Detailed Reviews
My friend and I are college aged from America, and decided to stay in this hostel in Mykonos due to it being cheaper and wanting to meet people. From the ferry arriving in new port we took a water taxi to old port, where it was a short walk up to the hostel. This was sort of confusing but just find the water taxi rather than the bus here. We arrived and checking in with the owner, sharing our concerns about our first hostel experience. He has one private room with 4 beds and he allowed us to stay in there for the first 2 nights even though we did not pay extra, which was very appreciated. It was very hot during our stay and the air conditioning was not great, but overall it was fun and we got to meet people and still have a lot of privacy. Our last night we were moved to the main area when the private room was booked, and we do not think we could have stayed in there very long. Keep in mind the area to store your things is small, if you have a large suitcase there is nowhere to lay it out or open it/lock it in the drawers. This hostel is ideal for backpackers or those that pack lightly. I would recommend if you want the hostel experience and do not have large luggage. Rent the private room if you have a group of 3 or 4. I also recommend taking the metros everywhere, they are a lot cheaper than taxis and pretty easy to figure out, meet people at the hostel to show you around and go out with. We preferred this location rather than staying near Paraga or Paradise Beach, as the buses were so easy we had access to everything and a close walk to a great view of the town. If I stayed again I would not book more than 1 night online and then see if you like it or want to move to a different place, a lot of people in the hostel moved to other locations while they stayed in Mykonos.

I stayed at one night at this hostel, it's walking part from the new port you can get the sea taxi and walk distance. The location can be quite confusing it's near the taxi rank and next to post office. Very convenient location for the pricey mykonos so you are paying for location and island itself. The only thing I struggled to get to top bunk there is the rocks to get to top but I felt I was rock bouldering and had to get someone from night security to help get me to top as I worried I fall down as there isn't a staircase only rocks to climb. Otherwise all good. I didn't try the pool but it looks really good

Beautiful hostel, Helena at reception is very friendly and helpful, but the place needs important maintenance and deep cleaning in the rooms and showers. Location is good, between center and new port. Steps to go up thr thr beds not stable at times and very small.

Kostas is a very welcoming guy who doubles with the minimarket next door. He signed me in kind of outside reception, in Covid climes, Mykonos being more prone to international influences.
The futuristic style of the place is a bit like waking up in a mooncraft. Accordingly headheight when sitting up in lower bunk was a wee bit necklength bowed. If on top bunk, the narrow wooden rungs need to be carefully negotiated.
Scrupulously clean bathrooms at either end of the hall. The Senegalese dude Didi/Gigi made sure that things were maintained really well.
There's a cool sundowning area with a chance to meet fellow critturs of different nationalities.
The almost infinity pool in the sundowning area has a couple of liloes which look like they could have slid through the perspex gap down into the patio below. Meant to mention to Kostas. But perhaps its safer than it looked overlooking the pool.
And to get anything near affordable as this in Mykonos, a community hostel spirit it too: impossible. Okay, it's gonna be more in August than October. $25 for Mykonos. Fab convenient location.
And there's a good cheap souvlaki house round the corner just above the Old Port bus station. And Yorgos' Bakery just down the way does deilish smoked salmon (packed to the gunnels) baguettes.
MyCocoon allows you to stay in Mykonos and enjoy the village without feeling trapped financially, so that you can have a great time.

I have never been this dismayed in to how poorly any accommodation can treat its own guests. I have tried contacting the hostel many weeks before my check in date inquiring due to the situation we are in now and they have been refusing to communicate at all levels with me. I have tried many times, in many different ways, to come into contact with them but they pretend I do not exist. I have no idea why. They only communicate with booking.com but even then is takes ages. Not sure why they are mistreating their own customers this way. I have been travelling a lot and never have I ever experiences this, truly despicable.
I want my money back but they are refusing it, they only offer a voucher which I do not want. They are communicating poorly and slowly through booking.com, through which I have booked. I found it disturbingly ond they are refusing to contact me directly, but I am their customer.
They are refusing to take responsibility and they have no regard for the law or me as a customer.
In all, a very odd way of handling their own customers. Chance of me or any other person I know going there are close to zero.

Catfish place. If you book for two nights, spend several hundred pounds and leave after one it pretty much says it all. Looks nothing like the Instagram photos. Hot, disgracefully nosy, dirty bathroom area. Complete waste of money. Wouldn’t return nor recommend. We’ve been to countless hostels around the world and this was by far the worst.

Had the best tine here. The rooms were spotless, beds comfortable and the staff were amazing. Helpful and friendly and went over and above to make my stay enjoyable. Kostas and the young girl (didn't catch her name) made me feel welcome and I cannot wait to return !! 😀

Costa was great in trying to help but his collegiate was rude and arrogant! Honestly, the most over paid hostel I have done ever. I stayed in the 6 person dorm that should only be max 4 and even that’s pushing it. I was so disappointed at the price I paid. There is no culture and the pool looked dirty. Our shower light kept turning off and there is one little hook for a towel and no shelves to have a proper shower. Our room is in where the mail gets delivered and super noisy in the mornings.
Do yourself a favour and keep searching.
Thanks to costa for all your help trying to make the stay better.

Again I cannot fault this place. The staff amazing, the roof top pool a luxury and l the rooms in the capsule were clean, comfortable and quiet. My friends also visited and told me to give thumbs up for this lovely place . This is a great place for all

I have traveled to many cities in the world. I have stayed in hostels, and hotels from 2 to more than 5 stars. I know when I book a hostel what to expect. First of all this hostel looks "pretty" but is not very user friendly as many other reviews describe (SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE), also since I arrived the service was terrible, no one at the reception desk and we waited literally hours until someone showed up, also I booked a double bed but I got 2 singles, of course we paid the little extra money because 2 singles is more than one double.
The real problem was I was getting a unfair charge that I might have paid if the receptionist wouldn't act like a crazy person, so I didn't because the service at the reception desk is the worse thing I have ever seen in my life, and not only with me, but with other guests to. The bottom line is the receptionist hit me in the front desk when I was leaving (because I refused to pay her invented charge that actually first was 10 euros and suddenly she said 20), so she threat me and when I told her I was glad there were cameras there so I have proof of what she was doing to me (I never touched her) she told me in fact there was not recordings at all so she could do whatever she wanted to me. I actually screamed for help but no one listened to me and I just ran away from the front desk... really this is the worse place to stay ever.... NOT WORTH IT I hope anyone have to experience the craziness of the receptionist but apart from that, the hostel sucks.
Maybe you should go to the bar of the hostel... the service there, I actually recommend, but never stay there.

A cab which I shared with two others going in the same direction and worked out to be like $15
Hi there! This hostel does do private rooms. However, be mindful of their over-booking. This hostel severely over-books. I had booked a private room myself, and it was overbooked. This happened to a bunch of people there. They also run a scam, where they over-book and then send you to illuminate and illegally run places so they don't have to pay taxes... beware!
