Grupotel Cinco Plazas garners praise for its spotless premises and prime location just a short walk from the bustling strip and beach, despite the challenging slope some guests mention. The hotel's vibrant atmosphere, underscored by daytime music and enjoyable open-air activities, contributes to its charm. Accommodations are generally applauded for their spaciousness, although internet woes and occasional maintenance issues are noted. While the service receives kudos for its helpfulness, the occasional delay in room readiness is a drawback. Overall, the hotel is seen as providing good value, with essential amenities meeting guests' expectations, even if securing a sunbed can be a competitive affair.

I stayed here with my 3 children aged 14,10 and 7 in mid August. The pool is fab and apartment was spacious and clean. Staff are very polite and hardworking, especially the pool side bar staff. Food and drink is great value for money. Location is great just a 20 minute downhill walk to the beach front. Lots of places to eat and drink there and the beaches are great, we walked further down to playa Chica beach where my kids snorkeled with the fish.
All in all a fantastic and relaxed holiday even during a pandemic, hotel staff disinfected communal areas regularly including sunbeds. We didnt want to come home. Would stay again in future.

Stayed in this complex for one week in September with my girlfriend, I’ll admit I was nervous before coming over as it was so cheap and google-rated as a 2 star hotel (though is definitely at least a 3*!!) but I needn’t have worried.
The complex is gorgeous, we stayed in an apartment right next to the main pool & had two balconies, one out the front and one out the back. We stayed in a ground floor apt and whilst we got no sun out the front balcony, the back one got it 24/7 and I know the upstairs apt’s got sun on both balconies constantly.
Rooms are equipped with ample storage, two sofa’s, a kettle, coffee machine (basic) & a toaster. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook. Bathroom is lovely containing a shower (no bath, not that it mattered to us) and bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds.
Not much of the sun bed wars going on, maybe that was down to the time of year we’d went. There was a few people lined up at 10am for sun beds as usual however there was only one day that we struggled to get one and it was about 2pm, even then we had gotten two within half an hour. Complex also has a splash pool at the back for the kids where I believe there is more sunbeds (though I admit we didn’t go back there at all so not 100%).
Lifeguards are lovely, cleaning ladies are lovely and staff on reception are so helpful, including the night security who helped us when we came home late at night to our bedroom flooded due to a burst pipe. They offered to put us up in another room for the night (though we refused kindly) and helped us clean it with towels. Additionally when mentioned to reception the next morning the lady was so apologetic and offered us late checkout with no time restriction for when we left the next day.
Pool bar open 10-6pm every day, restaurant not open in the evening and only serving afternoon snacks (panini etc) however this wasn’t an issue for us. No entertainment due to COVID, however we seen a couple of kids clubs going on while we were there and a lady we’d spoken to had mentioned there’s one on midday and one mid-afternoon.
Hyperdino supermarket is right next to the complex with the Spinnaker bar on top (breakfast & dinner is gorgeous and so cheap!) with good entertainment at night also.
Overall would not hesitate to come back and would recommend to anyone. If you are hesitant about booking this complex, don’t be, it’s a pleasant surprise.

We stayed in a 2-bed ground floor apartment which was perfect and very comfortable and spacious and clean, and we were right beside the splash pool which was fantastic and nice and calm and quiet. They turn on the jets at 10am (which was perfect). Air conditioning throughout the apartment was no extra cost. (agreed with last reviewer) it is very good A/C and so quiet.

Personally we had no trouble with sun beds round the splash pool…… however the main pool was desperate for people leaving their towels all day and night long. (we reported this to reception, they advised to let the lifeguard know we are looking for sunbeds and within an hour he will take peoples towels off that have not been occupied and get you a sunbed. It’s not ideal but less confrontation with other holidaymakers that way).

The reception was extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them they were always smiling and courteous. If you need any printing done, they don’t mind at all. If you need them to call your transfer company, they are glad to help. Superb staff so kind and helpful from the minute we arrived until our departure.

Apartment was massive in size, spacious living area and two spacious bedrooms. Kitchen and bathroom were both ideal. (they could do with a little door at the back of the shower to stop the water spilling out over onto the tiles, there is a need to use your towels to stop the flooding. (this could be a fatal accident waiting to happen in my opinion). Towels were changed every other day which was great.

WIFI was not great but again it was no extra cost. (agreed with last reviewer)
Little snack bar was very reasonable and with a good choice of food and drinks.

There is a big supermarket (hyperdino) next to apartments and just a little walk downhill (5 minutes) to beach and restaurants and shops.
I would defiantly recommend this hotel for families, everywhere has something, busy and lively, or nice and quiet areas, which really suited our family.

They are coping with covid very well and the place is spotless and very well managed from what I could see.

There is SOS staff at the pool who were good fun and they interacted with everyone. There is also security on site, so it makes you feel safe.

There are double super comfy beds (sunbeds) that you can hire privately for €15 a day its supposed to come with free cava or sangria. There was never any cava and we didn’t like sangria so a small tip is to ask reception to reserve a bottle of cava for you or you will be back to complain.

To finish up. I loved this place it was great. And I would defiantly go back again.

My wife and I stayed for a week at Cinco Plazas apartments, returning on 12th January. We felt it would be useful to describe our experience of the facilities on offer.
Our room was a good size for two people, with a comfortable bed. The kitchen was small, but adequate for preparing basic meals. The shower was excellent. However, the outside temperature during our stay was no more than 19 degrees, and the room heating system was inadequate so we felt chilly during the evening. We reported this to reception, who offered us an electric heater for 15 euros for the week. There was a tv in the room, but it would only receive BBC World News and Sky News, unless we subscribed to pay per view channels. The cost was 4.50 euros per day or 20 euros per week. There was a safe in the room, which cost 15 euros per week. Wi-fi was available in the room, but it was intermittent. The room was cleaned most days.
We booked half board for the week, which included a buffet breakfast and buffet evening meal. I'm afraid to say that every meal we had at the restaurant was cold, which made for a poor eating experience. In addition, the atmosphere in the restaurant was poor, mainly due to the small number of people eating there and the chilly temperature. We asked if we could revert to self-catering (with an appropriate refund), but the management refused on the grounds that it was in our contract that no refunds were possible. They offered us lunch instead of dinner, but as we were out all day, this was no use to us. I felt particularly aggrieved by this response, especially in light of the fact that the hotel's introductory letter stated that 'your satisfaction is our reward'.
We didn't experience any of the activities on offer, so we can't comment on these.
The normal hotel check-out time was 11.00 a.m. However, in order to extend that to 5.00 p.m., an additional cost of 45 euros was requested. I thought that this was exorbitant.
The majority of staff were excellent throughout our stay, however, the receptionists were not very helpful in respect of the issues we raised.
In summary, Cinco Plazas offers good accommodation, but the restaurant and food are poor, and the extra charges add a fair bit to the cost of the holiday. We are unlikely to return.

We stayed for 7 nights at the Cino Plazas and enjoyed our stay although these apartments are three star at most and TUI’s 4 star rating is rather generous to say the least. The apartment we had was at the quieter pool area which was fortunate as the busier pool area was extremely busy (even in February) , and a race for sun beds each morning. We had a breakfast only package and the breakfast selection and quality was very good. Our room seemed to be cleaned on occasion with no set routine and we had to ask for fresh towels or they were not changed. Biggest criticism would be trying to find your room on arrival, you are given a map with a circle around your room but as a first time visitor it’s very confusing. We used to watch fellow holidaymakers every day stumbling around with their cases and map reading, not the best start to your stay. Overall a nice place although the TUI staff were hopeless but that’s another story.

Just returned back after 2 weeks our first time at Cinco Plaza, We have to say we really enjoyed it. But have to admit the Sunbed situation is horrendous. This is something that needs addressing at The Hotel ASAP. The Splash pool tends to be quiet and we would usually get a couple there, as for the main pool we didn't even attempt to try to get sunbeds there as you have people queuing from around 07:30/08:00 am pushing towels through the stacked sunbeds and claiming spots on the floor with towels. The smaller pool is lovely and tends to have more of a family atmosphere. We would not even try to attempt to get sunbeds we would just walk around and leave our slidders on the side of the pool. but around 2-3 pm you could usually get a sunbed around there. Our 2 Bed Apartment was really big and spacious, Large Terrace and cleaned every 3 days, along with towels changed at least 3 times a week. Pool Bar food is lovely we brought Pizzas for our girls a few times which are huge and only 7 euros which could easily feed 2-3 adults. They also had the Chicken nuggets/Burger and chips which the Girls said were lovely and portions were massive. not expensive to eat and drink there either, spirit measures in The drinks are huge lol Location is fantastic 5 minutes down the hill and you are on the beach and in the middle of The Strip. The Staff was overall very polite and helpful apart from the older lady in reception who never cracked her face. The beach is stunning and only 10.50 euros a day for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. If you are looking to eat out we can recommend The Black Buffalo, Spoons, Pinocchio's, and Gallaghers Beach bar all 3 are on The Strip. The food in all 3 was delicious and the service was amazing. The best bar to watch the football we found again was Gallaghers and Sunset Beach. If you are looking for Tapas head down to The Mariner in the Old Town the food and views were stunning. If you have children and are looking for a good night out head to The Highlander also in The Old town, they have Bingo, and Quizzes for all the family on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. about 30-40 Minutes walk or 4 euros in a taxi. Cafe La Ola on the strip (go down the hill turn left and it's on the same side as the beach is absolutely stunning. the views are incredible. The best Bar for Breakfast is Top Gun again go down the hill and turn left. The Bar next door to Cinco Plaza, Spinnakers wow what a view absolutely stunning just a shame the service is not as good. We would definitely return to Cinco Plaza in fact we have been looking again for next year. Do not be put off by the sunbed wars, if you are looking for good family accommodation in the heart of Puerto Del Carmen and near the beach then we definitely recommend Cinco Plaza

Stayed from 5th June for 1 week with my 17 year old son.
Apartment was spacious with a double balcony. The front balcony was big but no furniture which was odd the back balcony had table and chairs.
Room was cleaned every other day sheets never changed and the floor only swept never moped so it is a little grimy by the end of the week.
Snacks were good the pizza was very nice.
Close to the local supermarket and a 5min stroll to all the shops bars and beach.
Here is my biggest negative which is a theme the sunbed situation is no other I have ever experienced in 30 years of travelling round the world and is not a pleasant experience.
Trotted on down at 9.55am to find grown men standing over the chained up beds, towels on floors clothing round every parasol it really was a sight to behold. The 1st day not too bad but the 2nd time was horrendous a family had taken 10 beds and umbrellas we took 2 beds and was like sardines we stayed by our beds but the area empties out all with towels and no one laying on them.
It's like the men enjoy this sport and is smug as they get all the beds whilst their partners are having a leisurely lie in.
There was a vain attempt to remove towels which sent some lady into a meltdown we took an umbrella which caused a scene with the family that felt it was OK to go off for 4 hours , they were so rude and asked if I had queued from 8am and that is where the issue lies why should I join this scrum of unpleasantness, the self entitlement was ridiculous and my son stood up for himself. So after that we went to the beach where it was stress free and never once ventured back to the pool area.
The hotel really need to assess this issue and lay the beds out early but enforce a strict no reserving policy then everyone can enjoy the pool area.
We would come back but will never be a part of the sunbed scrum and have that stress everyday people have got to stop following this behaviour and make a stand and have the towels removed if left unoccupied for more than an hour.
The reception staff were very friendly never had an issue when we asked about taxis etc...
Knocking off 1 star due to the sunbed debacle and the other with lack of good cleaning.

If you want a relaxing holiday with older children then Cincos Plazas is not for you.
We spent a week here and as we have older children we do not want to have to get up at 9am for sun beds, the mere fact that people were standing guard over the beds waiting for them to be unlocked says it all. The hotel was full of selfish families all of whose children had a bed each which most of the day lay empty.
People were having to sit on walls around the pool due to the lack of beds, the family below us hid beds on their balcony each night which is pathetic. I mentioned one night after midnight to the security guard that people were coming out and putting towels on beds he shrugged at me and walked away.
In the whole time we spent in the hotel we did not have the option of spending a day around the pool due to the sun bed situation which when you have paid thousands of pounds you do not expect.
The room was spacious but in a week it was cleaned once after we asked, we had dirty towels for 4 and 3 days respectively. The toilet had a strong smell of urine which we reported and nothing was done.
The waste bin was overflowing due to the lack of cleaning.

Overall if you want peace and quiet this place is not for you, I would not return back to Cincos Plazas and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know. Your money can be spent more wisely in a smaller private holiday rental.

Just got back from 2 weeks here, 1 bed apartment was ok, good size & reasonable clean & cumfy beds. Negatives- cleaner came 3 days after we arrived, changed towels & emptied bins, made beds. Came again 3 days later did the same, on day 8 we asked reception when sheets would be changed so they were changed on day 8 and she had a right face on when doing it! no clearer then until day 12 when she came with a mop in hand so told her not to bother as we had been cleaning our selfs. Rooms actually look cleaner than they are, cobwebs in the corners n dust on the lamps. The stories about the sunbed mentality really is true.
We had an apartment directly opp the sunbed stack so found it hilarious to watch the sunbed brigade at 9am storming around getting beds in face we recorded it a few times just to laugh at them, no idea why the hotel chains them up and leaves them stacked overnight unless it because they like to laugh at them too. I think the pool attendant should be putting them out in the morning in rows to prevent the bed disarray you see every day! I’ve read where they say you need to join in or you won’t get 1 is just ridiculous! It’ll never stop if everyone thinks like that!
We chose to go to the beach instead as the pool area is ridiculously loud.
Think it’s more for families than groups of friends so wouldn’t stay there again.

Had a brilliant holiday yes the sunbed wars are pathetic but it didn't bother us we just went from the pool to the apartment as unlike most guests we don't see the point in spending an hour to an hour and a half each morning queuing. Room was cleaned regularly and towels changed every 2 days. Hotel grounds are kept immaculate staff constantly cleaning, emptying bins painting walls.Great location bottom of the hill and your bang in the middle of the strip can then either turn left or right. Spinnakers is a deffo must great location lovely food and staff are excellent. Taxis are so cheap cost us €2-3 euros to get back the hotel each night although we gave them €5. We did the Costa teguise markets and made our own way to playa blanca would recommend both as day trips were excellent. Went as a family of 7 and are already looking to book for July next year. Overall brilliant first stay in cinco plazas and puerto del carmen
