My wife and I had a great stay on our honeymoon at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. The staff was very friendly and helped to make our honeymoon stay exceptional. We had a fantastic lunch and dinner with terrific service and I enjoyed a round of golf on the beautiful golf course there with the castle and lake in the background with very friendly service from Adrian in the pro shop who took the time to explain the history of the course and walk me and my wife to the first tee. Wonderful experience at The Lodge!

Hotel's Favourite
My first contact on line and by phone with the Lodge was with Natalie, and she was extremely professional and helpful. Nothing seemed too much for her to ensure that we would have a good time at the Lodge. Our check in and check out was handled swiftly and professional . We stayed overnight at the Lodge in the Guinness Suite. What a treat that was. The room is spacious, plenty wardrobe space, the usual's available, iron+ board, hairdryer, fridge, kettle, coffee and tea, complimentary water, TV and 'open fire' place and seating area. Bath towels and the bed linen were excellent as were the bathroom products, which were by the 'Handmade Soap Company' a favourite of mine. One knows a lot about the establishment already from these three items alone. So well done The Lodge, they were great. The suite had a bath in the room, the bathroom itself was a tad small, and if I were to make a small suggestion? It could do with a small shelf on the wall, to store some personal toiletries, as there is no space for those. The décor, what can I say? Very very glitzy and modern and stylish. What I liked about the Lodge was that they kept if 'different'. They are on the grounds of Ashford Castle, and there is no way one can compete with Ashford Castle, and the way the Lodge is decorated is totally different. They are not trying to be a mini 4 star Ashford.... if you know what I am trying to say. They are their own 4 star hotel with their own theme. There is lots of modern local art, it is funky and we loved it. We had a great terrace outside our suite, and we certainly used that during our stay. The outside terrace of the Lodge itself is by far THE PRETTIEST terrace I have ever seen, with the beautiful red flowers, the 'trees' and the view. Just a delight. The grounds are kept impeccable well maintained. We dined at 'Wilde's and the service and the food was outstanding. Our waiter was Shane(I am nearly sure) and he could not have been more helpful and professional. The food was simply outstanding. The salmon starter with trout caviar .... what can I say? Out of this world. Breakfast was also great. Another outstanding experience was the Falcon Tour. We booked the extended Falconry tour and was it fabulous.! Our expert guide was called Mel and she could not have been nicer. So informative and professional. The falcon tour is a 'must'. We also did the 2 hour boat trip from Ashford Castle was was also very informative. Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back, this time for a longer stay. Overall a great experience. It has been a very difficult time for the entire country with Covid, but especially for the hospitality industry. I wish The Lodge well. You did a great job in a very trying time. May be we would never have discovered our own country...... we would have been away somewhere in the Maldives or Africa.... So it was nice to experience what Ireland has to offer!

Dear Carla P, Thank you so much for your review and your kind words. We were just thrilled to hear your thoughts on your recent stay. We are so proud of the team here and we were delighted that that you felt that we took such great care of you, from Natalie on our Front Desk, to Shane in Wildes restaurant and Mel in The Falconry School we are very proud of the level of hospitality we deliver each and every day. All of our Suites are individually designed and features bespoke furniture with the emphasis on comfort, space, contemporary design and striking décor. On any given day it is very hard to beat the sweeping views down to Lough Corrib. We are very passionate about sustainability and the use of natural products on the estate so for you to appreciate The Handmade Soap Company toiletries in the bathroom means so much to us. We are blessed to have such an eclectic range of art on display I was delighted to hear that you enjoyed our art. Chef Jonathan Keane and his team work very hard every day to make quality dishes from quality local producers, it is a testament to the team to hear your wonderful comments and goes to prove that hard work really does pay off. The Falconry Hawk walk is my most favourite activity here on the Ashford Estate, it is an amazing experience and is one I am glad you got to take part in. I have shared your kind words with the team and their response has been amazing. We appreciate that you have taken such great care and time to post such a kind review. Ireland does indeed has so much to offer and we are so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful estate, there really is no place like home. We hope to welcome you back very soon to The Lodge at Ashford Warm regards Peter

From the Minute we arrived Peter and his team couldn't do enough for us. Bernard on the front desk was so friendly and efficient. We had dinner in the Quay bar for a more relaxed vibe and still had the option of the restaurant menu which was great as it meant we were both happy and we couldn't fault Aoibheann in the quay bar she was so attentive and friendly. We had the pleasure of staying in a beautiful suite and it had everything you could have wanted and more, ideal for a wet Friday night stay in October!(The bath!!! OMG) Breakfast was very tasty and so many options and again all the staff in the breakfast room very helpful and Friendly (Rory) amougst others served us here. Luckily for us Saturday cleared up and we got to enjoy walks on the beautiful gounds of the estate! Couldn't recommend enough and we will most defiently be back!
