We are quite well travelled, have stayed in many hotels worldwide and this was our 10th Couples that became Sensimar, now rebranded to Blu for Adults hotel. This was originally booked for October 2020 but postponed for 12m owing to Covid. It looked an attractive and interesting design, the Trip Adviser Reviews were Excellent and it appeared good value. We booked a Junior Suite with Private Pool and Garden View. On arrival, the initial impression was excellent, the hotel entrance is impressive as is the bright lounge with big windows with sea views being the high point. Turkey & Bodrum can be seen just 12 miles away. The check in was quite efficient and we were told we'd been upgraded to a Sea View Room, I was a little concerned as to the reason we'd been upgraded, I should have queried it at the time but we'd been travelling and missed a nights sleep so were pleased to arrive and just wanted to unpack and rest. We were driven to our room (3143) in an electric buggy which was good because with 410 rooms across 5 blocks we'd never have found it. We were in block 3 towards the end of the grounds. The room was very nice, I would say recently refurbished and well equipped, with all the usual accessories that you'd expect in a 4 star hotel apart from missing the usual box of Tissues, a Face Flanel and my wife missed the Body Lotion. What we weren't prepared for was the absence of a bathroom door although there was a clear glass door on both the loo & shower. The clear glass door on the loo was pointless and made the loo area a little tight for space. There was a door stop on the floor to prevent the door banging on the wash basin owing to the shortage of space which my wife banged her foot on a couple of times. I'd suggest removing the door completely as it didnt serve any useful purpose and the door stop with it. Obviously a door is required on the shower to prevent water flooding the floor. The next disappointment was the Private Pool area. We paid £628 for the Private Pool with Garden View, not for the pool but for a Private Terrace and the convenience of being able to pop in & out of our room & close proximity of all our things including the mini bar. The problem is that the sea facing side of the hotel faces North and as any home owner knows, this means that your garden is in the shade. Here, this is made worse because the building is 4 storeys high and so the terrace was only in the sun for approx 1 hour a day in the morning. See pics below. There were 4 or 5 Private Pools in our section and they were all similarly affected. Being in the shade all day also meant that even at the end of the summer, the water was cold as it didnt get any sun to warm it up. The All Inclusive drinks were a disappointment too. Only one Red or one White Wine, No Sparkling, only one Beer and a limited range of Cocktails that included just 2 with Rum which is my wife's tipple. Having stayed in 10 Tui Adults only 4 Star hotels, this is the worst selection since we stayed in Pula, Croatia in 2013. This is now joint bottom out of the 10 hotels for drinks. There was an optional paid for drinks list but Prosecco was 8 Euro's a glass and the Cocktails dearer still that would have added considerably to our costs over our 2 week stay. We found the main restaurant to be noisy, a combination of poor acoustics and the noise from the fans & live cooking so after the first couple of meals we always sat in the much quieter outside area. This was much more relaxed & pleasant. We don't normally do the entertainment because in our experience it is very similar in all the hotels but we did go to the Greek Night for the music & dancing which was excellent and I'd be definitely recommend it. There was a TV in the room with 23 channels but only 2 English speaking channels that were BBC World News (not BBC UK news) and Sky News. This surprised me as approx 50% of the guests were from the UK. On a positive note, the staff were very good and there were some shining stars. For us they were: 1/ The lady that we called the bread lady because she was on the bread counter every morning and that was Rezan who was always smiling, cheerful and helpful. 2/ our main waiter Joey, very attentive and knew what we drank & had our drinks ready every night. Top man. 3/ Constantin who was on the beach bar during the day and in the lounge every evening. Also very kind, helpful & interested in the guests. 4/ Themis on Reception who showed great patience & calmness when helping us printing our boarding passes & plf forms. 5/ Finally, the brightest star is Antonis Trakossa who is simply the best Maitre D we've ever had anywhere. He was genuinely there to do the absolute best for his guests, nothing was too much trouble, but more than that he engaged with us and showed a genuine interest in people. He was informative about Greece & Kos too. He was fun and it was his experience with people that set him apart. He made our holiday. In summary: Pro's Nice hotel, modern, great views from the lounge, spotlessly clean, good & plentiful food. Great staff = Great Service and top Maitre'D ! Kos town a short 10 minute 1.50 euro(tickets available in hotel shop) frequent bus ride away. Cons: Most rooms North Facing and in the shade, particularly poor if you have private pool or jacuzzi. Sea view was very disappointing, see photo below. Small balcony if you dont have pool or jacuzzi Poor drinks selection. No bathroom door, no tissues, flanel or body lotion in room. Only 2 UK TV Channels, no BBC or ITV No shops or bars etc near the hotel Finally, we'd already booked for 2 weeks next year on 4th October in a Junior Suite with Jacuzzi but in view of most of these being 100% in the shade, regrettably we are going to cancel this.

This was our second visit to the Oceanis, and we'd definitely come back for a third, fourth, fifth... The team have gone to fantastic lengths to protect us from COVID. Spotlessly clean as always, the buffet was great meaning guests weren't all handling the serving spoons was great. I'm confused why some reviews said staff doing the serving were miserable...maybe they weren't polite to the staff themselves as we found the staff on the buffet to be lovely and would give you as much or as little as you liked on your plate. It should also be obvious that it will be busier at 'peak' times like 7.30-8pm so if you don't want to queue for your food, just go earlier or later. We had the Timeless Dinner one night and the Meltemi another, both were incredible! Really made a highlight of the holiday for us. Muazzez who works on the main restaurant was so lovely, had a chat with her most days and she, like all the other staff work so hard and really do go out of their way to make the experience at the hotel personal and ensure you feel valued as a guest. Personally, we preferred the sunbeds down by the beach so never had any issues at all getting one at any time of day, also, the sea was warmer than the pool so we preferred swimming in there. We bought a snorkel from the onsite shop and it was great watching the fish swim around the pier, the sea is so clear (pool shoes did come in useful!). We had a jacuzzi room with sea view (like last time we stayed) and would stay here next time too. Very spacious rooms, jacuzzi a real treat and our room was literal steps from the Ostria beach bar! The room was spotless with housekeeping going in daily to ensure it stayed that way. Lola who cleaned our room most days was wonderful, so friendly and worked very hard! The evening entertainment was good though we didn't stay for it every night, choosing to take advantage of the hot tub on several nights, but our favourite was the DJ with a packed dancefloor all night, such a laugh! I've mentioned a few staff members in here, but they were all wonderful and do make the hotel what it is, resulting in loyal guests who keep coming back, thank you!

This was our 4th visit to Oceanis beach and spa and as with our previous holidays we have had the best time ever. This hotel never fails to impress and we are already looking forward to our return visit next year. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, spotlessly clean and with a luxurious feel. The weather at this time of year is always warm and sunny and we spent our days on the beach, swimming in the sea, enjoying the cocktails and eating delicious food from the beach restaurant. We joined in many activities, I especially loved aqua fun with the fabulous Harry and beach skittles with the delightful Florence. We always enjoy the evening entertainment, Il Divo were incredible and the Greek dancing and singers are always a highlight. We enjoyed many delicious meals in the Yacht restaurant and loved the extra special dining experience in the Culinarium and the Italian restaurants. However what makes our holiday at Oceanis the ultimate first class experience is the hotel staff. They truly are the nicest, most genuine hard working team of people we have ever encountered. Their energy, attention to detail and rapport with their guests and colleagues is outstanding. I must make a special attention to Antonis ( restaurant manager) an amazing man, hard working, always smiling, well respected by his team and guests, and who my husband and I now class as a friend. The same for Stephanos ( operation food and beverage manager) always visible, hard working, makes time for his guests and staff, he makes us laugh and no matter how busy he is he will always take time to chat and check that everything is ok. A special mention also to the lovely Lily and polite Klerdi who served us at breakfast and in the evening. We also loved being greeted by the beautiful Muazzez at the restaurant entrance each day. Also we mustn’t forget the cheerful, funny, hard working barmen ( and girls) at the pool bar. Oceanis keep on doing what you do so well and see you all next year. Helene and Pedros ( Emma and Peter)

Lovely hotel and setting on the beach looking out to the Turkish coast - friendly and attentive staff- particularly Constantin whose constant upbeat presence raised spirits every day and Laura our cleaner whose work was meticulous - given Covid imposed restrictions it was a great 7 day stay - food was delicious and offered a wide range to suit all tastes - would recommend the Culanarium restaurant where the Fish Stew and Monk Fish skewer were a delight - our room was right on the beach with a hot tub well worth the upgrade

I visited this hotel with my partner for 10 nights after my dream holiday to Thailand was cancelled during the Covid pandemic. You may have thought I was disappointed that I wasn't able to travel to Thailand, however my stay at this hotel was so luxurious and relaxing we I'm no way felt that we had compromised. The staff at the hotel we so friendly and helpful. The a la carte restaurant was excellent and I was incredibly impressed by the meal I had there. I am not a person to go back to the same hotel as we will only get so many holidays and there's a lot of world to see. However, Oceanis blu is one for a repeat visit in the future!
