The pool area was great with what appeared to be a grownups area and a family area which worked really well as i wasn't conscious of my kids annoying anyone around the pool. This is also the firs hotel I have ever been to where there was na abundance of sun beds all day. There were no occasions when people were putting towels on sun beds and disappearing back to bed.
Breakfast was great with something for everyone. Pancakes, churros, cakes to keep the kids happy, lots of fresh fruit, cereal, fresh eggs, yogurt etc. Again the breakfast staff were great.
The rooms were spacious and really well laid out with comfy beds, great shower, good sized balcony and lots of USB charging points eliminating the need for travel plugs for most devices.
I have 3 criticisms. Two are constructive and will hopefully help a new hotel to become even better than it already is.
The first is there needs to be more information for guests in the rooms. Usual information such as breakfast start and finish times, opening hours of the spa, a menu for the bar and restaurant and maybe some useful phone numbers or local area information.
The second is I really think the pool bar menu and the restaurant menu need revisiting. The food options are very limited, especially for families and also overpriced. Other than breakfast, I only ate once at the hotel, in the pool bar due to the limited menu and value for money.
My third criticism is unfortunately the surrounding area. It is noisy at times and unclean in certain areas. This has nothing to do with the hotel and the hotel should not be judged on this. A 10 minute walk gets you away from the worst part and into some nice bars and restaurants. This would certainly not be enough to stop me returning as the hotel itself is so nice.
To the hotel manager, you should be extremely proud of your hotel and all your staff. I hope this hotel is a success and continues to go from strength to strength. I hope to return soon. Thanks for a lovely stay.
The hotel is very close to the beach, but the beach area is full of German drunks. Even early evening 6pm this was not a suitable place for families. Very intimating and people stumbling all over the place.
There is an all day club opposite the hotel. Didn’t bother us, but could hear the cheering and music in the background all afternoon.
The hotel is very well decorated , nice clean pools, towels provided and excellent air con.
Extremely expensive charging £5 per bottle of small water, £4 a small coke, 4 main courses £100, £20 for a kids pasta. Very limited menu choice which was hard as we ate there most nights due to the state of the beach front.
Although being peak season , very quiet resort ( which had its good points), but equally no one around in the evening. No body at the bar, no atmosphere, nothing for kids other than the pool.
We booked a junior suite. Nicely decorated. Very comfy beds. Definitely not big enough for 4 people. One strange wardrobe that you could view your clothes in all the time. Lovely big shower, that leaked over the floor every use. The shower room was within the bedroom with just a curtain dividing it off, and the toilet was in what I would say was a cupboard.
The room was not cleaned daily. I couldn’t find the sign that went on the door. I explained to reception, but basically had to ask at reception each time I wanted the room cleaned, and they didn’t even give new cups ( just put my cup with lipstick mark on back on the tray!)
If you are a young couple this is probably an ideal place, but not for families.
Whilst we were there the hotel was only 10-15% occupied, probably because it was very new. This was great for us as it meant that we could always pick where we wanted to sit by the pool as there was probably only 20 people maximum at any one time.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we could not fault the hotel at all.
The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the sea front. It is also very near 'bar street' which is I believe is an equivalent to the Magaluf strip but for the Germans instead of the English. Whilst the area was noisy when you walked through it, and very busy, you could hardly hear it at the hotel and it definitely did not have any impact on the stay there.
I would definitely recommend the hotel, it is a lovely relaxing place and you are certainly looked after, everything you would expect from a 5 Star hotel.
What we hadn't appreciated is that the hotel is right next door to the Bierkonig. As we arrived we could hear noise. A mixture of chanting/singing as from a large football stadium, mixed with booming base. The volume was immense. We attempted to sit outside around the pool but it was too unpleasant. The swimming pool also looked lovely but water was too cold to swim in. The staff looked slightly sheepish when I asked if this went on all day and night. In fact the bierkonig is open from 10am til 4am 365 days a year.
I totally sympathise with the hotel as I'm staggered that one venue can create so much major noise disturbance. If you are a clubber/raver I'm sure it wouldn't bother you. I only want to warn anyone who books this hotel thinking they need a week of peace & quiet. Even with our terrace door closed we could still hear the noise into the wee small hours... Earplugs were essential.
When we woke in the morning, we went for a stroll along the prom. The hotel seemed a completely different place in the morning as we checked out. On this occasion I was really pleased we were only there one night.
The food is beautifully served and service is quick especially to rooms. It could be a bit hotter as room service but just ask them to use a hot plate and that sorts that out.
Breakfast is on till 11am and spread is great including chef who will provide you with omelettes and scrambled eggs. I love eggs with smoked salmon and plenty of that, inc juice, pastries etc. staff will set you a table inside and outside as you wish.
We had a hire car and didn’t need to use hotel car park at 15 Euros a day as plenty of on street free parking.
I am mentioning the Bierkonig as others have said you can hear it and yes you can but it is young people enjoying themselves and did not ruin our stay in any way. Remember you are still in a busy holiday resort you have to expect you are with all ages just let it flow over you whilst you soak in your jacuzzi on your balcony, we did and trust me it’s no issue. 😄
Love the Aubamar Suites and Spa we will definitely come back here they have really looked after us.
room service does not work at all times. the minibar in the room has been ruined since we arrived and we were promised a new one but still 4 days have passed without any response from the staff. overpriced food at the hotel and if they are going to deliver food, you have to pay out 10 euros. we were promised a new room because the ac always went out, but now 4 days have passed without anything. too much noise in the evenings and vomit smell everywhere outside. don't expect anything more.
I had read a few bad reviews of the hotel but we didn’t have any bad experiences here.
Some of the other reviews mention the location of the hotel - yes it’s in a busy spot with the german bars/street a short walk away but we didn’t really hear any noise in our rooms at all, or while we were sat by the pool.
Breakfast was nice but the hot food under the lights could be hotter as it was just warm. Special thank you to Leida at breakfast who was just a lovely bright happy person.
Rooms were lovely no noise outside from anyone in the corridor. Wifi was brilliant for the kids.
Pool area lovely but the pool doesn’t open until 10am and closes at 7pm which for me and the kids is too late in the morning and too early in the evening, this should be looked at.
Also no inflatables in the pool unless you can’t swim. While I agree with this up to a point an 8 year old girl was wearing a small rubber ring in the main pool and was told she couldn’t use it. She was very upset. The lifeguard had watched her and although the girl could swim somewhat the Dad wanted her to wear it just in case, but the lifeguard was having none of it.
Drinks at the hotel very expensive €12-14 for a gin/tonic and vodka tonic.
We only ate lunch once in the hotel and it was really very good, again expensive though.
The hotel was busy but you could get a sunbed at any time during the day.
So a really nice hotel and if it was in a different location I would go again but Playa De Palma is certainly not the place for me, though not the hotels fault.
Think Magaluf for the Germans and you wouldn’t be wrong. Loads of young german men in rugby shirts getting drunk as soon as the sun came up. Very few nice restaurants, real shame.
But that’s my fault I should have done the research on the area.
