Nice place to stay, everything was very well operated. Ten min walk to the beach and lots of bars, shops and places to eat near by. Lidl is next door so that's incredibly handy. Drinks in lidl are basically for nothing. Big downside here was that the pool was ice cold rendering it unusable. Also they were charging €25 euro per device! for the wifi. Charged €15 to use the safe ! Not really fair in my opinion as people seem to spend a good deal of time on the premises drinking and eating. Very good bar on site as well.
Having read some of the more recent recent reviews I admit I was concerned. Frankly, I really couldn't see what the fuss was about and can wholeheartedly recommend the Aparthotel Puerto Carmen. I found all the staff to be friendly and polite, and yes the Spanish do have a sense of humour. The rooms are basic but clean. Yes the beds are hard, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I actually slept very well indeed. Yes, a little DIY TLC needed in spots, but if you wanted 5* go elsewhere and pay for it. So for the money, it is great value, and would recommend to anyone on a budget.
I’m not sure why the reviews are so bad. I am loving it here. The apartments are dated but they are clean and the put you up bed is lovely and comfortable. The staff are lovely. The pool areas is beautiful. It’s an easy walk into the main centre. Would come back.
The hotel Puerto carmen is quite a basic hotel although it does have pretty much everything you need. We was put in a room which was pretty much as far away as you can get facing the road...we was in a first floor apartment the balcony only got sun in the late afternoon the pool area was quite nice but the sunbeds were quite old and a lot of them were broken....there are a couple of restaurants across the road that did a nice breakfast...which we ate from as the hotel food was not that great...there are also a couple of supermarkets and a lidl right next door...beds in the room was very hard and noisy but the room was generally clean...maids were in the room every day apart from sunday clean towels every other day...a brisk 15 minutes walk to the main strip but we got a cab back as it was up hill which cost us 3 euros 10 minutes walk to the old town...all in all a great getaway for a cheap budget holiday..not bad for the price…
