Lovely small, compact apartment block. We were a bit apprehensive coming here after reading reviews about break ins!!! However our apartment was extremely secure & we felt very safe here. Apartment was spacious for the 2 of us, adequate cooking utensils, pots & pans etc. Only negative was that there wasn't an oven as we like to cook a lot. Bathroom was a bit dated but didn't worry us as lots of hot water & a powerful shower. Very comfortable bed which was actually a double, normally it's 2 singles pushed together!! Complex very quiet day & night. I needed a mobility scooter & reception were great at helping me sort out accessing the apartment with it & I was able to charge it daily at the apartment also. WiFi was free & fast. The pool area looked lovely but we never used it. Situated up a steep hill but we used to break the journey by calling into the 3 bars along the hill. We got an occasional taxi at €3. Would recommend if you want a quiet break but also close to all the bars & restaurants on the strip. Hoping to return next year.

Accommodation was basic and furniture had probably seen better days, chairs were very squeaky however bed was comfortable and the apartment was very clean and was cleaned most days during our stay. All equipment needed for a self catering stay was there. An iron and Hairdryer was available at reception and there was no charge despite what their information booklet said. it was about a five minute walk down hill to the long sandy beach where there was countless bars and restaurants, think there were more irish bars here than there are in Dublin. Hill was not too steep and if you are reasonably fit elderly person you should be able to manage it or alternatively take a taxi, about 3 to 4 euros from the strip. Apartment staff were very friendly and helpful although the reception had limited opening hours, 10am to 2pm closed all day Sunday and Thursday. This wasn't a big problem although if arriving outwith these times be sure to contact them before you go for information on getting through the security gate and picking up your apartment key. If you need a safe let them know and they will ensure the key is left for you in advance all in all we had a great stay and although as I said the apartments were dated this did not hamper our stay and to be fair it was excellent value. Nice wee pool, however I wasn't brave enough to try it in December.

We stayed here in December for 7 days to get away from the dark, wet and bleak days in Ireland. We paid 640 EUROs (flight and accommodation) each for 7 days, so it was cheap and cheerful. The apartments are in an excellent location, only 2 or 3 minutes walk to the main drag/strip on the seafront. You just walk out the gate and head towards the sea, all downhill and you arrive at the Restaurante Asiatico in 2 or 3 minutes. Passing two Spars (one which was open) and probably 3 or 4 bars on the way. The Snug bar and the Irish Viking bar (much bigger). You can go right (probably 600 meters before you hit the Fariones hotel) or left where you can walk for 10km until you reach the airport and if you are energetic another 5 to the capitol city of Arecife. The apartment is very very dated. There was one power point in the kitchen, so if you wanted to use the kettle, the toaster and the Microwave, you had to use them one after the other. Crazy, in 2021 in a modern European country. The electric hob seemed like something that you would have in a caravan, it had two rings and took forever to get hot. The apartment which we were in only had the usual European Terrestrial channels. And the TV was not a smart TV and was slow as Christmas when changing channels. We had Sky News, CNN and I think one other channel which showed programs in English. Apparently, some of the other apartments do have all of the usual Sky English channels and also more modern bathrooms and facilities. The free internet was good in the main living area and outside the apartment but kept dropping in the bedroom. The apartment is clean and was regularly cleaned while we were there, but alas its very dated. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, when we asked for extra blankets they brought them to us immediately. We didn’t experience any security issues, but we talked to a couple who stay there regularly and they said that security is a major issue. They have had numerous stays in the apartments and each time, someone in the complex is broken in to and robbed. Mostly when they have not closed the doors properly. Even when they have been asleep in the bedroom. So, obviously these people circumnavigate the complexes security to gain entry and then go around and try each door to see if they are open. The pool was advertised as heated, the hell it was ! I swam in the pool once while there, at around 4pm when it had been warmed up by the sun. Even then it was Baltic but after a few minutes it was bearable. Once again, I have to say that the pool was cleaned regularly. The maintenance cannot be faulted but overall the apartments and facilities could do with an overhaul. Barbara at reception was wonderful and all of the cleaners were also wonderful. Location, location, location…. We walked 14KM one day from the apartment to Playa Honda. It was lovely. All the way along the promenade, the sea to our right and it was spectacular. At the airport, the planes come in probably 100 feet over your head, its so cool. The restaurants in Playa Carmen... We had an Indian, a Mexican, an Italian, a salad (at home!) a steakhouse evening and overall we were under-whelmed. The standards were mediocre and the prices were ok to over-priced. If you are used to eating out in the UK or Ireland you will probably think that the food is good and the prices are cheap. If you are used to eating out in France/Belgium you will think that the food is rubbish and the prices are over-priced. None of the resto’s that we ate in, wowed me.

This is a tired complex with part time receptionist. Lack of security leaves it wide open for burglary & CCTV only focused on reception. We were robbed from apt 20 on a Saturday night whilst in bed - no reception open on Sunday to help us We reported it to the police who attended the apartment on the following day. Only after that did the maintenance man come to add additional security to the door which you could open from outside even when locked ! Whilst the receptionist was helpful we had no communication from the manager /owner even though they were on site on the day before we left - very poor customer service Visit here at your own risk !!

Arrived late at night, Reception was not open but we had been given a code to access security gate and another code to open key box. A bit more lighting would have been appreciated but we managed to access our apartment, no problem. Apartment very spacious if decor a little dated. Perfect for us, we just wanted to sleep and breakfast in it. Apartment cleaned every second day, best service ever. Each apartment has a balcony for outdoor wining and dining. Pool was beautiful and clean, lots of sunbeds and tables. Not suitable for children unable to swim, shallowest part of pool was 1.8 metres deep. 5 minute walk to the main strip and Playa Grande. Spar shop well stocked 2 minute walk away. Highly recommend these apartments, we hope to return in December 2021. We stayed in Apt. No. 9 which was 1 minute walk to pool and near to Reception. Only downside was wifi but we have been assured that they are working on an upgrade.

Basic dated apartments although extremely clean. WiFi is advertised as in all areas although didn't work for us whilst we were there. The lady on reception is great and cant do enough to help you. I have stayed in better locations as a little bit back from the strip for us.

Would have been here in March 2020, as we had stayed in March 2019. We loved the quietness of the apartments. Basic but clean - just what we like. Friendly, helpful staff. Close to everything- beach, shops, bars & restaurants. Really hope we can return soon.

These apartments are in a quiet location midway between the new and old town. We are in our 70 s so it was taxis every night. Thankfully taxis are cheap. Though the apartments are quite nice and very clean, I found only having reception open for about 3 hours a day and closed on Sunday a bit awkward. The pool area was nice and clean but not being able to swim, the pool itself was out of bounds for me.

Just returned from a 7 day break. The las Acacias is a Small gated complex in a fantastic location, a couple of minutes walk to the beach. The apartment is very clean and has very comfortable beds. The grounds and pool area are spotless. So peaceful in the evenings, sitting outside chilling. Two spars a minute away and have everything you need. The Receptionist Barbara is so helpful and sweet. The cleaning Lady so cherry I have stayed here before and this it didn't disappoint. I will return again soon and would reccomend this lovely complex.
