You will be amazed to discover, while crossing the paved narrow street of our sophisticated 5 star hotel amongst the distinct Aegean style small white houses of Mykonos town, how perfectly the architecture melts into nature. At daylight, all Semeli hotel's colors, stones, bushes and trees lie in perfect harmony with the sea and the sky, making you feel like home.

At Semeli Hotel, guests have found the rooms to be on the smaller side, yet the inclusion of features such as hot tubs and impressive views add to their appeal, despite occasional noise complaints. The atmosphere of gracious hospitality is frequently lauded, contributing to the hotel's genuine vibe, although tranquility can sometimes be disturbed by noise. Amenities, including the well-maintained pools and the diverse breakfast buffet, receive high marks for quality and convenience.
The hotel's location is celebrated for its peacefulness, while proximity to Mykonos Town and the Port makes it ideal for exploring local attractions and nightlife. Guests consider the value of their stay to be excellent, enjoying 5-star quality at reasonable prices, and the service receives accolades for its exceptional, personal touch. The hotel's cleanliness is also a standout feature, with travelers consistently noting the immaculate conditions throughout.

Detailed Reviews
My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Semeli hotel for our honeymoon, and could not have made a better choice on this hotel. The location is phenomenal, every other hotel we considered at the same price range was super far from the old town of Mykonos, but this was a perfect 5 minute walk. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the grounds are beautiful yet quiet and tucked away from old town. The staff here works so hard and is so phenomenal, they are so polite and really helpful and accommodating.
The breakfast was seriously incredible and we missed it the rest of our trip, it was wonderful, open till 12 which was so convenient, and constantly replenished all hours of breakfast which was nice if you were to come later, the food was still fresh. The restaurant Krama is also really a great experience, the food was phenomenal, would highly recommend for dinner when they reopen for the season.
Our room was also beautiful and very clean, a bit small but the room was really bright and beautiful.Walls are a bit thin especially if you have two other rooms right next to you, and I wish they had nicer toiletries and a full length mirror, but nevertheless the room had a beautiful view with the balcony facing the pool. We also took advantage of the laundry service which was also great and reasonably priced at about 25 euro for a full bag of laundry.
The pool was also lovely, and had a decent amount of chairs and sunbeds. The only thing was that people were reserving beds all day and not using them, so this became very annoying for people who would come later in the day to use the pool. I wish the staff would put a sign or let people know they shouldn't do this, as its not really fair to other guests. People should not be hogging the sunbeds for all hours of the day if they're not using them, we saw several couples come to the pool area and notice no beds were available, and then left.
We didn't really receive any greeting or any acknowledgement regarding our honeymoon which was a bit disappointing, however this did not affect our stay as we still had a wonderful time and experienced a great stay regardless. The staff here is truly incredible and they make sure you are taken care of, the service is excellent! Would stay here again in a heartbeat on any future trips to Mykonos.

We made the reservation with the hotel directly a very good fluidity in our exchanges on our arrival a good welcome fast support with the precautionary measures following the Covid 19 the photos describing the rooms and the hotel were in conformity with what we were able to discover.
This hotel enjoys an ideal location as it is close to the city center of the sea, nearby restaurants by the beach.
You can, if you wish, rent any type of Quad scooter car.
Very pleasant attentive staff, always with a smile, excellent food, perfect breakfast as French people I have to complain about the Ahahahaha croissant.
I invite you to discover the small swimming pool which is in fact a kind of large jacuzzi with a hot water temperature where it is good to relax in the evening.
Not to be confused with the jacuzzi which is by the pool.
We rented a Quad to cover a large part of the island.

We stayed as a family of two adults and two teens in a Garden Suite with pool for six nights after visiting Santorini.
On arrival, we were told we had been upgraded to a two bed suite with pool view, which I thought was amazing at first! Having seen the room, it had a hot tub inside (which we wouldn’t have used) and my daughters would have had to share a double bed. The main pool was right outside the room and it was very small with not many sun beds. I know they usually have more but there are less because of Covid.
The reason I booked the Garden Suite was because the hot tub was outside and it was more like a miniature pool. We also had our own sun loungers. The one room also had two single beds so that my daughters didn’t have to share. Therefore, this suited our needs much better. The two bedrooms had their own bathrooms with excellent showers and the toiletries were nice.
I booked through Booking.com and it states on there that you get a kettle in your room. This wasn’t the case for us.
The restaurant was ok but some of the staff were quite stand-offish. At breakfast, there were several occasions where we had to ask for coffee or we would order it and it never arrived. It seemed like they were short staffed as tables were quite often not made up or cleared. One waiter (man with curly hair) was the most professional and seemed at times (in the evenings) to be the only one doing any work whilst others were more interested in their phones.
Location wise, the hotel is very central and it is a short walk to bars, restaurants and shops.
Mykonos is extremely over priced for drinks, meals etc. It actually makes Dubai look reasonable!
To us, the hotel lacked certain 5* aspects especially when you are paying high prices so we wouldn’t go back. We also felt it is more suitable for young couples.

We stayed at Semeli and highly recommend it. The property is in incredible location. Semeli Hotel is in town but away from the crowded and loud area which you don’t want to stay but a short (5-8 mins) beautiful walk to the main center of the town. Very private. Pool is heavenly. Staff couldn’t be any friendlier and attentive. Breakfast with the best cakes ever. Selection of fresh fruits and food. All delicious. Lady in the breakfast room always sweet and welcoming. The breakfast room is quiet and not packed with obnoxious tourists and children so you can actually relax in peace and quiet before you start your day. The restaurants at the property are 5 star and considered one of the top chef in Mykonos. The cleanliness of the rooms are top notch with great amenities. It’s for sure a First Class resort/property! Would go back 100%.

The grounds, location, pool, restaurants, rooms are lovely, but what sets this hotel apart is the extraordinary staff. We are very experienced travelers and have stayed at hundreds of hotels (quite literally) and make considerable effort to find simpatico venues.
By definition, inclination and good business sense people in the hospitality business are motivated to make their guests comfortable and reasonably happy. But it is a rare and exemplary occurrence to find such a uniformly kind, good tempered, intelligent and diplomatic crew. They have the good sense to respect everyone's space, but are ready and alert to be more sociable and helpful when their clientele are receptive.
Parts of Mykonos town can get quite crowded and even tacky. The hotel's location is ideal for those of us who enjoy a pleasant urban walk and a sanctuary from the more boisterous sectors of Chora.
As with nearly every hotel, there are minor defects that could (and should) be corrected. In four days, we never had more than lukewarm water at the sink and mostly weak water pressure. Thankfully, hot showers were available. The pillows were as hard as seat cushions. Why is it so many hotels install nice little ceiling lights in bathrooms-resulting in twilight conditions at the mirror-shaving and/or putting makeup on are adversely affected. With all the dimmer buttons we had several nights when the lights came on three or four times after we had shut them all off. I don't fully buy the hotel's explanation that it was the result of minor power outages. It would be nice to have a night light in the bathroom. Those ceiling lights blast into the bedroom through the clear glass panel at the top.
The breakfast buffet was very good, but not exceptional. The two hotel restaurants are admirable, another reason to stay here.
We enjoyed our stay and will recommend the hotel to our friends.

my main complaint is that the resort does not give complimentary water bottles in the room. You cannot drink thr tap water in the island as it is not clean. the resort charges 3 euros a bottle and another 2 euros for room service (to bring the water). to me. this is ridiculous and pretty shrewd on their part. i stayed in nicer hotels in athens and oia santorini, and both had comolimentary water bottles everyday for the guests. additionally, the rooms were not that impressive...they were small and the toilet water kept running which they weren't able to fix. the bones of the building are old and they seemed to create an interior structure to hold the room and the restroom without upsetting the original building. it makes it look odd. other than that, the resort property is nice and spacious and they serve good breakfast.

It has a perfect location: you can walk easily downtown to enjoy the restaurants and the night life of Mykonos town. On the other hand, you are just by the outer ring road, and can easily get to your preferred beach by car. The hotel has an underground parking space that makes getting in and out very smooth.
The swimming pool is excellent, either for a day you skip the beaches or for a drink when you come back from the beaches.
The rooms are modern, all white, and have a gorgeous view.
On top of this, you have a wonderful staff, everyone is so friendly and warm. The staff makes the difference from all the other hotels we have stayed in Mykonos.

Lovely and luxurious hotel just the right size to feel perfectly comfortable and at home in Mykonos.
+ amazing staff, super friendly and competent
+ kind housekeeping, very efficient and the place is super clean
+ breakfast fresh, great choice with almost everything being home made. We did not feel any Coronavirus impact at all. The buffet is closed and the perfectly friendly team will pick everything for you and hand you over the plate.
+ spa with very professional treatments by Christina who is a very accomplished massage therapist
+ cosy atmosphere
+ free valet parking
+ in Mykonos town so just a short walk to all restaurants and bars
- rooms, especially bathroom are quite small, at least the one we had
- spa atmosphere, super small place
Overall one of the few hotels worth returning to

We were here last year and upon returning there was only one place to stay, the Semeli. This family run Luxury hotel lies in a quiet part of Mykonos, but still only 10 minutes walking to the harbour or Little Venice.
Being returning guests we were suprised with a room upgrade to a lovely sea view room. We really felt welcome! The room was excellent, the pool is nice and breakfast is great with everything you could want, including eggs to order. The restaurant was also really nice.
When we come back to Mykonos we come back to the Semeli!

I am so confused by the endless good reviews for this hotel. In my experience it’s extremely underwhelming and poor value. We had to change accommodation at very short notice as our hotel decided to close for the season and booked Semeli in a bit of a panic based on the positive reviews. The location is very convenient if you want to be able to walk into town and the staff are charming but that’s the extent of the positives. I realised quickly after we checked in that this hotel is partnered with Tui and a lot of guests are on package holidays. I think this is the reason for the extreme variance in expectations. We travel to Mýkonos for luxury stays with unrivalled service. This is not the hotel for that type of trip but the prices we paid created that expectation.
I won’t go into the endless boring inconveniences we encountered when we were there but in general it felt a bit cheap..... sun loungers all reserved before 9am, a continuous shortage of pool towels, the breakfast is poor and lots of things are extra or simply unavailable (for example, you can’t have spinach in your omelette at breakfast but you can buy a spinach salad at lunch??, juices are concentrate, no a la carte options etc) and rooms are tired. This is not a 5 star hotel. It’s probably good value on a package holiday but if you’re used to staying in luxury independent hotels in Mykonos avoid this place!

Not that I know of. You'll have to message the hotel direct.
We visited Oct last year (2023) and it was quite busy in the evenings with most restaurants open and pretty full between 7-9pm. Beaches were reasonably quiet which was great.
The weather was a perfect 23c cloudless skies and the Hotel Semeli was amazing.
Only caveat is that it's an expensive Island!
Perfect hotel for this, short walk to town with stroller & you will absolutely love the hotel! We can't wait to go back!!

North Yorkshire, United Kingdom74 contributions71 helpful votesIs the Semeli Hotel located in a hilly area or a reasonably flat area?
at the top of a moderate hill, the walk up is no problem at all
Hotel wise it will be perfect but the weather can still be very hot in early-mid Sept so please bear that in mind.
