Detailed Reviews
Staff:
The staff at illio Maris are absolutely wonderful. Jason the hotel’s assistant manager was extremely helpful in sorting a hotel payment dispute with booking.com before arriving in Mykonos and was very welcoming on our arrival taking our bags to our rooms and offering us a choice of two rooms. The staff were also extremely helpful in giving recommendations on places to eat & drink and also made bookings for us at beach clubs etc. The hotel staff played an amazing part in making our stay so wonderful. Shout out to the Pool bar man “Christos” who made fantastic cocktails and also made several suggestions on where to go in Mykonos including the 180 sunset bar which was the highlight of our trip. If you’re looking for top service in Mykonos this hotel is the one for you.
The hotel also offers complimentary transfers from the airport which isn’t a far journey however taxis on the island can be expensive for short journeys.
Location:
Great location of exploring Mykonos town. Just a short 5-10 min walk into the main streets of Mykonos. The hotel is nicely away from the main bars so noise isn’t an issue. Please note the walk back from the main town is up a hill so if you struggle walking then bare this in mind however the hotel will be able to sort you a taxi if you ask the reception staff.
Facilities:
Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had a big balcony which was very nice for enjoying a drink at the end of the day and has amazing views of Mykonos town, mountains and the famous windmills. The hotel bar is extremely reasonable for cocktails etc when comparing the price to drinks in town and were also very nice. My only criticism of the hotel is the lack of food options, they only really offer toasties so some more variety would be extremely welcomed for returning trips. They do however partner will local restaurants who will bring pizzas, pastas, burgers etc to the hotel however it would be nice to have this option at the hotel itself.
The pool area was very nice with very comfy sunbeds. The pool was cold but this is expected for the middle of October.
If you are put off by other reviews of the nearby car park, please ignore this as it’s hardly visible from the pool area and from a noise perspective you could hardly tell this was here. Our balcony room overlooked the car park in the distance but this honestly didn’t have an affect on our trip.
Thank you for a wonderful stay illio Maris hotel.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is less than 10 min from the new port and less than 10 min walking to the waterfront. Everyone at the hotel (Jason, Zoey, Exher) was extremely accommodating. The breakfast was free and had plenty of options. They took careful precautions since it was during COVID I felt safe here. My room had an amazing view of the entire town and waterfront. The bed was comfortable and the wife was free and abundant. Anything I asked for the hotel always made sure to accommodate me. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend to anyone coming to Mykonos. I literally have nothing bad to say about them except I did struggle with getting the shower to be hot but I like my water really hot so I think it’s just me. The staff came to my room and made some adjustments and then it was fine. Other than that everything was amazing!

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel pre pandemic for a delightful 10-night stay, which prompted us to book again without hesitation. However, due to our Jet2 flight schedule, we decided to extend our stay to 11 nights. Despite a slight delay in our flight, we arrived at the hotel around 9:30 PM and were warmly greeted by the reception staff. The driver who picked us up also kindly took our bags to our room. As expected, the room was clean and provided us with a lovely view of the Aegean Sea.
Unfortunately, our first night's sleep was disrupted by a group of drunken individuals shouting at each other. However, we understand that such incidents can occur anywhere, and thankfully, the following nights were much quieter. The breakfast options at the hotel were excellent, although the coffee from the machine could have been a touch hotter when selecting a cappuccino.
The hotel's location is ideal for exploring Mykonos town, as it is just a short walk up the hill. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time by the pool, basking in the sun. The pool area offers a great selection of comfortable sun loungers, allowing guests to relax and unwind. Additionally, the bar menu provided a variety of delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices.
We were impressed by the polite, well-dressed, and hard working staff from reception, housekeeping, food service, and bar. One standout employee was Ele, who worked at the poolside bar. He took the time to learn our names and remembered them throughout our stay, providing exceptional service. Another star among the staff was Georgia who works front of house. She tirelessly worked to fulfill a request I had made, demonstrating her dedication to ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
In summary, the Ilios Maris hotel is an excellent choice for accommodation in Mykonos. Our positive experience, coupled with the attentive staff, great amenities, and convenient location, made our stay truly enjoyable. We will be back.

I was booked for 7 nights. Upon arrival i realized the room was so much smaller than in the photos. I asked to be upgraded and pay the difference but i was told no availability. Quality of the room was mediocre. Housekeeping did not service my room for two days. Some staff are friendly and knowledgeable and some are clueless and unfriendly. Food was below average. Location is just outside town so you will have to be ok with walking up and down the hill with a very crowded street. Room was also noisy on the street side. The pool area is very nice with a good sunset view. I preordered a taxi from the reception for an early morning flight and paid 20 euros and when the driver showed up i realized its a shared car and there is no space for my luggage ( very unprofessional) , had to scramble for another taxi at 5am. Overall the experience was not worth it.

A 3 minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Mykonos town, the 30 room hotel sits just outside of the madness.
Breakfast is average to good
Pool area is relaxing, not crowded and the sun beds are 10/10 comfortable .
Pool bar service on the sunset deck is great. The barman and team worked 11-12 daily in the 36 degree heat so was well worth tipping !
Sea view rooms are worth it, they overlook the harbor and the town.
We hired a car from the hotel for €50 to explore the island because the beaches aren’t walking distance away. Taxis one way to scorpios are around €50 each, so giving up drinking for a day seemed very worth it.
Peter who works reception PM spoke better English than me and was very helpful with recommendations.
If you want to visit Mykonos, experience the culture and eat somewhere different every night, this hotel is a great location to do so.

We spend 10 days in this hotel for the first time in Mykonos and are very pleased. It started with the friendly pickup at the airport with a bottle of water. As we arrived early and the room was not ready, coffee was offered and we spent the waiting time at the pool. We got a lovely and spacious room on the top floor with a beautiful view - sunset from bed. There was a spacious terrace. The room is modern with a comfortable bed and large bathroom.
The hotel ist just a 2-3 minutes walk from the city center which is very convenient.
Above all, we appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us to get a quad delivered to the hotel and got us some sunbeds in some very lovely beach clubs around Mykonos island.
The breakfast is served because of COVID-19 and it has a large choice of eggs, fruits and sweet stuff.

Oh I wish we could have stayed longer in this hotel (and in Mykonos). We checked in for one night on our way to Naxos by ferry the following day. The hotel arranged a free transfer from the airport and thank you to George who picked us up. The lady in reception who checked us in was very pleasant. We were shown to our room which had a view right down to the windmills and the ‘many’ cruise ships. Breakfast was very nice and they had lovely freshly squeezed orange juice along with greek delicacies as well as usual UK breakfast items. The young man assisting in the breakfast area was very polite and accommodating. The swimming pool looked very inviting but we only had the one day, so we left the hotel after breakfast to have a wander around the town. George drove us down to port later that afternoon. Eight days in Naxos and then back to Ilio Maris. And here I want to thank the hotel for allowing us to stay on two separate single nights as I believe hotel policy is minimum two nights. Once again George collected us from the port around about noon. The lady in reception (sorry I didn’t get your name) welcomed us back. We were shown to our room which overlooked the pool this time. Unfortunately on the way to the room, I tripped and fell flat on my face and hurt my knee. Hubby did mention to reception that the steps around the hotel (and there are many) should be made more by making the slip strips more obvious. We joked that had we been Americans, we would have sued (joking of course). But it is something that needs attention. We spent the majority of the afternoon around the pool. The fall aside, we had a lovely time here at Ilio Maris and wish we could have spent more time there. George once again did the honours and drove us to the airport which was only couple of kms away. Thanks again George - you were a STAr! Tip - the hotel is halfway up a hill and it is quite steep. No real pavements and you need to jostle people, buses, motorbikes etc. All in all, our two separate nights there were a joy and we would definitely stay there again if we get back to Mykonos.

Really short walk into town, clean and pretty.
Breakfast was fantastic, I'm vegan and the staff bend over backwards to make sure I had options and was happy, there was a variety of plant milk everyday, sometimes pumkin pie which was delicious, and almond yogurt with lots of toppings.
Rooms were quiet, the balcony size depends on the room, we had a good size one (210)

we stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed it a lot. the room was perfect with a big terrasse facing the sea and the windmills and every day a very beautieful sunset. I strongly suggest to book a room with seaview. the room was very clean and all the staff were wonderful, extremly helpfull and so very friendly. be it at the reception, the breakfast room or the cleaners, all very nice. the only thing to mention maybe was the breakfast. it was every day the same. however it was more then enough and quite some variety, incl. freshly squeezed OJ. the hotel is centrally located, very quiete and just a few minutes to walk to the towncenter of Mykonos. they offer free transfer from airport or port v.v. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Such a lovely hotel right next to Mykonos town but not inside it. Our room had views of the amazing sea! They offered free transportation to/from the port or airport. The restaurants recommended by the hotel staff were all fabulous. I also rented a car through the hotel and got a better rate than I would have gotten outside, plus you can pick up / leave the car at the hotel to be collected. Hotel offers beach towels to be used at their pool or you can bring them out to the beaches. I absolutely loved my little balcony!

Hi
no, we had a normal twin bed room. I dont know wheter they have self catering washing machines or not. But I believe you could give them the laundry as in every hotel.
cheers,
Not sure, however about a 3min walk from the hotel finds you at the area where buses take off to all the good beaches around the island. You simply buy a ticket at the box office then wait for your bus to arrive. We used it just the one time to get down to Super Paradise.
We paid , in mid July, EUR229 for 1 night, 2 people, room with sea view incl breakfast booking online via one of the wholesalers.
