We have just come home from spending two nights in Cong staying at Ryan’s River Lodge B&B and we have to say this accommodation can not be faulted. The property is located right beside the Cong Abbey and just around the corner from all the restaurants and shops in the pretty village of Cong - location excellent! Our Host, Martha, was so welcoming and friendly. We were given Room 6 which was quiet, clean and well equipped. The bed was super comfortable and had the added bonus of electric blanket which is a wonderful extra. Tea and coffee making facilities and tv also along with full en suite and electric shower. Fresh towels were also put into the bathroom daily. During this uncertain time of a world wide pandemic this property was at all times clean and fully sign posted with Social Distancing signs along with hand sanitizer at every available space. The use of face shields by the staff was very reassuring and we really appreciate how safe we felt. Martha was wonderful in giving us advice about where to visit and explore and when I rang ahead looking for advice about booking a table for dinner that evening she was able to offer me advice about times etc.... there were COVID 19 guidelines left in our room and we found this super helpful. The breakfast each morning was cooked to order with plenty of fresh produce and freshly brewed coffee. I applaud Martha and her family for opening their accommodation to us during this Summer and we would like to thank them for a really wonderful relaxing and safe trip to the beautiful Cong. Well done to Ryan’s River Lodge!!

We stayed here in a mine staycation last month. We arrived on a Friday for 3 nights. We had a fab view out over the river. The room was absolutely spotless, decent size & warm.

Each breakfast was freshly cooked each morning with a great selection on offer.

The host(s) were incredibly friendly, cheerful & kind.

The B&B was only a very short walk (even in heels) from the local restaurants & bars and no distance at all from the local forest walks & the grounds of Ashford Castle.

We’ll definitely stay here again when back in Cong.

If you're touring the west of Ireland, Ryan's River Lodge is the perfect stopover for the weary traveler. A warm welcome and authentic hospitality. The location overlooking the river Cong and close to the abbey makes for a very chilled experience.

Our room was bright and comfortable and the breakfast cooked to perfection.

A big thank you to Martha, our host at Ryan's River Lodge, for her understanding when we had to change our travel arrangements.

We would stay here again in a heart beat.

This was my first trip to this part of the world and what a special place it is, and hosts David and Martha a very special people. The lodge is welcoming, warm and well-equipped, and my colleagues (we were on a sporting trip) ate, drank and slept exceedingly well - no road noise, dark and quiet rooms, the beds even had electric blankets for added luxury. The food deserves particular mention as it was outstanding - local, freshly prepared and plentiful. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for one night only as we was visiting daughter whom works in Ashford castle . What a gem this place is .
Hospitality was second to non, rooms where cosy and rustic and very clean and COVID procedure was very comforting .

Martha made us very welcome and the breakfast service was second to non , great location , fishing I hear is very good so will be trying thy out next year .

Really couldn’t ask for a better place to stay, next door to rover and walk, 2 minutes to village pubs and restaurants and true Irish hospitality .

You really have to try it to believe it !!

Several members of our family stayed at Ryans river logde cong a few weeks ago and i could not recommend it highly enough. Bedrooms are simply decorated and spotlessly clean. White linen and foxford throws on very comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent with great choice, beautifully cooked with quality ingredients. The breakfast room is a beautiful bright light filled room tastefully furnished and decorated as is the communal room. This wonderful family run b&b is well wort a visit.

With all due respect to the other hotels and B&Bs in Cong (I've only stayed in this one), if you're coming to Cong this is the perfect place to stay. Centrally located right in the middle of town (yes, I know it's not a big town) but still extremely quiet. If you want to sleep with the windows open, no problem, literally a "babbling brook" right across the street. Staff are as friendly as can be, breakfast is wonderful and the rooms are very quiet and very clean. Rooms are not large, but they make a great use of the space and the bathrooms are ample. My only wish is that I could stay here longer...

I cannot fault Ryan's River Lodge. Being a B&B owner myself I think I know what to look for. It ticks all the boxes. My room was sparkling clean, my bed really comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Martha who runs the B&B with her family couldn't be more helpful and friendly. The B&B is in the heart of the village, no need for car, although there is guest parking. Several bar restaurants practically on the doorstep. No distance from the wonderful Cong Abbey. If I am ever in the area again will definitely stay there, it would make a wonderful base for touring Galway, Mayo and Connemara.

I do not believe so. There is a short stairway just inside the door. It is a delightful place to stay, though...located perfectly for visiting the village and exploring Ashford Castle.
