Decor being dated is not a problem for me - more interested in general comfort. On arrival were dealt with a a very friendly and efficient way. The reception staff are always on hand and go the extra mile. Meals are fine but glad I was not all inclusive as its much more pleasant to go to a local restaurant and have tapas for lunch. If you go to the back of the restaurant were the specialities are prepared you will find plenty of really hot plates as I hate cold plates with hot food. I was quite happy with the buffet but do not think you should have to pay extra for proper orange juice. Rooms are dated but so what! The cleaning staff are extremely efficient and if they see you leave your room they seem to clean it straight away. Most days I came back from breakfast and my room had been cleaned. I was quite happy with the hotel entertainment and it was great to see that the place wasn't overrun with young children racing round the dance floor! My only other grumble was having a locked fridge - it doesn't cost much to run a fridge!

Having read some of the reviews on TA I was a bit apprehensive about staying in this hotel but it was much better than I thought. The hotel is well positioned for the shops and the bus and it was kept very clean. I had to cancel my original booking on the day as my flight was cancelled due to Storm Ciara and the hotel changed it for the following week without charge and with no fuss (it had helped that I’d booked direct with the hotel though).

I’d booked a renovated room with sea view and although I might not necessarily have known that it had been renovated (not sure what the others looked like) it was clean and comfortable, although I would advise anyone to take their own hairdryer as the one in the room was underpowered and got very hot to touch. As I was All Inclusive the safe in the room was free and tea and coffee making facilities were also provided. I was really surprised to find that the WiFi worked ok both in the room and in reception which was a bonus.

I also enjoyed the food although it would probably get a bit repetitive after a while. It all seemed fresh and the fish and fruit were particularly good. There is also a station each night serving different cuisines. The service was very friendly and professional and the waiting staff seemed genuinely concerned to make sure that you were looked after.

My biggest issue with the hotel was the evening ‘entertainment’ which was, with the exception of the Soul evening, not very good and very loud. There is nowhere in the hotel where it is possible to get away from the noise and sit in peace after dinner, which is a real gap. We also had trouble with knowing what was included in the All Inclusive tariff, staff told us different things and tried to charge us for drinks which were included. There seemed to be a lack of trained staff and it was all a bit chaotic.

I went to see my mum who was staying there for a month and, while I agree that this isn’t a hotel aimed at a younger clientele, it knows its market and I enjoyed my stay.

Returned again to this hotel and as before rate it very good.
It’s plus points include a relaxed atmosphere, very helpful staff, an excellent location, good pools, ample food and at this time of the year guests largely of the older generation.
The hotel makes a considerable effort to be remain clean with staff always cleaning corridors and public surfaces.
There is live entertainment each evening which is of a mixed variety and standard.
Further improvement is needed to ensure that the evening buffet food is warmer and the gradual upgrading of bathrooms needs to continue as some are very dated.
We intend to stay again

We are currently enjoying a return visit to this lovely Hotel. I am in awe at the level of care being taken by Staff to keep Coronavirus at bay.
The delicious food is normally Buffet Self Service with the exception of Speciality Food Stations..... this time ,however, Gloved Staff Members ensure that Hotel Guests make no physical contact with food on offer. The Breads are cut/served, Food choices placed on proffered plates... As the Hotel seems very quiet this arrangement is working & queues are short & speedy. Should this situation of Coronavirus extend into High Season I envisage a different story.
The San Antonio is always kept in pristine condition, the maintenance of cleanliness is even more obvious today. Every square inch is cleaned & recleaned.
As always the Staff are welcoming & helpful. We’ve been allocated a gorgeous room & the welcoming Bottle of Cava & accompanying selection of Fruit was a special touch.
Judging by our experience of the past days I would totally recommend that there should be no trepidation on anyone’s part about spending down-time in this lovely Hotel & surrounding area in Puerta del Carmen. Keeping that ghastly Coronavirus at bay seems to be the priority, that & the genuine welcome extended to Guests. Thank you, San Antonio... we’re so glad our holiday is still in the early stages.

The hotel is trapped in a 1970’s time wrap and needs a total refurb. If you like tacky Butlins cabaret entertainment, cheap drinks, junk food with the onset of type 2 diabetes this hotel is for you. The food is repetitive with the fish and meats cooked in buckets of dripping sauces and oils and was uneatable I spent the full week eating salads, bread and fruit. The hotel room needed new carpets and gutting. The hotel gym is a farce with no hardly no equipment. The Pool area is falling to bits most of the all the tiles broken . The WiFi only randomly works is the hotel foyer which is frustrating. You would be better paying extra for a real 4 star rated hotel in a more central location. The Photos of this hotel make it look a lot better than what it is. The average age of people staying at this hotel is late 70’s plus.

*** the good points at this hotel were the staff, no charge for the deposit box which was really easy to use and no charge for the iron and ironing board. The salt water pool was ok.

If you like Benidorm then this hotel and Puerto del Carmen location is for you!

The VIK Hotel San Antonio was ideally situated for us. We were able to walk in safety to Arricife in one direction and to the old town in the other. We also cycled in safety to Costa Tequise.
The hotel is a lovely place, it's always clean & the staff are friendly & obliging. I was a bit concerned in the first couple of days as I have to have shade, but this wasn't really an issue. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool (heated) which is adjacent to the (public) beach. There is a good selection of food for every meal, although sometimes it wasn't particularly hot, however was easily rectified by the microwave oven at the food counter. The initial entertainment (up to 10pm) was very good but we never stayed for the main entertainment from 10pm.
We were AI and did not have similar problems as other reviewers. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly return another time.
In the last few days of our holiday, we came under the restrictions in place because of the coronavirus, but the staff remained friendly & helpful throughout the difficulties, which, although confined to our room for a couple of days was merely inconvenient, it was no great problem.

Good choice of hotel, reception staff excellent allocated room striaght away and cases taken up by concierge. Room lovley good view of the sea and no carpet but wooden floor. Supplied with toiletries in the bathroom which were replenished during our stay. The buffet food offered a wide variety both at breakfast and evening meal but needs to be hot however there is a microwave if you want to use it. Staff attentive you can choose your own table inside or use the conservatory or sit outside its your choice. All staff wear masks but guests do not need to. No sunbed wars if there is none ask staff and they will find you one. Pool towels can be hired from reception 10 euros each but you get this back on returning the towel. The entertainment was not to my taste at all it appeared to be very poor artists unlike previous experience of watching them, however the Jiveettes were very entertaining. The bus stops outside the hotel its all one way up to the strip. If you want to travel to Arricefe you need to turn right and go down the hill to catch the bus. Taxi rank outside always avaliable. Supermarket across the road just further down and English speaking Dr on the opposite side of the road. The hotel is situated at the start of the strip which is mostly flat.

Stayed at this Hotel Sep2nd till 23 September 2021
Booked with Jet2holidays stating I am Gluton Free (Coeliac)
On arrival in the restaurant I notice that none of the food had a label on.
This hotel at no time put labels on any food to tell me what I could & could not eat.
Most hotels around the world cater for people with Alergies Or any food intolerances.
I told my rep from Jet2holidays twice & even asked at reception would they please put labels on the food, but no none got put on, I stated if someone had a nut allergy they could get shut down even.
The staff worked very hard and I had to interrupt & chase after them so they could tell me what I could & could not eat it was annoying.

I understand due to Covid this hotel was not running as normal, but for me it was a holiday spoilt.
My desserts for what I paid for this special holiday our 50th Wedding Anniversary we’re Jelly, Ice Cream or Cold Rice Pudding.

Note toJet2 : I have complained to your company but as yet no response.

Flew out on the 29th of May for 2 weeks in the VIK San Antonio Hotel, we definitely made the right choice of hotel from the moment we arrived at reception we were made to feel very welcome. We booked a sea-view room, and we were given room number 1714 perfect room and location with gorgeous views of the sea. Breakfast every morning was lovely from fresh fruit, yogurts, to all freshly cooked bacon (best we have ever had in a hotel), eggs cooked any way you could think off, lovely breads, and pastries. We ended up swapping our evening meal for lunch, which was excellent again as we like going out at night to all the lovely restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen. We were only home for 4 days when we booked for our 40th Wedding Anniversary in December so the count down is on to go back to this lovely hotel.

Was dubious after reading some of the reviews but needn’t have worried. Yes the hotel is dated but it adds to the charm. We stayed all inclusive for 11 nights and had free safe, fridge and tea/coffee making in the room. They leave you one big bottle of water a day in the room. Not enough for us so we bought a big 5ltr bottle which was noticed by the maid and without being asked left us 2 bottles a day after that.

The room was spotless with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. We asked for extra pillows which were brought up the same day. If you need anything you only have to ask - nothing is too much trouble.

We found the staff very attentive and definitely in no way rude as other reviewers have commented.

The all inclusive involves showing your card and signing the receipt. Not a problem once you get used to it. It was nice actually to NOT have a white tan line on my arm due to the AI bracelet!

Branded drinks are included in the AI - bottled San Miguel for one and Smirnoff vodka with real coke. Can’t comment on other drinks as that’s our tipples.

The food was gorgeous with plenty of choice. Just leave your card on the table and the waiter will note the room number without bothering you. We had lunch at the pool bar quite a few times as the snacks were a nice change.

Entertainment at night was really good on the few occasions we stayed in (we don’t normally stay in so was pleasantly surprised). The main bar is large with plenty of seats. We mostly sat outside on the terrace enjoying our drinks. It is waiter service - one person takes your order then another brings out.

We used the pool on the terrace because it was quiet and you had the lovely sea breeze to keep you cool. Never a problem getting a sun bed. Pool towels are available for a 10 euro deposit and can be changed every day if you wish.

We had a late flight home so asked on departure day to keep our room which we were lucky that we could. It only cost 30 euros for the room and to keep our all inclusive till we left. If you can’t keep your room they do provide a courtesy room and just go to reception to book and get your AI extended.

Yes there is an older clientele but I think it’s because they are looked after so well they keep going back. The hotel is a classy old school one that makes you feel relaxed and spoiled.

I’ve lost count of the amount of times we’ve been to PDC having stayed in a fair few hotels we liked this one so much we’ve booked again for July and September this year.
