Our room was clean, comfortable and the bed was fantastic. We just booked a room after walking up from the boat. Room was 120k kip. They also run a bakery across the road that has the best muffins we have had in a long time (bananna with cashews) while their sandwiches and coffees are great too.

Booked this on trip reviews. Noisy until the shops shut up shop for the night. All you need. Extractor fan. Fan. Aircon in a small room though seems strange. Good bed though and clean. Good shower. Bakery opposite owned by the same person. So there's always somebody around if you need them. Good restaurant(sabadee) opposite.

We took the slowboat to Luang Prabang and had to stay in Pakbeng one night. We booked this hotel online before to be sure to have a place for the night. And the stay was just fine. Clean, wifi, aircon and nice beds. But if you want to save money there is no reason for booking online. There are so...

Nice clean rooms (we booked 2) with ensuite bathrooms. We booked via an agency in Chiange Khong so would be cheaper to book direct, but the agency booking was for an end-to-end 2 day trip on Mekong River. At first the owner seemed a tad grumpy when we arrived, but was actually really really helpful; gave us 2 rooms side...

Great cheap clean Room, very good value, we stayed on the ground floor and had no issues. Good location on the main road a few hundred metres up from the boat landing. We just stayed overnight and enjoyed restaurant options up the road.

I paid 90000 for the double room incl. ac. The bed was medium hard and the bath ok. It was the cleanest room through my laos journey. I think tourists who gave the hostel 1 point stay usually in upper class hotels. Maybe they should go in another country. :)

Monsovanh GH is nothing to get excited about....it is one of quite a few perfectly serviceable guesthouses at the middle/lower end of the market. But it is clean, it has wifi, toiletries, drinking water, aircon and a shower that is a little strange but can be made to work! However it has one major plus...is has its own generator. ....

Like most people we just stayed for one night whilst taking the slow boat from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai (Thai border). We'd looked at some reviews online and had a couple of guesthouses in mind when we arrived, choosing not to go with any of the people waving hotel adverts at us as we got off the boat. Monsavanh...

Pakbeng really has little to offer except as a halfway point on a two day 'slow boat' trip down the Mekong River. The boat arrives late in the afternoon, and is met by the usual crowd of semi-enthusiastic touts all trying to get your business. We had pre-booked a double room on the ground floor for US$40 which was WAY...

I don't think Pakbeng has many great places to stay but this one works just fine. Rooms were basic, but had air conditioning, hot water and wifi! Don't forget your earplugs otherwise you may be woken up by all the sounds Southeast Asia has to offer. Our rate included breakfast across the street, we opted for coffee and fresh baked...
