The reception area was small and unable to deal with lots of people all at once. The staff were friendly and tried their best although not all were fluent in English. The breakfast was adequate. When a dish was emptied... More

Stayed for four days. It seems to be a traditional hotel being comfortable and very stylish. The room was of a very good size with an excellent bathroom. Meals were of very good quality. They were tasty if a little small. Breakfast buffet was good and after a word to the staff the dinners were well served and tasty. The... More

We stopped by the little town of ghiffa, looking for a place for lunch. We have found a little jewel at the lago maggiore which will see us again! Ghiffa is a small town at the riviera of the lago maggiore, around 45-50 minutes south of the swiss border. The spot is rather unimpressive and could be easy missed. The... More

We stayed here at the end of July 2014. We originally booked a room with lake view but without a terrace, however we decided to upgrade to a room with a terrace and it was well worth it.
