Stayed here for 2 nights, for a family wedding. Very cozy place, old school but with all comforts. Nice swimming pool, beautiful common space rooms, big bedrooms. But I would be remiss if I wouldnt make a mention, by name, to a staff member: António Rodrigues. We need people like him everywhere. Very professional, but a wonderful person. Always smiling, and accepting our compliments with the utmost respect and humbleness. This type of person makes our journeys more personable, and memorable. Thanks!
I had stayed at this place a few times before but never for more than one night at a time. Even though they were ful for the New year period they did not made it compulsory to include the New Year Gala Diner, like other hotels we have contacted did. We stayed here for 3 nights and ended up going to the diner anyway. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was really excellent. The staff is very helpful and extremely amicable. This is not a hotel for everybody. You must have a certain nostalgia for this old fashion places and really appreciate all that goes with it but if you do this is a place that you must visit. One day there may be not enough people enjoying this but I pray it stays like this to the end.
The place looks somehow old fashioned, with the alleys full to capacity with old furniture and table lamps. The bath rooms OK but in need of updating. The hotel is tranquil and the staff nice and easy going. Continental breakfast slightly below average. Worth its money but not to be excited about.
Fabulous antique furnishings, lovely grounds, rooms and swimming pool. I told my husband on our honeymoon, that if I ever went missing, THIS is where he should look. VERY fond memories of this Hotel. Need to re-visit to give an up-to-date review, but I’m ready..!
I stayed at this hotel for one night because I traveled for a wedding that was nearby. We got a discount for staying as part of the wedding. The stay included free breakfast. Although the hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly, I don't think it was worth what we paid. The rooms were a bit outdated and the tiles above the bathtub were cracked. There is a pool and free Wi-Fi.
