My partner and I had booked a night for the w.e and because I am Gold with Hotels.com, I normally get a late check-out. Well when I asked, I was abruptly told that I could "only get into the room at 4pm on Sat (half of the day is gone by the time you get to the pool) and would have to check out at noon the next day and that would also mean I would not be able to use the pool after 12". "Not more later under any concept". That really makes you feel special. Well I took my money and went to a 4+* in Calonge where you could get into the room at 3pm and I was given a late check-out. So not only Trias lost me as a client but because we are from here, all the recommendations I will now make for the other hotel to our friends and business partners visiting.
Staying at this hotel was overall a pleasant experience. The food was delightful and the pool was excellent. The staff, specifically one receptionist was very dismissive to my friend and I, later gossiping about us to a colleague in Spanish, clearly under the impression we couldn't translate what she was saying. This aside, the hotel was lovely. 3
This is such a lovely hotel and such a great location (on the beach front). Even though we stayed off season in the winter it had a real charm. There's a maritime theme to the hotel and the white washed walls with quirky art add to the decor. The receptionist was very helpful, checked us in quickly and gave us a really nice room on one of the nigher floors. She also helped with the luggage, wifi, tips on where to eat etc. The hotel has a nice bar that also does some quick bar snacks like patatas bravas. The room was large, comfortable and quiet and we had a view of the waterfront via a nice balcony. We would love to visit again, perhaps in the summer when the town and hotel come alive.
Lovely spacious hotel with lots of wood and stylish interior design. Rooms are a great size and the location is fabulous too. Sadly the staff are lacking basic customer service skills like engaging and empathising with the guests. Our bathroom in room 220 had damp and consequently a bad odour. I did report it to reception and ask for a diffuser or a quick wall coating to mask the smell but this fell on deaf ears. Getting a night cap in the bar late at night is also an issue. Good breakfast but again lazy disinterested staff to meet and greet you.
Beautiful hotel, authentically preserved decorative features Close to old town, bus station and access to Cami de Rhonda walks Great breakfast selection Beautiful promenade and hotel is close to lots of lovely places to eat
