Stayed in this hotel 12 years ago on a business trip and returned with my wife for our wedding anniversary. Stayed in room 3 which has a terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore. Very welcoming staff at check in and at the incredible breakfast included in the price. Reception also provides restaurant recommendations and arranged bookings. Cannot fault this hotel, we will return.

The hotel is located in a nice old town. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are really nice. The whole hotel has a very good atmosphere. Breakfast was really good and in a beautiful space. There is also a very big lounge for people to sit and have free coffee or tea. In the evering it is just a few minutes stroll to the boulevard with many restaurants. The hotel provides free parking, but can be a challenge if your car is somewhat larger. Be aware that we did have a room with the bed and the bath not on the same level. Going down a stair without handrails in the middle of the night can be tricky. Might be better for some people to request same level when they make a reservation. We enjoyed everything at this hotel !! Tips. There is a restaurant just around the corner of the hotel on the side of the path to the boulevard, where we had the most delicious diner for a very good price as well. We visited Isola Bella and Madre south of the town, but it was horrible. Very pricy and really stressfull. We went on a monday in september and it was very crowded. No parking space to be found, parking machines that didn't work, rude people of the many ferry companies everywere. I was so very stressed by everything that I actually started to cry. The Islands weren't very impressive either for this kind of money and many of the paths were closed. It might be better to park somewhere in town en enjoy the islands from the shore. You can book a trip from Cannobio to the islands as well. I don't know if it is any good, but maybe the front desk can help. When you cross the border to Switserland, valle maggia and valle verzasca are just an half hour drive. Sightseeing into the valleys passing beautifull water spots and nice little villages as Foroglio (don't forget to drive beyond there as well)

Great little place close to the water and right in the thick of things in busy, beautiful Cannobio. The hotel is charming, no doubt, but what really separates it from other properties are the two incredibly cheery ladies who took wonderful care of my family: Nadine and Denise. Always happy, always laughing, always looking to assist...in various languages. Even though they were wearing masks due to COVID restrictions, you could see the smiles in their eyes. Nadine and Denise are rock stars and their pictures should be in the dictionary below the term HOSPITALITY. Kudos!

We were looking for special places on our trip to the northern Italy lakes and we certainly found one in the Hotel Pironi. What an incredible hotel, We felt like we were staying in someone's villa - lovely public areas. delicious breakfast, and we loved our room with a balcony with a view of Lake Maggiori. All of the staff were incredibly helpful going above and beyond to answer our questions and even help us with our luggage from the parking lot when e checked in and back again when we departed. The hotel's location is perfect, on a quiet street, but not far from the promenade along the lake. We would highly recommend the Hotel Pironi, and a stay in Cannobio, to anyone wanting a special experience on Lake Maggiori.

Everything about this hotel was just perfect from start to finish and Cannobio is a really lovely little town and a great place from which to enjoy the lake. Having booked 8 nights through a third party site, the hotel staff (Sara and Nadine) were exceptionally helpful, both on the phone and by email, in helping me change it to 7 nights by assisting with cancelling the original booking and allowing me to re-book directly with them. Not only that, but they automatically did this at a lower rate than the original booking - very classy! They also replied to emails asking about local transport links in just a few hours and were so helpful in all their suggestions. Once there, Hotel Pironi didn't disappoint either, it's just as beautiful and unique as all the photos suggest. Our room was spacious and had a charming balcony above a quiet street with views down to the lake - perfect for coffee, lunch and evening glasses of wine! The bathroom was spotlessly clean and a really good size with complimentary toiletries which were replenished every day. The lounge is a great place to relax and read, especially on the one day of rain we had - the complimentary tea and coffee (and biscuits!) are a really nice touch and something we made use of quite a lot. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with eggs to order and all the continental spread you could wish for. And although they don't cater for lunch or evening meals, the staff were more than happy to provide us with plates, cutlery and napkins when we bought bread and cheese to eat on our balcony! And they also provided some suggestions of where to eat in the evenings which proved excellent guidance. All in all, this is an exceptional hotel, with staff who seem very willing go the extra mile for their guests as standard, even before they have arrived! I cannot recommend it highly enough!
