Le Darsene is a gorgeous b&b with stylish rooms overlooking the lake. But the heart of the place is Roberto and his family who are the ultimate hosts. Breakfast has a great variety and good coffee but the best part are the accompanying chats with Roberto. Look no further if you are in the area and you will not be disappointed!
This was our second stay at Le Darsene and we thought it couldn’t get any better, it did! The perfect location of Le Darsene makes you believe you really are living the dream, right on the lake with the most helpful and friendly hosts ever, with the honesty bar and rooftop terrace it truly is the most relaxing place. The ferry port is a five minute walk away , which means you don’t have to rush for the ferry, and it’s easy to check the timetable and get your tickets. We visited the gardens at Villa Taranto, definitely well worth a visit, they were spectacular, with a lovely little restaurant to enjoy a very nice lunch, and not expensive. If you really are looking for an authentic Italian escape look no further you have found it at Le Darsene.
Roberto knows how to please his guests and is very friendly. We had a lovely time, good breakfast, clean rooms and a fantastic view of the lake. Nothing was to much to ask, allways helpful. It was a real treat and we will defenitily recommand this b&b to all our friends. Many thanks Roberto and keep up the goid work, love Jan and Desiree
We had a family room on the ground level with 2 double beds, divided by a sliding door that does not work smoothly but does work. The best aspects were the docks (le darsene) right outside the door, allowing for easy access to the lake for a swim; also the wonderful host Roberto, and the excellent breakfast. Arriving after a hot drive in late June, we were grateful for the water bottles provided in the room. No fridge in room though. Parking was free on the street for the night we were there, and relatively close by. Wifi was good. For a family room, this was good value. There were great views from the rooftop terrace.
Clean, nice room with a small balcony 10 ft from the lake. The location couldn't have been better; a quiet spot a two minutes walk from the city centre. The house is very charming, and has several gardens and a rooftop terrace with sunbeds. Warmly recommended!
Absolutely fabulous, typically Italian house, the host Roberto and his family were welcoming and friendly. The quaint rooms overlooking the lake were pristine, with basic furnishings to the highest standard, with everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. There are only 3 rooms so you feel like you live there. Our balcony overlooked the lake and we woke to the sound of the lake lapping on the shore under the window. Breakfast was a superb selection of continental goodies, with unlimited very good coffee and tea. We had asked for a gluten free breakfast choice for one of our party and we weren’t disappointed, the selection was unbelievable, cakes, biscuits bread all gluten free. This little gem is situated at the very end of the quiet promenade, a few minutes’ walk from the ferry port, an excellent positon for tranquillity but very easy access to the amenities of the very small unspoilt village of Cannobio. I can’t recommend this little B & B highly enough, if you want to experience real Italy on the lakes look no further you have found it.…
